( wife/y ) yixing calls her this because zi qi rearranged is qizi which means 'wife' in mandarin. he does this since she always creates nicknames for others ( usually ) based on their names, so he thought she should have a nickname like that too.

( seven ) yifan call her this because 'qi' could also mean the number 'seven' if not seen with the character of it. ( she could also be the seventh 94-liner of the club if there are enough of them in it )

( yin ) lu han came up with this nickname after zi qi randomly told him ( in the midst of studying for an english final ) that he and her were like yin and yang because of their ( very ) different personalities. after she receives this nickname during her first year, she uses it as an alias for all her pictures instead of z.q.

( heiress ) zitao came up with this nickname because really, zi qi could be considered an heiress to her mother's boutique back home in qingdao. she also always has this 'fashionable aura' surrounding her according to him, so that may also contribute to that nickname as well. who knows.

( ghost ) kibum came up with this nickname after zi qi unintentionally scared him three times in one day with her sudden presence. she never meant to scare the man, but she just moves so quietly kibum thought the nickname was appropriate.

( korean ) intermediate ; it's kinda necessary for zi qi to know korean to survive in south korea. she's not very fluent, but enough to get by with every day life. she still confuses some of her words and her accent makes it sound like she's cussing every few sentences, but she's still trying her hardest to become more fluent in the language.

 

appearance zi qi stands at 155 cm and weighs about 46 kg. she's small and petite with a-cup s and a not so curvy behind, and it doesn't help with her unnoticeable presence at all. since she moved to south korea, she's taken a liking to dying her natural black hair blonde, wondering if it's do anything to make her features stand out, but it did no such thing at all. the teachers don't even notice the difference and that's where zi qi gets concerned about her lack of presence. she has normal ear piercings and a fair skin tone, darker than pale oh sehun anyways ( so slightly sun-kissed skin ), and has old scars on her knees from a previous fall back home in her hometown of qingdao when she was a young child. also, her current favorite hairstyles are braids and a simple ponytail.

style zi qi's closet mainly consists of comfy shirts and sweaters, wifebeater tank tops, and skinny jeans or cute shorts. she likes a comfortable lifestyle but since her mother is the owner of a boutique, she manages to also have some fashionable looking clothes in her closet as well like laces and cute dresses. she also wears some designer shoes or comfy boots but tries to not wear any tennis shoes unless it's for school and gym activities.

personality upon first ( real ) glance, nobody would expect zi qi to be anything close to spectacular. sure, she has the blonde hair and is close friends with the school's resident flirt and fellow member(s) of the hollaback club, but besides that, there's nothing very noticeable about her. she's friendly and kind towards others, easygoing to approach and talk to and saying and doing what needs to be said and done when it comes to conversations and activities going around the school. she's silently caring towards her friends, just like everybody else. the only difference others find out about though is that she's exceptionally quiet in the way she moves and has a demure voice while talking. but when she talks, others around her attentively lean in closer and quiet down to see what she is going to say. ( "because when she speaks, it's gotta be important, right? especially when her closest friends include minseok and kibum?" )

if she had to explain though, she would probably attribute her quiet presence to who her friends in the school are ( lu han, kim minseok, kim kibum ). because of them, everybody's focus is diverted away from her and onto those three men but she doesn't mind the lack of attention on her. she doesn't like creating a lot of extra attention on herself and she just likes observing their interactions, wondering how they can be so freely outspoken and honest with others. the lack of attention even helps to make her become sneaky around the school, able to move around without disturbing others and seemingly just pop up out of nowhere even though she simply waits to put in her two cents for who knows how long. she's also unpredictable, nobody really understanding her thought process very well, and when she does speak up after general introductions, she has an unintentional sassy and cheeky way of speaking, somehow usually causing laughter to circulate within her friends. considering all this though, her temperament is actually pretty normal compared to other people. she doesn't get mad easily and actually takes some time to get her riled up.

besides all this, zi qi has proven herself to be quite dependable and creative, being someone others can go to ( if they actually happen to find her ) and ask for advice and receive the most bizarre solutions they would have never thought of in the first place. ( "she broke up with me." "have you tried watching action movies and eating ice cream? maybe you'll punch a pillow and that'll help get through with your emotions faster." ) her line of thought sometimes sounds like it doesn't make sense, but after the other person finally decides to go through with her advice, they actually do commend her weird words of wisdom and say they actually helped them after all. she's also shown herself to be reliable for her friends, getting her assignments done on time ( even if she waits until the last couple of days to do it ) and always being there for them when they need it whether it was a sports game or just for moral support. because of this odd combination, she has been trusted with some of the weirdest secrets she has probably ever heard in her lifetime ( except the one baekhyun says on repeat over and over again about student club president member named junmyeon ).
 

( the wall of life ) zi qi has her own little  five foot wide section piece of wall in the hollaback club that she has full of random pictures from her life that she feels like is important to her. she has pictures of all of the members of the club on the wall doing what they love ( yeowang sleeping, jongin hiding under a table, baekhyun with his mouth open, etc. ) and even random landscape pictures of the school and random stores she sees outside of the school.

( thor is my husband - loki too ) zi qi has a huge love for marvel movies and has claimed the thor movies as her favorite of all time. she loves all the sassy, comedic moments and all the action and adventure in it, she just thinks it's pure perfection in two movies. ( lu han heavily disagrees though and says iron man is the best ever made. but whatever. )

( indifference towards skinship ) after meeting lu han the first day of school, zi qi has undoubtedly become used to any skinship shown her way. she doesn't initiate any, but she doesn't brush anybody off when they initiate it towards her. she just simply... lets others do whatever they want and she may or may not encourage them with a simple pat on the head.

( mostly on time ) being as easygoing as she is, zi qi usually shows up to class on time right when the bell rings. she doesn't find a point in getting to class early if she's just going to sit there and miss out on all the random pictures she could be taking outside or in the hallways. the only time she arrives early to class is if there is an exam that day.

( soccer fields ) zi qi really doesn't know when this habit started, but she finds that if she's bored or confused about something, anything, she'll go out onto the soccer field and just lie down there, preferably in the middle of the field if there are no games going around at all. she'll just lie there and stare up at the sky, taking random pictures of it until she feels like she's gotten somewhere with life ( or her boredom has been momentarily fixed... or she's been probably hit on the side by a soccerball by one of the unknowing soccer players ).

( basketball ) if she had to choose one sport she could probably watch forever, she would choose basketball. she feels like she just understands it a lot better than other sports and the players and time clock are constantly moving. they don't take forever to score and there are good chances for going into overtime and sweating buckets just to make sure your favorite team wins.

( mocha bread ) she has a love for many different foods, but if she had to choose one, she would choose mocha bread above all. she believes they're heavenly and is one of the best foods on this planet.

( forever a crush ) zi qi has decided she has had a crush on one zhang yixing from the moment he first called her 'wife.' she even thinks the crush has developed into a philia type of love for yixing the more he calls her his self-created nickname for her. she just thinks it can never turn into more than that because he's not made for her.

( nikon camera ) she has a camera she first bought during her first year at uisan high with her mother's money and has always kept it on her ever since then.

( what instagram ) the only reason she has an instagram account is because kibum made her get one. her account is @zeekey and zi qi thinks the name sounds stupid. she doesn't even know how to use it and just keeps the app and account around so kibum doesn't try to search for her for days and create another one for her. he also likes to tag her in every single picture he updates even if she's not actually in it.

( history ) because her father is a history teacher back home, zi qi has quite a big brain when it comes to anything regarding china's history. she knows every important date and important person in her homeland but has found it to be half-useless in her new classes in south korea. however, she already knows how to compartmentalize the dates in her head, even south korea's history is slowly being injected into her brain and she knows half of what has happened in all its history. long story short, history is probably her best subject in school.

( braids ) she loves braiding her and others hair. back when yifan had longer, black hair, she would ask to braid it during classes so that she wouldn't get bored. she's even asked lu han and yixing but lu han declined stating his manliness was at stake ( but his long hair??? ) and yixing didn't really have a preference at all ( so she braided his during lunch and break times ).

( insensitive people ) if there's one thing zi qi can't handle and truly dislikes almost to the point of hate, it's truly insensitive people. she can't stand how inconsiderate these people are towards others and would actually fight them if the chance provided. it would be easy to beat them up too, considering how her lack of presence adds to her advantage and she can sneak in a kick or two before they notice the murdering glare in her eyes and try to run away.

( nicknames are love ) zi qi has an affinity for giving nicknames to people she finds herself closer to than the rest of the student body. she also loves creating nicknames from a play on the person's actual name ( just like her mother ). such nicknames include:

( peaches ) for huang zitao ; rearrange zitao to taozi and it sounds like 'peach' when translated.
( yang ) for lu han ; they've established themselves as yin and yang when together. lu han is more bright and active ( and considers himself more masculine ) while zi qi is more sneaky and quiet ( and thus more feminine, according to deer face ) ( deer face is another nickname she calls him when she's not really thinking, and it kinda upsets him about it. she just laughs it off )
( star ) for zhang yixing ; 'xing' sounds like 'star' when translated from mandarin, so zi qi calls him her ( little, amazing, weird, loving, really odd because what even is this man ) star.
( sunny day ) for kim jongdae ; because jongdae, it's another little play on syllables and words and the man is like a little ball of sunshine who can make anybody smile with his cute little self.
( sweetie ) for kim jongin ; it's nothing personal. she just couldn't figure out a nickname for the adorable man cowering underneath a table one of the days she visited the hollaback club. she felt like she was talking to a scared puppy and she figured 'sweetie' would help coax him out of his hiding place ( it really didn't, but she's hoping he warms up to it soon before she graduates. )
( cute face ) for oh sehun ; his eyesmile is what kills zi qi and has rightfully declared his nickname as 'hey cute face. shut up.'
( sleeping cutie ) for yong yeowang ; well, yeowang is known for sleeping anytime anywhere, right? and even zi qi has to admit the girl is a cutie especially when she just wakes up from a peaceful nap.
( jjang ) for jang yeseul ; because isn't she the best?
( little prince ) for kim junmyeon ; he once told zi qi that he likes the book 'le petit prince' and since then, she's given him that same nickname. also because he somewhat does resemble a prince if he's not crying or making any type of weird facial expressions at all.
( bass line ) for park chanyeol ; listen to his voice, and he looks like a stick 98% of the time until he takes off his shirt.
( eagle eye ) for do kyungsoo ; anyone can feel his stare from a mile away. at least, that's what zi qi thinks as she watches jongin squirm in discomfort from kyungsoo staring at him from behind.
( recorder ) for byun baekhyun ; zi qi really doesn't know. he's just repeating the same stories and pickup lines over and over again. she thought it fit.
( nameless or galaxy ) for wu yifan ; she only knew his last name was wu when she first saw him at that basketball game, somehow not noticing him at any other time, and thought it was appropriate to call him 'nameless.' she enjoys calling him that too, something about best works of art having no names because the feelings can't be expressed in words. ( wow ) other than that, she also calls him galaxy because of his love for it. it's either that or nameless and yifan always prefers galaxy.

background song zi qi was born as the only child to song feng and zhou lan on a chilly day in qingdao, china on february 4, 1994. she thinks she didn't have a very exciting life growing up, but compared to every one else, she actually did have a pretty interesting childhood. her father is a high school history teacher while her mother is the owner of a well-known boutique in qingdao called orchard love, aptly named as it is a play on her name 'lan,' and is probably the cause of their nice income of money. she isn't rich, but she does have a little more money to her family than most others in their city, causing her to instantly gain the nickname 'heiress of qindao' since she isn't exactly princess material but is considered part of the royal line there.

because of her mother's position, zi qi grew up to be quite fashionable and creative. she had all the nicest clothes and had her mother constantly dressing her up like how she wanted. her father always complained and said they needed to focus on zi qi's school life instead of her fashion and only through so many complaints did zi qi's mother finally come to an agreement and tried to help send their daughter to a nice primary school in qingdao. it was then that they found out that zi qi really had no problems achieving great grades in school, only needing extra pushing to keep her focus on the homework and school work required when they kept receiving phone calls stating that their daughter seemed to have a short attention span for some reason or another ( really, the professor was boring to listen to ).

despite all this, zi qi was still being made to dress up by her mother and was even a little model for her mother's store. it wasn't until she started developing more in her pre-teen years that she started to go through a little independence/rebellion boost and suddenly said she wanted to go to another school away from qingdao. to say her parents were shocked was an understatement but after her father rationally thought it all out, they thought zi qi should be exposed to something more than history and clothes. so after asking around, they heard about a random school in south korea called uisan high school from another woman and that the mother's son was thinking of going there as well considering it isn't very large and seems to be one of the better high schools they could find with little dorms that could house foreign students as well.

that was when zi qi was suddenly sent to south korea on a limited vocabulary of korean the summer before her first year of high school. she had no idea why her parents suddenly threw that on her but considering her mother's little unpredictable behavior, it wasn't uncalled for when she requested to go to school outside of qingdao. she was immediately taken to the dorms after she arrived and had issues conversating with the principal/head of the school that he had to request another chinese student to come in and try to translate half of his statements for him. that was when lu han came into play and the rest of her high school life was history, literally. maybe.

 

best friends: kim minseok / 20 / down-to-earth, dependable, optimistic ( most of the time )
minseok was the first one who discovered zi qi's odd side of life, finding her lying down in the middle of the soccer fields and staring up at the very blue sky simply taking pictures of nothing up there. he became her first korean friend and the best one out of all the others in her life there. he's the one who helped her acclimate more to the korean culture when she first moved and helped her settle into her new life without trying to flirt his way into it ( stupid lu han ). he's also the one who tries to spot her on the fields first before they practice just to make sure she doesn't get injured in the process. ( he's been able to find her 88% of the time there. )

the yang to her yin: lu han / 20 / flirty, funny, charismatic
lu han first met zi qi on her first day of arriving to uisan high. he was the one who helped translate sentences between her and the principal and was probably her first friend at the school. their personalities are quite different - everybody notices him and he considers himself a hopeless optimist while nobody notices her at all and is pretty unpredictable with her actions and words. well, they're not really opposites or anything, but zi qi was feeling really philosophical that day they were studying for their english mid-term and instantly said her thoughts out loud to him, catching him offguard. besides this though, he can be seen hanging all over her half of the time and is probably one of the only reasons others seem to instantly notice her as well.

the vice who tries and keeps zi qi in check ( friends ): kim kibum ( key, for reference ) / 20 / honest, straightforward, stubborn
kibum and zi qi first met when they both joined the photography club at the same time their first year at uisan high. he was one of the few korean students who didn't sugarcoat his words with her and tried to help her through tough love there. if they're seen together, they're usually bickering about some picture or subjects they've used for the pictures or they could be seen laughing together and squealing about whatever they've just taken a picture of. their relationship is based on photographs and they can usually understand each other depending on whatever picture they send to each other through cell phone or print out to leave on the other's desk in school or locker. he was also supposed to become president of the photography club but decided he didn't really want to be in charge of... anything, and opted to be vice president instead, forcing zi qi to become president of the club.

dorm life zi qi mainly keeps to herself, but she's always surprised it only takes a few minutes for her roommate to finally notice her whenever she enters or is already in the room. her easygoing personality even translates to her room so even if she has her stuff where it all needs to be, she doesn't mind if it gets messed up as well. as for her roommate, she doesn't mind what she does as long as she's not insane in the head. she can get along with most people, so rooming with someone else hasn't ever really been a problem, especially since it takes a while to notice her presence anyways.

 

school lifestyle life in uisan high isn't as spectacular to her as one might think. her life is pretty normal there while naturally being overlooked by other students and teachers. she gets her normal a's and b's and tries to pay attention in class when she thinks she needs to. she doesn't get in much trouble for not paying attention in class as much as before, and she's taking it as a good sign for whatever reason.

 

extracurricular activity photography club

life in extracurricular activity zi qi first joined the photography club her first year at uisan high because she thought it'd be a cool extracurricular activity to have and didn't really require much conversing at first ( since she was still trying to beef up her korean vocabulary ). she also didn't really know how to play any instruments and didn't want to take the extra time to learn something she didn't already know. however, it did take some time for her to actually start taking great pictures instead of ones with cruddy angles and colors.

if anybody manages to catch sight of her, she always has a camera strapped to her neck to take pictures whenever she feels like it. she's even managed to become president of the club her second year at uisan high even though nobody really knows or remembers that she is the president, only knowing the vice president by name and face ( because he would scream if nobody knew the almighty kim kibum who goes to the magnificent uisan high school ). probably the only reason she became president of the club is because of all the amazing pictures she takes and manages to get published in the school magazine. she'd like to give most of the credit though to the lovely lu han and his many winks for most of the pictures she has saved on her memory card. ( but in reality, she became president because of kim kibum. he doesn't want to tell her that yet though. he's waiting until they graduate and she can't get upset with him from wherever they're separated from. )
