ACADIA: A DISBANDMENT STORY
wu daiyu

—〈hello sweetheart〉
birth name :: ava wu
other name(s) ::

• wu daiyu | ava's official chinese name, which she goes by when she's in asia

nickname(s) ::

• yuyu | it's a dumb nickname yifan came up with because his nickname is fanfan. only he calls her this (and eventually lu han because of his habit of saying "yo yo yo" many times. now, he can just say "yo yo yo yu yu yu." daiyu's surrounded by dumb people sometimes).
• eevee (or eebeui in korean) | yixuan came up with this better nickname after he became friends with daiyu. eevee is a pokemon who can adapt to different environments and can change easily and is considered a nickname for the name 'ava.' anybody who's her friend can call her this but yixuan always calls 'credits' because he came up with such a popular nickname (not really).
• starling | her love interest comes up with this. with her love of stars and mixture of the word 'darling,' it was only natural to combine the two and call her this.

date of birth :: february 1, 1991
birthplace :: toronto, ontario, canada

hometown :: shanghai, china then beijing, china
ethnicity :: chinese-canadian
nationality :: canadian

languages ::

• mandarin | fluent, lived in china since she was around two years old
• korean | intermediate, lived in s. korea since 2010 and had to learn how to speak the language, takes longer for her to read korean than speak it
• english | intermediate, born in canada and traveled back every three years and her mother is a canadian-born caucasian

—〈beautiful you〉
face claim :: park sora
back-up face claim :: jung yooji (uji, bestie)
appearance :: daiyu mainly looks similar to ji won. she has hazel brown eyes and long dark hair that she dyes light brown (or whatever the company makes her do), and she's generally petite. she weighs about 48 kg and is 155 cm in height. she hasn't had any plastic surgery done (and doesn't want any) but she does have multiple ear piercings like her cousin - two standard ear piercings plus two on the shell of her left ear and one on the shell of her right ear. however, she also has a tattoo like her cousin that runs along her upper back and it's a phrase to complement his. nobody has ever found out what it said, and she doesn't intend on having anyone find out about it.
style :: daiyu's fashion changes day by day. one day, she can wear something completely bizarre or she can wear something quaint and quiet. what she wears depends on the events and what she's in the mood for, but typically if she's at home and has no plans, she wears a loose muscle tank and shorts or sweats, ideal for dancing comfortably. if anything, she doesn't like baring her stomach unless the company made her during the year they were promoting or debuting, and she has a thing for lace.

—〈nobody's perfect〉
personality :: nonchalant, adaptable, devoted, filial, caring, independent, detached

• growing up, daiyu had always shown an interest in many things, although the extents her enthusiasm were always minimal and not really worth putting much effort into. she always had things given to her on a silver platter so she would find things amusing or beautiful for a while (a week at most) before trying to find something else to focus her attention on. because of this, daiyu has become quite nonchalant and indifferent with new toys and items that'd suddenly appear on their living room table or in her room. she simply just got tired of new objects that she just stopped showing much interest in anything relatively different afterwards. nothing came as a surprise for her anymore. this worried her parents of course (even though it took two years max to notice it), so they fruitlessly tried to find something that daiyu could possibly be completely interested in as she grew up.

• first up was fashion and they were thrilled to see daiyu actually interested in it for quite a while, longer than usual, but there was only so much that could happen with fashion that at her young age, daiyu slowly got tired of it as well. she quickly adapted to the trends and what styles fit her best that she ended up trying to find something else that could suit her in the long run. however, when she first saw michael jackson and shinhwa/h.o.t, she instantly became attracted to the different styles of dancing she would look up online or see on television and immediately started focusing her attention in it - it was constantly changing and seemed to have no limits at all. it was like eternal magic and she was completely fascinated in it. of course, her parents noticed her sudden excitement and change and they were the ones who both continued to teach her to pursue something that she will continue to love as she advances beautifully through life.  she became driven in her personal goals and relationships, and it clearly shows especially with her parents.

• daiyu treasures her relationship with her parents, especially being the only child to them. she knows she could have parents who never fought as often or were around more than usual, but with her father's workload and the stress it brought both her parents, she only tries and lessens the stress within their entire family. she became driven to become as independent as she could so they wouldn't need to worry much about her and her future goals and hope that they continue to try and keep the relationship between them alive. they would continue to try and support her with her passion for dancing but she would always try and assure them that they didn't need to spend so much time on her and try to take more care of themselves instead. because of this, she's had to learn how to 'fend for herself' in a way. she knows what she's good at and what she's terrible at, and basically knows what she needs in order to survive. she's a mature thinker but tends to keep to herself so she won't bother those around her.

• in a way, daiyu is also strangely detached emotionally. this might have been due to her growing up and witnessing the working dynamics of her parents and the constant moving, but nevertheless, she's had a hard time admitting her feelings to others and forming a special bond with them. she has no problems becoming friends with others or showing she cares for them in some way, but she just doesn't understand the working inner relationships people have with each other. she would rather act out her feelings for others instead of telling it to them, and those who know her understand that about her.

background :: ava wu came from, what most people would say, an accidental pregnancy. she was born to andrew wu and olivia wu on february 4, 1991 in toronto, ontario, canada after they had been married for only three years. andrew and olivia didn't plan on having any children any time soon, especially since andrew was working his way up the ranks in the largest canadian agri-food company - maple leaf foods inc., but things happened and condoms broke (her mother had a thing against birth control).

her parents will never admit it, but having daiyu added a bit of stress to their lives. they weren't prepared to take care of another person and they weren't even sure how their child's nationality would even go because of their own different nationality statuses. they would have petty arguments and, unfortunately, one of them would usually be out of the house while the other took care of baby daiyu. their relationship became strained but they couldn't deny the fact that their child was precious and theirs. she was truly a product of the love buried deep down but just happened to be conceived in the wrong time.

growing up, ava's father had become quite the successful leader with maple leaf foods inc. and actually became one of the original 'returnees' to mainland china to become the general manager and chief-of-operations for parfums christian dior. even though ava just turned two in 1993, her father immediately left to go back home to shanghai, china with his wife and daughter where he successfully established the dior line all across china. despite this though, it was clear that ava and her mother were outsiders to most of the people in china. her mother was clearly of another race and still had trouble speaking basic mandarin while ava was becoming confused on what languages to speak while at home. this caused ava to barely speak and unknowingly cause more stress between her parents. (she eventually ended up surrounded by family members who spoke mandarin, so she would learn to speak it but understood whatever english her parents (mainly mother) would say.)

when her mother realized this driving wedge between her and her husband, she was the one to come up with the plan for her and her daughter to return home to canada every three years, hoping to still keep the love blooming between her entire family and help ava with learning english ("distance makes the heart grow fonder, right?"). the constant traveling and exposure caused daiyu to become enamored with many different places and things, especially because of her father's continuing growth in income and ability to provide whatever they wanted, and soon enough, she was able to focus her interests in fashion. but because she was so young, fashion could only go so far and she would get tired of the new trends within a few days.

when she returned home to shanghai with her mother in 2001, she discovered her father left lvmh and joined sony music group as the vice president. this was where she first discovered the wide range of music and dance that was present all over the world, especially when she first saw michael jackson and some kpop group by the name of shinhwa on television. after her first discovery, every time she saw somebody moving, it always resembled some type of dance move she's seen before and slowly yet surely, she fell in love with dance. her parents noticed this while their whole family was together in shanghai and they heavily discussed the future prospects of what this meant for their daughter. they both thought she would have done something with fashion because of her father's work line and her initial attention to it, but her interest in dance was completely different.

after a couple months (or a year), they decided to send her to the best dancing school in china (since her father wanted his daughter closer in case she needed any financial help). it was then that they enrolled her to the beijing dance academy in the haidian district that same opening year and her mother accompanied her to beijing, obtaining a work visa to work as an english teacher in the nearby haidian foreign language shi yan school in beijing while ava was in school. there, ava specialized in ballet and performance but continued to try and expand other forms of dancing for herself. in 2005, ava's father eventually left sony music group and rejoined lvmh as the group head for china, ensuring another large increase in his salary and making everything for ava and his wife so much easier to get by.

while living in beijing, it was there where she met lu han because of mutual friends (and her mom being one of his teachers) and yixuan who would travel to beijing at seemingly odd times of the year. yixuan made a bigger impact on her life compared to lu han because yixuan was the one who brought ava (or daiyu now since she lived in china) to the keep on dancing (kod) street dance contest in the city. it was then that she figured out he usually came to beijing just to participate in the contests and have fun. because of him, she would join in on some of the dancing, taking in all the different styles and combining it with her original training of ballet to try and create something else. she didn't participate in any of the contests, simply dancing for fun, but she was surprised when yixuan was suddenly scouted by yuehua entertainment after a short performance he did. she had no interest in being an idol, but it was just the speed at which her friend was scouted that surprised her. nevertheless, she continued on with her daily life dancing her life away at the academy.

it wasn't even a month later when yixuan called her asking if she saw the video of herself dancing at the kod contest earlier that month. she told him she had no idea but he immediately emailed the link to her to which she was surprised at the moves she executed. the next few days, she received another call from some company called xy media. she had no idea who they were but once they emailed her a bunch of information and her mother made her look up the site, her mother pretty much pushed her to go to the company and try to debut as an idol, only being able to sway her when she brought up the aspects of performing in front of others and the possibility of seeing yixuan again and creating choreographies for her own future group some day. it was only after she left to pursue training at xy media and she was old enough to be on her own that her mother left to go back home to canada (after heavily discussing it with her father that she missed home and never even saw him much anyways), moving to vancouver, b.c. so she would still be near family.

(when acadia disbands, daiyu would find time to go back home to canada and celebrate half the holidays with her mother while she celebrates the other half with her father back in shanghai. sometimes, she and her father would go back to canada or her mother would fly back out to china and celebrate big accomplishments together.)

likes ::

• fashion | fashion is always changing and that's what she loves about it now that she's older. especially being related to kris and being andrew wu's daughter, she's always had an eye for fashion and tends to have the same style as kris which changes every day.
• marvel movies | she thinks she got her obsession with lu han and his obsession with iron man. in reality, she just loves how the movies can make her feel the same way every single time she watches them.
• dancers | she loves watching dancers and how their body moves. there's always something fascinating about the muscles flexing on every part of their bodies (and it's attractive).
• crepes | she loves pancakes, but crepes are like the healthier version of it. she tries and eats this every time she goes back home to canada and goes to ihop.
• people with a clear passion for something | like xiumin with coffee, lu han with soccer, daehyun with food, if she sees somebody with a clear love for something specific, she instantly falls in love with their love of something. she loves how their eyes light up and hopes her passion for dance inspires somebody else.

• skinship | growing up, she's had the need to be constantly changing so she's naturally developed the need to have skinship with all her friends to help make her feel more comfortable.
• travel | even though traveling should be tiring, daiyu always found it energizing. she loves to travel and go to new places and experience new things.
• stars | she just loves them for some reason.

dislikes ::

• really spicy foods | she can't even tolerate the spiciness of korean ramyun. it upsets her stomach and makes it cramp if she eats too much spicy things.
• coffee | she can't handle the bitter taste of it, so she opts for the more sweeter drinks.
• excessive alcohol | she'll drink champagne and wine, but that's usually it. it's not a very healthy substance otherwise.
• naggy individuals | they just annoy her to no end and she'd rather punch them away than suffer the continual torture of them.
• arguments | she'll simply stay quiet during those because she always happens to exacerbate it if she joins in. arguments are tiring and she'd rather be the main focus of fake accusations than two people fighting forever and a day.

• horror movies | pls no.
• oranges or anything similar to them | she just doesn't like how messy they are when she peels them.

hobbies ::

• dancing | she feels free and exceptionally happy when she moves along to an internal or external beat.
• yoga | being flexible helps her dancing, naturally.

• cooking | she tends to cook either chinese foods or canadian/american foods depending on her mood.

habits ::

• cooking or constantly moving around when she's bored
• covers when she laughs
• cutting off her hair when there's a significant change in her life
• slips into english or mandarin when she's flustered
• dances when she's frustrated or even over-worked (it's odd)
• tends to sleep-text when she's really exhausted and has just woken up (she tends to check her phone first thing in the morning, so when she sees a new text message, she usually responds back something from her dream, a mixture of three different language, plain gibberish, or something troubling her currently)

trivia ::

• her favorite marvel characters are thor and loki.
• despite her beginnings in ballet, she likes venturing out and doing hip hop and break dancing, combining different styles of dance into smooth moves.
• if asked who is her role model or ideal type now, she would probably say kai of exo. she has a constant admiration for kim jongin. his passion, the way he moves, and his seeming ability to stay grounded despite everything happening so far, she just admires him and would like to take care of him if he ever finds himself in beijing and has free time on his hands.
• she doesn't work out. she naturally eats very healthily and is always dancing, so she gets her lean figure from that.

• even though she has a lot of money, courtesy of her father, she tends to get more simplistic items and clothes. she doesn't like flaunting her status but it always follows her around.
• she has tried smoking before just to see what was so great about it when she was younger. obviously, it wasn't a very good experience because she never wants to touch another one again and always avoids the topic of smoking.
• she has instagram but barely uses it. she only got it on her birthday in 2014, around the same time yifan got one. she doesn't know how to do anything on there but upload pictures if she feels like it: @wdy_star. those who still followed her around speculate and believe her instagram name has to do acadia and her former persona, but in reality, daiyu just liked stars like her cousin likes galaxies.
• she loves dying her hair any color because it's pretty and different. the only time she went back to having dark, natural hair color was when acadia disbanded and she returned home to china.
• she had braces when she was younger. she used to have bunny-like teeth.
• she would like a relationship where she and the guy starts out as true friends first so that there is a basis for a stable relationship in the future (and they would already know what makes the other tick and everything. it seems simpler this way).
• after acadia disbands, she regrets not forming stronger bonds with her members before they separated. she sees her cousin and lu han's struggles and heartbreak and she wishes she could empathize better with them. she's jealous of their bonds with their own group before they left and she's jealous of yixuan with his group when she actually sees them debut. she has just never voiced this out loud (until she accidentally sleep-texts it to somebody).

—〈they matter〉
family ::

• father | andrew wu | july 7, 1962 | group head of lvmh china in shanghai | devoted, hardworking, charming, intelligent | 6/10
people would assume andrew and daiyu would be awkward together considering how busy he is and not being around her as much as her mother, but they have a great relationship. because of him, she was able to discover the world of dance and she's forever thankful towards him for allowing her to pursue it instead of forcing her to take on his huge business like how other parents would do. he's devoted towards his family and always tries to think of the best for them.

• mother | olivia wu | october 23, 1962 | english teacher in beijing haidian foreign language shi yan school | loving, hardworking, loyal, supportive | 8/10
olivia and daiyu have a closer relationship with each other than she does with her father. her mother has always been there for her even though half the time, she still resides in canada. daiyu usually goes to her mother to avoid stressing out her father and they can usually tell each other most things (asides from most boy talk, she'd end up going to yifan for that). she misses her mother when they're in separate countries and she always denies it when her mother asks her about it. daiyu also keeps up her english by talking to her mother in english.

• cousin, best friend | wu yifan (kris) | november 6, 1990 | idol (exo) before actor | quiet, quirky, dumb, a dork yet still cool | 8/10
daiyu and yifan are the weirdest cousins anybody has probably met. daiyu loves dancing and specializes in it while yifan has more trouble dancing than rapping. they're dorky together and people often mistake them as many different things from siblings to boyfriend/girlfriend. daiyu has no trouble calling yifan out on his dumb (and calling him kevin, his original english name) and yifan has no trouble calling daiyu out on how mean she is about things (and calling her ava, her original english name). the relation that connects them is daiyu's father and yifan's mother who are each other's cousins, making them second cousins. (since not much is known about yifan's father, i simply made his mother related to daiyu's father.)

friends ::

• best friend | zhou yixuan | december 11, 1990 | idol (uniq) | quiet, dorky, caring, a bit motherly | 8/10
yixuan and daiyu met in beijing dance academy. yixuan didn't attend the school there like daiyu, but he would always pass by watching all the students and openly becoming friends with those he thought he could befriend (especially those he also saw at all the kod contests he attended every year). daiyu was one of those people and they were easy to get close to, their personalities meshing well together especially with their love of dancing. they would openly greet each other and wave and would even get touchy sometimes just because they were happy to see each other whenever yixuan came to beijing. they would always go out and eat somewhere, and when they both get scouted by different companies during the same year, they always tried to keep in contact. when daiyu debuts first in acadia in 2012, yixuan is still training under yuehua/yg entertainment but they still managed to call each other and everything. it's only until after acadia disbands that daiyu and yixuan actually meet up again in beijing, daiyu not caring that people are wondering who she's with and if he's one of the reasons why she didn't care much in the first place.

• good friend | lu han | april 20, 1990 | idol (exo) before actor | loyal, genuine, easy-going, shy | 6/10
daiyu met lu han through mutual friends during her stay in beijing. it also helped that her mother was his teacher at his former school and that she would see him sometimes in passing whenever she'd visit her mom at work. they're just good friends who will text each other every now and then asking how the other is doing and if they want to meet up for drinks or anything. when daiyu heard that lu han was coming back home to beijing as well, she welcomed him back with open arms and went out with him and his friend lao gao whenever they asked her to.

others ::

• silent admiree (admirer?) | kim jongin (kai) | january 14, 1994 | idol, exo | childish, passionate, hardworking, quiet, mature when he wants to be | 2/10
daiyu and jongin met through kris and kevin while both men were still at sm entertainment and they were all trainees. she was hanging out with kevin and kris when jongin, kyungsoo, and junmyeon met up with them. when daiyu heard jongin was an amazing dancer, she decided to keep a close eye on his progress whenever she could. it wasn't very often she got to see some good dancers considering both kevin and kris weren't very... good. although daiyu and jongin never really got to talk much to each other, she really did commend him on his dancing whenever she got to see it through videos and his eventual debut with exo. she considers jongin as someone she could look up to for dancing and always constantly wonders how he can keep up being an idol with exo's rigorous schedules and not leave like lu han and kris later on.

• the cute sm trainee | kevin shin | december 26, 1989 | model, musician under chitwn music | confident, friendly, loyal | 3/10
daiyu mainly met kevin through her cousin yifan while they were still trainees under sm. she personally wants to thank kevin and repay him for all the kindness he's shown to her cousin and for helping him out as much as he can under the strenuous training of sm. they were each other's support and she was extremely glad kris had somebody with him to help him acclimate to the environment there. daiyu always thought kevin was handsome and it slipped around her cousin, so every time they're all together, kris would either playfully gag around them or keep his cousin far away from his 'brother.' otherwise, they're friendly with each other and are more into the lines of siblingship than any other relationship.

• the odd acquaintance? | song qian (victoria) | february 2, 1987 | idol (f(x)) | motherly, quirky, compassionate | 1/10
daiyu and victoria barely know each other, only knowing each other through yifan and lu han while they were all trainees. daiyu was impressed with victoria's flexibility and dancing and was completely surprised to learn from lu han that victoria went to the same academy she did and was pretty much scouted the same way. since then, daiyu had some weird type of feelings towards victoria because it was like everything about them was the same. they would politely greet each other if they saw each other, but that was it.

potential lovers ::

• zhou yixuan | december 11, 1990 | idol (uniq) | quiet, dorky, caring, a bit motherly
continuing from above, anybody who didn't know them would think that they each had a secret special someone hiding in the crevices of every dark corner. they have a history together (especially with how they got scouted around the same time from the same place) so naturally, they somewhat confessed to each other over the phone how they each thought the other was attractive and super supportive, but they never did anything much after that. daiyu's company had no problem with dating but yixuan wasn't so sure about it because of his company, so they didn't pursue it. their affection for each other simply dwindled down to protective siblings and wasn't yixuan surprised when daiyu started showing interest in his future bandmate.

—〈how strong you are!〉
trainee years :: 2 years

• xy media | late 2010 - 2012

trainee history :: the one thing daiyu seemed to have the most trouble with was the language barrier. she was a brand new chinese-canadian trainee with little knowledge of korean (before she moved to south korea, her mother made sure to try and help her learn some korean with the help of her father over the phone, which didn't amount to much at all) and she seemed to always be on her phone talking to or texting yixuan since his korean friends in china were constantly with him. besides this though, everything seemed to come easy for her from the dancing to the singing lessons even though she was often the subject of bullying from other trainees because of her lack of knowledge in korean and her seemingly easy life. she tried to never let it bother her though because she was only doing this for dancing and being able to perform in front of others one day, her dream of becoming an inspiration to someone else driving her. (she always tried to one-up others in dancing anyways.)
pre-debut activities ::

• n/a

stage name :: daiyu | she thinks it's simpler and she likes to go by this in china/south korea.
persona :: the dancing star
position :: main dancer, vocalist
singing twin :: victoria song (f(x))
rapping twin :: n/a
dancing twin :: victoria song (f(x))

—〈how unfortunate〉
reaction :: "really? well, that's a shame." to say daiyu was disappointed was most probably right. she spent two years of her life training until exhaustion, mentally and physically, and not even a year into their debut, they're already breaking up because of leah. she could've spent that time back at the beijing dance academy working on more things that interested her than embarrassing herself rapping or becoming the target of most questions because of her ethnic background and apparent relation to yifan and lu han. however, she was truly in love with the performance aspect of being an idol and loved showing the world what she has learned over the months. so she was also saddened by the disbandment but tried to not let it show because eventually, she believed the exhaustion would've caught up to her some time (and how right she was when her cousin leaves exo as well).
aftermath :: daiyu pretty much went back home to china after the company closed and her group disbanded. she eventually returned to beijing dance academy to get a bachelor's degree in dance and was able to open up her own dance studio back in shanghai with the help of her father's money (and even a small one in beijing). she would often travel between shanghai and beijing (because of friends and her studio) and even expanded her studio back to vancouver in canada where she had yifan and kevin help choose staff members for the months she would be gone back to china. sometimes, she would go back to south korea just to see how much things have changed and to sneak into uniq's (and exo's depending on love interest) concerts whenever they were there and watch the progression of jongin's dancing transform over the years. she's even hired by some companies to choreograph the newer rookie idol groups in china (most notably in yuehua entertainment, and sometimes south korea) when they catch wind of daiyu's continuing success in the dancing industry. other than doing her dancing thing, sometimes she joins her father's special opening events or dinners and would travel back to canada to visit family..

—〈ah... love is in the air〉

love interest one :: kim sungjoo (idol, uniq) | february 16, 1994
back-up :: zhou yixuan (idol, uniq) | december 11, 1990
personality :: sungjoo is basically an independent and easy-going guy. he's able to stand on his own two feet, as seen as his position as the korean leader of uniq, and able to handle great amounts of stress without breaking under the weight of it. he knows what he can and can't handle and knows when to rely on others when he can't do something on his own. he loves to talk things out with s and would usually pair up with the chinese leader to discuss things and events that need to be discussed. however, if it's something that will just further burden s, he will choose not to add on to it, trying to find a way to deal with it himself or with the other leader so the younger members are still focused in whatever schedule or training they need to do and won't be distracted by it.

being easy-going, he can also be extremely dorky and childish whenever he wants to be despite his role as being a leader. it might be his age as a 94-liner compared to the chinese leader's age of being a 90-liner, but he has no qualms holding back and just having fun behind the scenes with s and staff. his playful nature will usually bring out the playful nature of his leader counterpart and their maknaes, he'll play around with them and mess with them. but when the time comes, they will respect him and he will do the same for them, letting them have their own moments in the spotlight even though he's the main vocalist and tends to be in the spotlight more than normal during stage performances.

first meeting :: when daiyu and sungjoo first met, it was by accident and over the phone. it was about six-eight months after both she and yixuan got scouted by their respective companies that she ended up calling yixuan late one night after practice. they were in separate countries of course (uniq mainly training in yuehua entertainment in beijing), but that never mattered to them. the first time she called, it eventually went to voicemail before she tried calling a second time and somebody picked up the phone. assuming it was yixuan, she started to go off on a rant about how she misses china and the dance academy that she never actually heard the man on the other end mumble something back in response in broken mandarin. it wasn't until he cleared his throat loudly that she stopped talking and things finally clicked in her head when the voice sounded different and the accents of the words were definitely off. daiyu never got the man's name personally, but he immediately told her that he was sorry for picking up the phone but "yixuan-hyung told me to pick it up and that he'll be right back. he just went to get some water." the line went quiet after that until daiyu heard shuffling and yixuan was on the line again and he was the one who told her that it was sungjoo who picked up the phone for him.

this sort of episode kept occurring half the time she called throughout her years as a trainee until right before she debuted. it was then that she was able to finally get a skype call with yixuan that she actually met sungjoo somewhat personally. by then, sungjoo and yixuan were sharing a dorm back in beijing and yixuan cheekily introduced the two of them, claiming it was some type of fate or something. they both called him a dummy but were actually really happy to put a face to the 'mysterious' name.

the story :: ever since that first skype call and meeting, daiyu and sungjoo would try to keep their newfound friendship alive with calls with or without skype. they would be friendly with each other and actually had something in common since they were each in a foreign country and missed their home one dearly. they would tell each other about specialties or festivals/traditions about where they lived and would always update the other if he actually did eat that beijing specialty dish or she actually went to that famous store in seoul. once every year, sungjoo would come home to korea for chuseok and he and daiyu would try and meet up somewhere during his visit, but it never ends up happening due to schedules overlapping or trying to catch some sleep.

and somehow, between the phone calls and video calls, they get closer despite the neverending distance between them, not even being able to meet up before acadia disbands. the first time they really do meet up personally face-to-face, it's in beijing and it's quite awkward, daiyu never taking into account that sungjoo is actually quite tall compared to herself and truly handsome. however, after a few awkward minutes, they both tend to laugh it off and tried to make the best of their short meeting while sungjoo takes his break from training. after that, they would continue to try and meet up secretly (although yixuan always knows what's going on) and their friendship just continues to grow.

relationship :: both sungjoo and daiyu admire each other, sungjoo for his attachment towards others and daiyu with her passion for dance. they're close friends even though sungjoo tries to encourage daiyu to spill out her worries and fears to him and daiyu always refuses, not wanting to stress him out even before his debut. (he ends up sharing his worries and fears to her first before she even decides to share hers with him.)

love interest two :: park chanyeol (idol, exo) | november 27, 1992
back-up :: cha hakyeon (n, idol, vixx) | june 30, 1990
personality :: loyal, friendly, and confident are three words that one can describe park chanyeol. he considers himself the most handsome in exo and believes baekhyun to be his soul mate and kyungsoo to be his best friend. he's a bit on the quirky side, but he's truly like one of the beagles on the beagle line. he likes to have fun and has no reserves about laughing about something that makes him giggle or he finds ridiculous yet is always cautious about harming others, knowing his height is a great factor when it comes to his limbs flailing all over the place.

he's an interesting individual, quite soft-hearted and truly kind (maybe even husband material with his ability to play many instruments and ability to fix many household or electronic things), that fans were shocked to hear his past girlfriend breaking up with him while he was in the process of making her a surprise million ornagami figurines inside a jar to give her on their anniversary. he's thoughtful and filial, always visiting his parents' cafe or restaurant when he has free time, and he's protective of those he considers his closest friends, acting as a physical barrier for them and trying to make them laugh or leave supportive messages on their phones.

however, he can be a bit naive, always giggling when the topic of girls come up, and quite hardworking in that he won't stop until he's got whatever he has completely done. he'll be stubborn in doing certain things and always volunteers himself to do something for others even if he's exhausted or has little to no time at all to actually do things for himself.

first meeting :: chanyeol and daiyu first met through kris while they were all still trainees. kris and chanyeol happened to be in all the same rapping classes and chanyeol would always be the one to invite kris to eat somewhere despite their initial awkwardness of not knowing each other's languages at all. before their debut, chanyeol invited kris, lu han, and the rest of the china line out to eat takeout. he didn't know kris was hanging out with his cousin then so when they both showed up, daiyu was surprised to see another tall man with a deep voice waiting for them. she still had trouble speaking more fluent korean unlike kris and lu han and spoke more like yixing, but they actually (surprisingly) got along really well.
the story :: they remained friends (simply because she's a cousin of chanyeol's kris-hyung and "she must be cool too!") and would text each other every now and then. of course, when they both debuted the same year, they tended to have a couple stages together and would freely greet each other backstage, congratulating the other on debuting and that they were each awesome (with chanyeol bringing up daiyu's interest in jongin's dancing cause the latter to fluster because 'when did i tell chanyeol that?'). however, outside of stages, they never got the chance to see each other, and then acadia disbanded. chanyeol sent a whirlwind of text messages and calls asking about everything and if she was okay but she always said she was fine, "it was bound to happen anyways." he never understood and before they knew it, she was on the plane back to beijing.

after that, the only times they physically saw each other (besides more skype/facetime calls) was when exo traveled to beijing or some other chinese city to perform. daiyu would always be wearing a hat and trying to not dress like she's the daughter of some fashion leader or cousin of the almighty yifan so that she could personally meet them again. sometimes, when she would even travel back to south korea to watch one of exo's concerts and see how chanyeol is doing, surprising him with a phone call telling him she's there.

relationship :: great friends, daiyu is the same with chanyeol like she is with sungjoo. she admires chanyeol's passion for music and tries to keep her worries to herself, especially when kris and lu han leave exo and she can't communicate with him as freely as before until their lawsuits finally close. they'll have short conversations but whenever the topic of kris came up, daiyu would feel awkward and guilty, feeling like she's sticking a knife in chanyeol's chest and twisting it because she's not allowed to say anything more that her cousin doesn't want her saying.

—〈we'll meet again. promise.〉
comments :: so, andrew wu went and completed his university years in canada and stayed quite a while there where he met olivia in university, then things happened and they got married. and yeah. ;; i hope it makes sense and works out and ;; also, i left her story with both sungjoo and chanyeol pretty open at the end so you can just write whatever comes to mind :) and i wrote lu han and daiyu's relationship while keeping my other character and his in mind so idk if it all meshes well together (daiyu and min end up meeting somehow and they're all friends "beijing line heck yeah" even though daiyu is truly from canada and shanghai). this is one hot mess of an app, i hope it all makes sense. i apologize.
suggestions :: n/a; i think you already have everything covered ;u;
scene requests ::

• a scene of daiyu and kris bickering for no reason at all (really, it's a difference in fashion taste)
• daiyu witnessing a fight breaking out within acadia even before they debut and she tells them to focus their anger out on her
• a scene of daiyu actually spazzing about seeing kai dancing (up close? like just in person) the first time she actually sees him
• a scene of daiyu dancing in her own dance studio
• the awkwardness of sungjoo and daiyu meeting up for the first time (cue in silence and admiration because his face is gorgeous)
• daiyu trying to soothe chanyeol when her cousin first leaves exo but tells him she can't say much about him because of the lawsuit
• airport scenes of acadia? if that's possible? or scenes of them in the studio, leaving, etc.
• either love interest confessing in the dorkiest way possible ("so uh. here's a star. because... you're my star?" "...is that a question?" or something like that, haha)
• kevin shin suddenly calling daiyu in the middle of the night complaining about her cousin because he's being dumb again.
• i realize most of these are humor... but i can't think of anything else right now ;; i love drama though and i picture the tired and the lone wolf somewhat relating and being the closest to each other? idk. my brain is kinda scrambled right now ;;
