On the October 31 episode of 'Laws of the Jungle in Solomon Islands', Tao had to bid farewell to the cast as he was leaving for Korea after his brief three-day trip in the jungle.

The cast enjoyed a king fish dinner with Tao, and when Kim Byung Man began to say that it would be Tao's last night, the EXO member burst into tears. He said that he had become so used to the jungle and he learned so much, that it felt sad to go.

To cheer Tao up, the show prepared a surprise for him. Bringing Tao a bottled up firefly that he had helped catch earlier in the show, the crew turned off the lights so that Tao could watch them light up and glow beautifully in the dark. This touching moment can be seen in the clip above.

In the clip, Tao explains that he had always wanted to see fireflies light up in person. He recalls, "When I was young, there was a beautiful [Chinese] story [about fireflies]. Everyday, my mother sat next to me and read it to me. Everyday she would read to me and everyday I would dream about fireflies. I would tell my mom, 'Mom I really want to see fireflies, can you catch one for me?' Everyday I would ask her right before I slept."

He continues to say that his mother told him that he would be able to catch fireflies when he grew up, which he didn't believe. "But when Byung Man hyung said, 'Tao-ya there are fireflies', I thought, 'Ah, my mom was telling the truth. I can finally, personally see fireflies and touch them.' You [the show] gave me my beautiful dream like this. I'm very happy,"he says.

At the conclusion of the interview, Tao suddenly cries even more as he continues, "Honestly the people who have the most difficult time is not us." He continues, "Those who don't have it easy are the director, noonas, and hyungs. Honestly, [you guys] suffered more than us," showing his consideration for the crew who also had to travel with the cast members through the obstacles of the jungle.

Tao promises, "I'll come again so…. Next time I appear, I will become someone who can take care of other people. Hwaiting (Fighting)."
