What Are Feels?

For some reason, I felt the dire need to explain the concept of 'feels' and what exactly causes 'feels', because I didn't discover this term until I stumbled upon what you call 'fandom' and 'fangirls'. And this includes my previous involvement in the One Direction fandom and Hunger Games fandom (I was an avid reader of fanfics for both). Nowadays, feels come with reading Kpop fanfics, so...cue my cheesiness!

According to UrbanDictionary, feels are a wave of emotions that sometimes cannot be adequately explained. In other words, they are feelings you get when you hear/see/touch/read something that is so touching that you can't help but make sounds, curl into a ball, and spazz. 

Since I'm talking about reading fanfics specifically, because this is Asianfanfics after all, I will be discussing the types of stories and scenes that cause feels. And what exactly I do when I read them. 

1. OC/MC is about to a) get hit by a car b) get bullied by a gangster c) get b*tch-slapped, but then out of nowhere comes her manly hero to save the day. 

2. When you read something and fall in love with the writing, only to sense that somebody's going to die in the end (especially your favorite character), i.e. 10080 and Anterograde Tomorrow. However, you keep reading it anyways because of feels, even if it's slightly masochistic. 

3. When the main guy or girl is so oblivious to everything that's going on and you're frustrated as crap. 

4. When you finally see some progress between two characters that have hated each other from the beginning. 

5. When the characters get caught in a compromising position/situation because somebody tripped. in the air~

6. When the ex-girlfriend/annoying queenka/uptight b* comes into the storyline and tries to get the lead man.

7. And when the b* messes with the main character by sabotaging her relationship with the lead guy.

8. When the MC gets amnesia and forgets everything.

9. When your favorite character dies. 

10. When the love confession finally comes.

11. And when the characters share a heated kiss.
