Kris’s departure from Exo was happened almost a month ago. However, still there are a few hot articles about Kris joining some Chinese Entertaiment Company to be an actor. 

Some said they would always support him no matter, some said they wouldn’t accept his unfaithful to Exo and Sm Town. 

I want to speak out my opinion about his leave. 

I know to most of exotics, they won’t accept the fact of without Kris in Exo from now on. It’s hard for me too, cause Kris surely catches my sight the most out of Exo. However, he is not my bias. I like Chen a lot because of his humor, and singing talent. So this blog is written from the point of a Kpop viewer. 

Kris’ leave damages financially Sm Town, and psychologically Exotics. Most of people thought he shouldn’t has left them because Sm Town and Exo bring him fame. In fact, they did.help him a lot to become a shining idol, but he’s already paid back to Sm Town and Exo by what he had contributed. He worked hard, brought benefit for Sm. For your information through what I knew from Korean TV show, studying to be an idol is not free. Trainees have to pay for their classes (singing, acting, rapping, dancing), housing (dorm), beauty (plastic surgery), food by themselves, even though they got accepted to be an idol. I think Sm is just like a school to me. You pay them money to learn idol skill. So, don’t ever think Sm is a charity organization, and their idols must stay with them forever to pay back Sm’s kindness. If you go to a bad school, you’re authorized to leave school or drop out. 

Some opinions of mine are kind of practical (mostly about money) because I’m a office staff now. 

Being idol might be their passion, but your passion won’t keep you alive if you have no money. 

Kris or any Exo member is just like a staff to Sm. They work hard to get paid. If you were Kris’ shoe, and you got a very good offer from other companies like higher income, better promotion, and brighter career, will you stay with your current company (I mean Sm)? I won’t say Sm treats Kris very bad, but not so well. They don’t care much about his health, his career (currently I read an article about Sm rejecting 3 film casting auditions  of Kris while Kris’s under control of Sm). I think Kris knows that he’s not a very good singer, amazing rapper, outstanding dancer. He is just famous for his gorgeous look, and dorkiness. So, if he stayed with them longer, people just would consider him as a handsome Exo member. No one wants to be seen as a flower with no talent. So, he picks acting to be a way for him shining. Even though Exo is close to each other, somehow they have to compete with each other to shine out of 12 members. Fans told him to stay with Exo, I think he wants too, but Exo are just like his colleauges. They couldn’t give him fame, money, and career for no reason. 

Btw, please don’t say Kris is selfish. Selfish is one of human personalities. Are you sure that other members wouldn’t act like Kris if they have a big chance like Kris’? Perhaps, they are waiting for a chance like this. They might or not leave. But everything could happen.   

Just think easily like you’re offered a high position by a better company. Will you leave or stay with them because you love your fellowship here? Who knows your next fellowship in new company is good or bad? Why don’t you give it a shoot? It’s worth to try, right? So do I. Sometimes, I change my job a lot because the company can’t offer me my dream income, dream career, otherwise others can. I love my former co-workers, but my current co-workers are nice too. 

I know the bad thing Kris made is his departure close to their solo concert. That’s a very bad timing. I think Kris did it on purpose but he didn’t mean to harm Exo. He chose the time to stress Sm out to accept and adjust the contract conditions. Unfortunately, Sm didn’t change their mind. The concert was still hold with 11 members. Then it turned Kris into a bad guy in this lawsuit. 

Anyway, I still support Exo because of Chen - my bias and Kris if he is promoted as an actor.
