People's summany; Stubborn, smart, independent, patient, hard-working and determined. A few words many people use to summarize her personality with. Although they do forget with this that she is a very quiet and sweet girl too. She can get attached to people rather quickly, and so do almost anything to make them smile. She isn’t very difficult to please and is known by people because of her everlasting smile and laugh. She isn’t a person who talks easily about her own thoughts or feelings with others. She always has a lot of things on her mind and most of the time just lacks the words to express her thoughts and feelings properly. That’s the main reason why she’s so quiet around others.

The truth; Because of her seemingly vexing appearance, most people like to assume that she isn't someone that they could get along with. It does not help her case that at times she can be extremely shy to the point where speaking is either inaudible or in shambles. In some cases, she is known to get upset at herself suddenly for ruining a conversation with a new person, stepping out of the room and hoping that the other would forget about how awkward she must have been. Growing up, she had always been quiet and to herself.. making her coming off to being the outcast in her boisterous, outgoing family. Honestly, she wished that she was not this bashful or appear to be anti-social; though it felt it was embedded in her genes to be this way. When she would overcome it entirely was anyone's guess. When her shyness is pushed aside, when speaking to those she has become comfortable with, she is a friendly, nonsensical character. She will attempt to joke, enjoys a good laugh and endless conversations about ..anything. (Her shy complex doesn't allow her to say much, but when she does, man, does she.) In the case of romance, it was the sole reason why she had received that letter to begin with, his game, simply put, was terrible. She would hope that she could at long last find someone who can understand have patience with her shyness and learn to love the woman within.

Get deeper; She is a caring person and emotionally involved with others. She can see small details in the behavior of others where most of the people will look over it. Unknown to many, she has a soft spot for kids. She cares too much for people -in general- to actually cause them harm.She has a strong believe in the good of people and so is easy to manipulate if you really want to do so. If someone hurts her friends, she holds this grudge for years. This can cause her to make rash decisions, and not think twice. She hates being a leader and making decisions under pressure as well. She can't make decisions for others. If she gets too angry the tears begin to flow and never seem to stop until she is satisfied. She hates being talked down to. It makes her feel like she is worthless and can put her in a state where she is completely frozen and feels as if her body is made of led. Sometimes she can overcome the words that are being thrown at her but other times she can’t. To match her insecurity she can’t concentrate really well. She is a filial daughter, family is very important to her. She never meet anyone she don't like at the first glance, anyone considered as a friend for her. Friend is a term she use very loosely. Onstage; Call her pretty bold because she talks lot more than normal this time. She is not spunky or all the things that calls outgoing, but at least she is not that awkward anymore. She acts mature than her age may I add. With smile so healing, this girl will indeed brighten up your life. She is full of motherly act, she is caring, often take care of her group members. On reality show, she is how she is offscreen, but in a different scene, she keeps aside to give the other members to talk and present themselves. If she's around people whom she doesn't really know, as example other idols out of her friends or sunbaes, she will be quiet, truthfully her friendly onstage personality will shine more when she is with her own members.

background ::

Gumi was born in Busan, South Korea by Deguchi Tsukina and Dae Jeongho on April 25. She is the middle child of three, between her older sister and her younger brother and the siblings lived contently in their middle class home for the first four years of her life. By the time Gumi turned five, her father received a job offering in Seattle, Washington, where the Dae family moved shortly into. At her young age, the other children in her class made fun of her accent, not only it being foreign for their likes but also too difficult on the ears, as her accent was a clashing mix of Korean and Japanese. Alas, her insecurities gotten the best of young Gumi, thus bringing her shyness at its beginning. Years continued on, and slowly but surely her English skills began to improve for the better of others and herself; however, even so the accent she had taken with her still remains.

In her early teens, she felt frustrated at herself for not having a more outgoing personality, no matter how hard she tried. It was not until she was on her way home when she noticed that the dance hall was open enough for her curiosity, looking in, she found her new passion. The dancers moved gracefully, in beat with the booming music.. the feeling left her in awe. From that moment, she distracted herself from the outside world of socializing and kept to herself, spending her time at the gym or in the dance hall. No one had actually seen the youth dance, so it was anyone's guess if she had a genuine talent in or or not. She liked to think so in any case.

Because of her overwhelming shyness, Gumi did not make many friends. She had a few acquaintances, but it usually did not go any further than that. As far as relationships went, she had never been in one. Naturally, she had always had a fondness for the opposite but what alarmed her was her mutual attraction also towards her own gender. However, living in a household where supporting what her father would call "that nonsense" made it difficult to depict whether or not liking both es would be a good thing or not; on that matter, she chooses to ignore it. For that matter, the youth just wants to find love.. in any form. Now if only she was bold enough to initiate it.

The family came back home to Busan when she was 19, she was spotted by the talent agency, TS Entertainment, which earned her a lead role in a CF at the same year. The agency saw potential in her and offered her singing and dancing lessons, opting to professionally train her in a singing career. The offer was accepted by her mother, reasoning that she might be more social involved. She began appearing in television commercials. She first appeared in a Lotte commercial with Secret member Han Sunhwa. The agency enrolled her in vocal and dance classes, including hip hop and jazz.

how you met :: They met at hospital. At that time Gumi hurt her ankle and Kris hurt his back. They were sent to the same hospital and were waiting for their turn to meet the doctor besides each other. They were both still trainees at that particular time so they didn't know know each other. Gumi was humming a Michael Jackson's song, Beat It, quietly but still audiable by Krisi. A small miracle, he suddenly asked if she likes MJ out of curiousity. She said, "Not really." She gave a short answer because of the sudden question asked to her. He just nodded and they both back to the silence. Gumi kept on looking at Kris's face, something about his features attracted her, might be because of he is hot. Kris on the other felt the girl's stare and is getting uncomfartable, I swear he already got a hole on his face due to that intense stare. "I think Michael is one of the most remarkable performer, not just a singer or a dancer, but as a performer as a whole." She said with a smile and with that they somehow manage to make the conversation going.
how you act around each other :: Being a fan of good looking guys, Gumi can't help but to adore Kris as well. Gumi is shy of expressing her fangirl adoration over Kris though. As for Krisi, he is always ready to help her anytime. Kris also likes to tease Gumi whenever he has the chance, offstage wise especially when no one else around. Sometimes, Gumi denies the friendly gestures, but she really does like them judging by the way she attaches herself to the tall tower. Kris even does the old school trick of distraction then putting the arm around the other’s shoulder. Very smooth and open minded, it is something that isn't what he does not usually does, if we consider his personality.

But when he's mad, he tends to be very rash, often acting before he thinks and landing himself in more trouble than before. how you met :: They first met when she just started her training. They were chosen to be partners for a CF, it was Gumi's second CF. The producer feels the chemistry from them and considered them a pair and always featured them together in commercials, insisting he won't cast one without the other... so they saw each other a lot.
how you act around each other :: They used to date before but Daehyun called it off right before he debuted with BAP with an excuse that he want to focus with his work. Moments between these two seem few and far in between, Daehyun often glances at Heesun secretly. They both give off such awkward and uncomfotable auras. Daehyun often tease Gumi when they met, trying to ease down the atmosphere. Daehyun actually has the ability to get a rise out of Gumi in public, especially when Gumi is in her quiet mode. Daehyun pestering Gumi greatly affected her.

At dorm, Gumi wakes up claiming to be very hot and starts to strip off her clothes. Shock and blushing, the girls look at their suddenly provocative leader.
•Sunhwa hear a song from a practice but know one there, when she peak around, she see Gumi, sitting down hugging her knee at the corner, crying. She is frustrated because her singing doesn't turn out well.
