Background :
She was born on May 15, 1993 in Seoul, South Korea. She is the only child in her family. Though born in Korea, she moved to Texas at the age of 9 and stayed there for 5 years before going back to Korea. Whenever people ask where did she grow up, she will say Seoul is her hometown, since she was raised there the longest. She is of Korean descent through her mother's side, and through her father's side, who was in the U.S. Armed Forces in Korea, she is of German and Italian descent. That's explain why her look is more to Korean, because the Korean genes is 50% in her. Sometimes she does feel weird, because she is a mixed child unlike most of the other children around her but her parent taught her to ignore others' look and focus on self.
She got scouted by an acting agency at a young age. Originally, she debuted in the media industry at the age of 6 as an English tutor on children TV shows, in channels such as Arirang TV and KBS. She stopped her carreer in Korea prior to her moving to Texas, and all of that time her family stayed in army units. She often went to the Texas Music Centre with her school friends after school. It is a place where teenage bands and even dancing groups do performances, especially during weekends. It is a small stage for the youngsters who inspired to be idols in Texas, a place where they will hang out and perform. She was inspired to be a vocal trainer. Watching people sing, she always admiring good singers and thought that people behind those singing idols' success are much cooler.

Upon first glance, she presents herself with an idol aura. That may be the case when we’re talking about normal civilians being around her. When she is with her close friends however, it turns out that she is not entirely scary and intimidating, but in fact just a little bit scary and intimidating.
The key to her personality is that she is a free spirited. Conformation is her curse. Rules and regulations are made for other people. When they were 8, Lauren moved to Hawaii for a year and half following her family before returing to Korea. When she returned, Mari already moved to Texas until 3 years later. Daehyun is a soft spoken, quiet guy, slow to snap but quickly to react. If he's not aimlessly wandering around, he's probably just sticking to your side to wherenever you go. With this demeanor, he's a person that does not speak unless spoken to. It's easier for him to keep a conversation going when someone else started it. When he speaks, he has a habit of sounding quite rude, witty, and straightforward, but his actions and expression usually gives away his true emotions. Despite this, he is a guy who quick to smile and is a good listener. He smiles when he's being yelled at or he simply return someone's smile politely. But he was never the type of person to actually respond to someone verbally. He is afraid of saying the wrong thing.
Youngjae can be moody. He will often criticise himself as well. He believes that if people put in the effort, then anything is possible. He will often push himself to try to get himself to do better. He's very competitive and hates losing. He talks about other things but never talk about himself and his home life. Only a select few knows about him. And if he notices that he get comfortable to someone, he will start to open up. Friendship is not only a word for him, when the bond between him and another person is starting to grow, he gives his everything to keep it up and makes it stronger. How you met : Met at a singing competition held by TS for the trainees there. Mari was one of the participant while Daehyun, along with Zelo were there watching the whole performance. Zelo already know her from before. Daehyun was really mesmerized by her voice. Later, after she finished perform, Zelo called her to meet them, he introduced Mari to Daehyun. Donghae never know that Zelo has a pretty trainee who can rap as a friend, was caught offguard. Their first meeting went well and they eventually grow closer.
How you act around each other : Daehyun always shows off his awkward, shy smile. He declared that Mari is his ideal type to s without her knowing that ofcourse. Daehyun will be a stone whenever he makes a skinship interaction with Mari. How did you get in the agency? : Lauren's mother was the key connection between Mari and her joining the group, she heard about the audition through her friend who worked at TS as a composer. Mari auditioned and joined the company with Lauren when they were 15. She didn't had the intention to be an idol at first but after as the time went by, she eventually found her dream.
How were your trainee days : Her singing is well praised by many, and this is no secret. However, there seems to be a slight misconception, or so we’ve noticed. Her singing is not that phenomenal; it’s her charisma and attitude that are so readily apparent that make her singing so good. She may not be the most heart wrencing singer, and neither is she the best at skill or technique, but you have to admit she has undeniable and amazing stage presence. She had won first placed for many singing competitions conducted by TS for it's trainees. She's talented but her personality is sometimes unlikable. Since she's a bit of strong character, many trainees thought of her as y.
