rant begins //

okay, so i am so over exo right now. i am over exo, i am over their fans and i am over their popularity. i will tell you right now, i am a fan of exo. i like their music, i think the whole style of their image is creative and i think that their mvs are well thought out (for being in boxes anyway), but i am so sick and tired of them being the centre of attention all the time. at first, it was okay. they were new, needed spotlight to gain fans and boost their popularity and that was fine; it was a neccessary thing. but when other groups (aka super junior, fx, shinee, etc) started being dropped back or ignored because of exo; that's a no-no.

i understand that they're young and handsome men, who are well known noona-killers and all around heartthrobs, but wake up and take a look around. who were you fangirling over before exo came along? i am sure, that one day, another group may come along and be more popular and more exposed than exo and this is not me being prejudiced against exo (again, i have nothing against them individually), but the unneccessary hype is literally driving me to insanity.

sasaengs, rowdy fans, ill-mannered fans and just the exo-craze in general, is really enough to turn anyone away from joining the exo fans. and yes, before you all go ape at me, i realise that there is a handful of exo fans that partake in this atrocious behaviour and that most of you are lovely, respectable and decent people (i am friends with plenty of exo fans), but the ones that don't keep themselves in line are the ones getting the spotlight and putting your otherwise perfectly normal fandom to shame.

and i must confess that this rant is mainly caused by the extensive array of exo fanfictions on aff.

it is exhausting, when you log into aff and every single upvoted story or random daily story is related to exo. i am very sorry if this offends people, but there are plenty of other stories out there, of other groups that deserve that spot, because they are beautifully written or are just a very nice read and this is my assumption, but when a writer works hard on their story (not saying exo writers don't), have lots of subscribers/comments/upvotes and are dreaming of the day when their story gets featured, only to be pushed out by some exo story, that could possibly have either been there before or have a similar plotline to a story that has been there previously, it is honestly upsetting.

and yes, to those of you wondering, this has happened to me. but anyway, as much as i enjoy listening to exo's music and will continue to support them by buying their albums every once in a while, please please do not bring them up when speaking to me, unless to ask general questions and no more. i can not handle any more obnoxious obsession with exo.
