FOOD!

Hey Everyone,

Gosh that kid is adorable. Anyway, if you have been reading my blog for a while, then you know about the story Inbox Road and about the fun I had writing that story with Wolfburglar. It is probably my best work because it was only half mine. But what I never told anyone until yesterday is that we wrote a sequel of sorts with the most angsty of endings. Yep, we did. And I put up a poll to see if/how I should post the alternate sequel part 2 continuum (see, I am so bad with titles). The poll was posted here and I had exactly two votes. The first was to post the rest of the story with the original story, instead of creating a sequel. But the other vote was...."Forget the story, let's write a cookbook!"

Dude, I had a light bulb moment. Why the hell not? Listen, I am not a cook. I am an eater, but certainly not a cook. However, I believe in trying anything once and with all of the awesome stories I read on AFF, I am dying to try some of these exotics flavors and tastes (exotic to me since I live in the woods of rural U.S.) mentioned in the stories. So here is the idea. Let's do an AFF cookbook! The format is super simple. I am looking for submissions of recipes. I will post each recipe as its own chapter along with a little information from the person who submitted the recipe. For example, if SuzyQ submits a recipe for apple pie, then I will post her recipe as well as a link to her AFF profile and I will promote any project she wants to bring attention to. The next chapter would be me, Shawol360, describing my experience preparing and eating the dish along with some pictures of the ingredients and the finished product.

What do you think? Sounds fun, right? And I will try any food you want with only three rules:

1. The recipe can't require a bunch of special cooking instruments. I know that some of you live in countries where cooking a dish usually involves using special nets, pots, grills or bowls. Well, I ain't rich and I can't buy a bunch of cookware for this project so please include alternative cookware that a US shopper could easily obtain.

2. The recipe can not have more that 20 ingredients. For some Indian dishes, spices are important and I understand that. But I am going to have to buy these ingredients and at 3-5 dollars a spice bottle, it can get a bit pricey and some of our readers may be a bit budget conscious as well.

3.  Keep it simple. Simple ingredients, with simple instructions. We all have our special take on certain recipes and for our family, it is the norm. But approach the recipe like it is someone's first time cooking or trying this dish, because it may very well be. Give the basic version of the dish with SUGGESTIONS of alternate preparations. This will allow everyone to have fun with the food and make it a lot less intimidating.

I can't wait to hear your feedback and ALL COUNTRIES are encouraged to participate. Please leave your comments below and if you are interested, PM me and we will get started! Happy Eating!

Quick unnecessary suggestion: what if the cookbook were written in the style of a fanfic? Like, each member of SHINee telling us about their favorite thing to cook. That ensure easy recipes AND entertainment I LOOOL
