It came in the mail!!!!!

This is my signed Wonder Girls cd.

Now I know that it is probably not that exciting to most of you, but this is a big deal for me for a number of reasons. First, because it is a SIGNED kpop cd. The Wonder Girls actually TOUCHED this cd. Secondly, because no matter what happens with this group, they will always be the ones who took my Kpop ity with the following song.

It was such a catchy song and cool concept and from then on, I needed to know more, possess more, experience more kpop. There are a lot of reasons that things become dear to us and why we drift away from certain things. Time has a funny way of changing our perspective on the way things were and for me, I now see that era as a golden time for kpop. It was right before the debut of SHINee and the breakup of DBSK and departure of Hangeng from Super Junior. It was a time when Kpop was all about the concept, the quirkiness and being that bridge between American music and J-pop.

Please don't think that I am downplaying the merits of new groups like EXO, Block B, VIXX or any one else. But noone can deny that the scene has turned somewhat dark in recent months. Still, I adore  kpop above all over genres of music and will support the art form until I get too old to appreciate it.  Still, even when that time comes, I will have my memories...and my SIGNED Wonder Girls cd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
