JoKwon is my spirit animal.

For anyone concerned about my use of the phrase, spirit animal, just know you are a party pooper!

But back to the subject at hand...JoKwon is my spirit animal. He is the me I would be, but for my current mortal entrapments. He is the very essence of freedom and beauty and we would all due with trying to be more like him and less like these other homophobic fails that continue to harass this man for living his life and his truth the way a real queen is supposed to.

I follow JoKwon on Instagram because his life is EVERYTHING. But because he mostly writes in Hangul, I can't really read his captions or the comments either. But thank the clouds above the Gobi desert that I'm Hangul illiterate because I would have burst a blood vessel reading all the hateful words people have left for our pretty, porcelain-skinned prince. And all because of this:

The priestess of Temple Fabulous is starring in the musical 'Priscilla, Queen of the Desert' and the haters just can't take. They can't take the endless servings of Face:

They can't take the Fierce:

And they can't take their own confusing thoughts of attraction.

But because JoKwon is that shining beckon of light in a world darkened by other people's ty dispositions, he has issued the kind of response that only the truly benevolent can pen.

Now, all fangirling aside, I am so ing proud of JoKwon that words really fail me. He is doing what your closeted bias could never do ----he is living his damn life like it is his own. He isn't trying to deny himself the opportunities that youth and celebrity offer him, but at the same time he is not letting the false idol of celebrity keep him from expressing himself or from being a role model for that effeminate Korean kid that isn't seeing idols scrambling to play him in t.v. and on stages. JoKwon is telling that beautiful tomboy that she doesn't have to answer questions about why she never wears dresses, but rather concentrate of the reason she has to smile everyday. JoKwon is making a move that, while others may interpret to be the harbinger of other revelations, is simply him saying that he does have to say anything. JoKwon could marry a man tomorrow and he need never issue a statement, hold a press conference or even acknowledge the event even happened. He is doing what we all should be doing: Letting the life you live speak for who you are. If you are good, do good things. If you are an artist, create works of art. If you are gay or straight or aual, just live your life and let your actions be your only response to negative nancies that will try to use your words to defame you and tear you down. You only have a limited time on this plane of consciousness. Don't waste a moment. Surely JoKwon is not.

FYI: The musical is based on an Oscar-winning movie (costume design) that is everything and then some:

JoKwon is paying the role formerly played by the gorgeous Guy Pearce.
