rei has long dark brown hair (somewhere near her mid-back) with turquoise highligts. she has single eyelids, but if she opens her eyes wide enough, it gives the illusion that she has double eye lids.

• STYLE—

rei is a creative girl, but she isn't much of a fashionista. contrary to what society often stereotypes girls as taking forever to choose an outfit, rei is more like a boy when it comes to that - she just takes the first thing she sees and puts it on. she does, however, make sure that her clothes match and would put on some accessories as well. she usually wears simple one-coloured shirts with black shorts, and a long necklace. she either wears sneakers or slippers. rei is rarely seen in a skirt/dress and heels (even though she kind of needs the added height).

• PERSONALITY—

since she was a child, rei has always been a creative girl that would easily think nout of the box and even solve problems that may seem really difficult to others. along with that, she's quick-witted and can come up with solutions even if she was pressed for time or given a lot of stress. however, because of this, she can sometimes think a little too highly of herself. she has an immense love for art, and can usually be seen in art exhibiton. she herself paints and draws as well, but doesn't think very highly of her art and therefore doesn't really like to show it to others.

being the 'odd one out' of her family, she hates it when others don't bother listening to her. hence, she tends to be very opinionated and stubborn - once she sets her minds on something, it's quite hard to change it. rei also tends to be very impatient, and would sometimes act without thinking. she often does this, and only starts to regret her actions after she's done them. she has tried to stop this bad habit, but seems like old habits die hard. this also applies to when she speaks. she often blurts out the first thing that comes to her mind, completely forgetting the situation and the people she might offend, only to slap her hands over a second after the words leave. this makes her really random and talkative.

lastly, rei is a very friendly person and gets along well with pretty much anyone. but even with her friendly and jovial side, she usually finds it awkward and uncomfortable when she has to comfort others. she's not always happy, but when she's sad, no one would really know because she's good at concealing her emotions. the best she can do while comforting someone would be to pat their back and whisper "it's okay, it's okay."

• BACKGROUND—

rei's birth father left before she was even born, hence her last name is her mother's. she doesn't know much about her father, therefore doesn't really detest him or anything, unlike what most people like her would feel. her mother , who had been disowned by her family for having a child out of wedlock. having no where to go, her mother crashed at a 24-hour library, where she met rei's step-father, who had gone to japan in search for japanese language books. her step-father was planning to take up japanese, hence took a week's break from his job to go to japan for a holiday with his family. there was a slight language barrier, but when he found out about rei's mother's plight, he felt bad for her and decided to help pay for a cheap motel to stay in for the night.

over the course of the week he was there, he seemed to keep bumping into rei's mother while they were out shoping and looking for a job respectively. slowly, they started becoming friends and rei's step-father's break was extended by another week. bit by bit, they felt the connection and rei's mother followed her step-father back to korea, where they had gotten married.

rei was never really close with her step-brother, since he pretty much hated her and her mother for coming in to their family. his biological mother had passed on due to a sickness a year before, and hated it that her mother was now replacing his mother's place in his father's heart. hence, they are rather hostile and do not speak much with each other. her step-sister, however, was very welcoming of her and her mother, and would try to make both mother and daughter feel at home. because she's a dance teacher, she would often dance at home when thinking up of choreography, which is where rei's liking to watch others dance came from.

when rei was really young, she used to be a habitatual liar and would often conjure up weird and random stories to her family. after quite a number of "my eye hurts! i think i'm going blind! photophobia's not a joke!" and "i didn't take the cookies! someone sneaked in!", her parents decided to send her for counselling. hence, when she was young, her family didn't really trust her. but after counselling they all started to believe what she says, knowing that she has gotten rid of her lying habit.

• SECRETS —

rei's love interest is actually her sister's ex. they broke up because rei had sabotaged their relationship, making both parties misunderstand each other. her love interest doesn't know that rei and his ex are step-siblings and rei wants to keep it that way.

how she sabotaged them was because rei and her sister's ex are quite close, and she managed to get ahold of his phone. she quickly loaded a few girls' photos inside, and changed her contact name to another name. she then deleted all the messages she shared with him so that no one would know it was her and proceeded to constantly text him acting as if he was cheating on her. rei's sister is quite insecure, so the moment she found out about the messages and pictures and confronted him about it, he got really upset and they ended up breaking up with each other. striking when the iron is hot, rei pretended to be the kind sister and friend to the both of them, lending a listening ear and giving them a shoulder to cry on. bit by bit, her sister's ex started to fall for her and the two of them started dating without rei's sister knowing.

[edit] it may seem to be a little extreme and out of character for rei, but she feels that she's the one that should be with him instead of her step-sister. her step-sister only met him when he kept standing outside the class to chat with rei. as mentioned in her personality, she would act without thinking and only feel remorseful afterwards. she kind of regrets what she did, but feels that it would be the best if both parties don't know what happened and just carry on with their lives as it is.

he doesn't know that rei is his ex's step-sister because rei only met him ouside of home. whenever he came over, rei would lock herself in her room because she didn't want to see what her step-sister and boyfriend would be doing.
