FASHION STYLE
How does your character dress?
Hui Xin's style is mostly simple and casual. Used to the weather in sunny Singapore, Hui Xin has an array of shorts and tank tops that she shows off during the warmer months. consequently, she gets very affected by the cold and is often seen wearinga thick down jacket or parka even when the temperature is around 8 degrees. ever since coming to Korea, she has been influenced by Korean fashion and has been experimenting with two-pieces and sweet pastel colours. already towering over her friends in flats, Hui Xin mostly wears sneakers or sandals - she only has a pair of wedges that she wears for more formal events. Hui Xin is also weirdly obsessed with rings, and will always be seen with a midi ring and normal ring on her right index finger.

PERSONALITY
(+) loud, free-spirited, good listener, determined, humble
(-) indecisive, rash, sarcastic, doesn't express herself well, dense
(±) talkative, creative, random

+LOUD: being the oldest at home, Hui Xin was always in charge of her younger siblings. this required her voice to be slightly louder for her siblings to listen to and obey her. long after they've grown up, Hui Xin has never been able to rid herself of the habit of talking rather loudly and has to always be reminded to quieten down. however, this loudness also gives her an air of friendliness as others tend to be attracted to her boisterous laughter and jokes. she's also considered a moodmaker and someone that can dispell awkwardness as she's able to continue talking on and on about anything and everything under the sun, enabling people to relax and integrate themselves into the group.

+FREE SPIRITED: Hui Xin holds strong to the quote of "worrying does not rid tomorrow of its problems but it rids today of its energy". and hence, she does her best not to be excessively worried over the things she can't control, like how the teachers would like her new choreography for the evalutaions or how her rap teacher would react to her messing up her raps. she still does her best for everything, of course. her carefree nature makes her someone other trainees go to when the stress of trainee life builds up as they know she'll be able to cheer them up and give them the much needed energy to press on with the arduous trainee life.

+GOOD LISTENER: despite Hui Xin being able to talk everyone's ears off, she's actually a really good listener when the situation calls for it. she may not always be able to give good advice, but she's always there for others when they need someonne to talk to or just someone to rant to. sometimes, she might give her own input in the form of advice or a different perspective to a certain situation at hand, helping other trainees clear their minds and retain some form of sanity in the highly competitive world. being tall, Hui Xin is a great hugger and is always there for other trainees when they just want a shoulder to cry on.

+DETERMINED: being the first foreign trainee in Jellyfish is no small feat. it had taken her great courage and effort to be noticed by a rather small company that didn't focus too much on the chinese or english market. Hui Xin has auditioned for numerous companies and also taken up various classes to improve her skills. despite mockery from naysayers and the low chances of actually making it big, Hui Xin has been able to persevere through it all, finally landing a place in Jellyfish. her determination was also what helped her improve her korean by leaps and bounds after becoming an official trainee in Jellyfish. once she sets her mind on anything, she will never give up.

+HUMBLE: Hui Xin is not only the first foreign trainee and artist in Jellyfish, but she is also the maknae and one of the first few Singaporeans to make a debut in the kpop industry. hence, this gains her a lot of recogniition and media play easily making her one of the most popular in LOCK. however, she takes all compliments humbly and politely, never really seeing herself to be as amazing as the press mentions her to be. in all honestly, she's rather worried that her popularity may affect the group dynamics and sincerely wishes for the public to pay more attention to her bandmates rather than just herself.

-INDECISIVE: one of Hui Xin's biggest flaws is her indecisiveness. she's pretty easy-going with everything and never likes the responsibility of making decisions or the worry of forcing others to just go with her choices. hence, she's always shoving the decision-making to others which tends to be quite infuritating because "oh my gosh we're just eating lunch. can you just make up your mind????"

-RASH: when Hui Xin gets upset, she's one to do things without thinking them through her head. she's one to snap harshly at others, often hurting feelings and straining friendships. it doesn't happen often, but she has the tendency of being violent, like slamming doors, punches, kicks, ripping up paper, etc. she was once scolded for being so destructive and hence her violent tendencies have greatly reduced.

-SARCASTIC: while it's always nice to have a little witty humour here and there with close friends, Hui Xin's sarcastic insults can sometimes slip out even with strangers thus making her seem rather rude with no respect for her elders. the culture in Singapore is pretty different from that of Korea in which there is no absolute hierarchy between teens of different ages and hence she does not have the habit of treating those older than her with utmost respect, but rather as friends.

-DOESN'T EXPRESS HERSELF WELL: despite being talkative, Hui Xin never really mentions much personal stuff, preferring to keep to herself. the things she blabbers about with friends are often light-hearted and meaningless, with the burdens weighing down greatly in her heart. sometimes, the weight on her shoulders can cause her to be in a rather foul mood and may snap easily at others.

-DENSE: if you look up dense in a dictionary, you would find Hui Xin's picture right under the description of the word. Hui Xin is horrible at reading situations and others' emotions and is prone to making inappropriate comments or jokes during serious conversations. she may come of as slightly insensitive, but really, she's justreally bad at telling the situation and may sometimes screw things up. she's also one of those people that wouldn't know a surprise party is being planned for her despite everyone asking for her schedule and what she would like as a present.

±CREATIVE AND RANDOM: Hui XIn's creativity and randomness tends to work both ways for her. for example, her creativity can be put into good use for coming up with lyrics, writing raps or choreographing new dances, but it is also a side of her that conjures up ways to sneak junk food into the dorms. for her randomness, it comes in handy when meeting new people since she'll be able to talk about anything and everything but it can also sometimess be rather inappropriate when a random thought strikes during a seriouos conversation since she has the habit of voicing them out.

BACKGROUND
Born in Singapore to a rather wealthy family, Hui XIn has always had what she wanted. Even though she was the oldest of four, she was never neglected or left to fend for herself just because she was the oldest. Hence, she lived a comfortable and rather pampered life. Her faather would always take time out of his busy schedule to spend with the family but her mother more career-minded and tended to neglect her children. In return, she would splurge on them and give them anything they wanted. Hui Xin is pretty good with her studies - she isn't the first in school, but she's above average and thus made it into a rather well-known middle school. In middle school, Hui Xin's loud and boisterous side as well as her involvement in the dance club gained her a huge circle of friends and a very high profile that carried on even in high school. If she were to be honest, Hui XIn's clique in middle school wasn't that much of a clique but rather a group of high profile students hanging out together. They went out on shopping trips or to theme parks and always had lunch together but Hui Xin felt like they were mainly superficial and decided not to keep in touch after they separated at the end of middle school. In high school however, Hui Xin found a small group of sincere and earnest friends whom she was able to have deep conversations with but at the same time have fun and crazy times with. They were the friends that made her otherwise hectic and stressful high school life bearable.

When Hui Xin was four, her parents enrolled her into a ballet class at a nearby dance school, thinking that she would ask to quit once school life starts picking up when she gets older. What they didn't expect, however, was for Hui Xin to be completely smitten with the art of ballet. This lead her to taking up other classes in jazz and contemporary. When Hui Xin was fifteen, a friend from dance introduced her to the world of street dance where she took up classes in waacking and hiphop. However, due to her background in ballet, Hui XIn's moves are not as sharp and strong as she would like them to be. Thus, this lead her to having the lead dancer position instead of main dancer despite her having more than a decade's worth of dance experience as kpop is, like its name, more of pop than contemporary.

In middle school, many of the girls in her "clique" were crazy over kpop idols like SHINee or B2ST or Infinite. Being part of the "clique", Hui Xin was essentially forced to listen to their songs and watch the various music videos and performances being churned out month after month. At first, she had been quite adverse towards kpop, mainly because all her friends could talk about were how hot their idols were and how good their bodies were. Nevertheless, she slowly started getting hooked when she saw their performancces stages, feeling their choreography was captivating and interesting. Slowly, she ventured into the world of kpop and has stayed there ever since. It was around the end of middle school that she developed the notion of becoming a kpop idol herself. She had already been performing a lot on stage and knew how empowering it felt to be dancing her heart out on stage. But she also knew that it was unlikely for her to constantly have performances after she left the schooling life. She had decided that performing was something she wanted to do for a living and the thought of becoming a kpop idol was born. With encouragement from her dance friends, she decided to audition for several companies at once, utilising the power of the internet. She had submitted clips of her audition to Cube, Jellyfish, SM and Dream Tea and was lucky enough to get a reply from Jellyfish wanting her in their trainee programme. She left for Korea a year after high school.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS
FATHER  Wong Joon Lim  47  An elementary school teacher, Joon Lim is great with kids and was thus able to build a strong relationship with Hui Xin from young. Hui Xin treats him more like a friend than a father while still keeping in mind his seniority. She looks up to him a lot and always looks forward to their father-daughter bonding time where they can literally do nothing but sit down and talk for hours about what was going on in their lives.
MOTHER  Reina Lim  47  A professional make-up artist, Reina is out of home often as her job required her to constantly travel around the globe to various fashion shows. Pretty well-known in the industry, Reina is considered a very successful woman. However, the hectic life of her job has taken a toll on her family life and thus she was never really able to bond well with Hui Xin. Apart from their occasional conversations about makeup in which Reina would teach Hui Xin about all the little tips and tricks she's picked up over the years, the two rarely talk and have a slightly awkward relationship.
YOUNGER SISTER
Wong Hui Yin  13  Hui Xin's only sister, they share that sisterly-bond that can't be replicated with her brothers. Despite the rather large , the sisters are close and keep little to no secrets between each other - Hui Yin is one of the very few people Hui Xin can rant to. Hui Xin in turn shares a lot of life advices that she's picked up over the years, fully intending to have her sister live a fulfilling life with no regrets.
YOUNGER BROTHER
Wong Yi Kai  12  Aloof and cold, Hui Xin has always found it hard to interact and bond with Yi Kai. The siblings have close to nothing in common and apart from casual conversations across the dinner table, Hui Xin finds herself barely talking to her brother at all.
YOUNGEST BROTHER
Wong Yi Xuan  10  The baby of the family, Hui Xin has always spoiled Yi Xuan because of his age. To her, she's that little baby brother she carried at age eight and will never grow out of it. Thus, despite their outwardly affectionate relationship, they do not actually share much about themselves back at home as Hui Xin thinks of him as someone who's not mature enough to know the problems of the real world. Yi Xuan in return is sick and tired of his sister treating him like a baby but doesn't know how to tell her about it.

BEST FRIEND
Tanya Lee  17  Hui XIn's first friend in dance, Tanya is the only other person apart from Hui Yin who knows about Hui Xin's deepest and darkest secrets. Having know each other since the latter was five, the two have built a strong friendship that will not be shaken.
CLOSE FRIEND
Angeline Lim  18  Both her high school friend and dance friend, Angeline had really only started getting close to Hui Xin after they had ended up in the same class in high school. The two are pretty close, sharing heart-to-heart talks once in a while However, Hui Xin doesn't feel very comfortable sharing her innermost thoughts with Angeline just yet.
FRIEND
Kang Mina  17  Both Mina and Hui Xin had joined Jellyfish around the same time and were hence put in the same trainee group. With Mina being one of the youngest there, Hui Xin had a soft sport for her and saw her as another one of the younger siblings Through all the butchered Korean sentences from Hui XIn and chuckles from Mina, the two had built quite a strong friendship. That is until Mina had gotten busy with Produce 101 schedules.
FRIEND
Kim Sejeong  20  With her mother-like nature, Sejeong happily took the wide-eyed and slightly scared Hui Xin in when she had first entered Jellyfish and took care of her like an older sister. To Hui Xin, Sejeong is her mother figure in Korea and always goes to her when she's pressured from the stresses of trainee life. Sejeong still makes it a point to meet up with her even after getting into I.O.I

TRAINEE INFO
ℓ POSITION - Lead Dancer, Main Rapper, Maknae
ℓ TALENT TWINS - Dance - f(x)'s Victoria
                           Rap - Mamamoo's Moonbyul

ℓ TRAINING TIME - 1 year at Jellyfish
ℓ TRAINEE LIFE - At the start, Hui XIn had a particularly hard time integrating herself with all the trainees as she was neither well-trained in street dance nor fluent in Korean. She had actually been accepted through dance so she was trained heavily in dance but when the company realised how her moves were often too sloppy because of her background in ballet, they decided to find another talent for her. They had initially tried to train her to be a vocal but with Hui XIn's rather limited vocal range coupled with her inability to hit neither high nor low notes, they scratched that idea out. Hui Xin thought that she would have been dropped by the company but overheard the marketing staff telling the CEO not to drop her because her status as a Singaporean would help bring some attention to her band should she debut. After hearing that, she was motivated to work doubly hard to show her worth. After hearing her speak so quickly and excitedly without stumbling over her words in English, the teachers there decided to start training her in rap. Hui Xin was never someone who particularly liked rap but she knew that rap could be something she was good at. Thus, she spent nights and days learning Korean raps and when the time came to finialise their positions in the band, she had earned herself the title of main rapper. Even so, Hui XIn still needs quite a bit of help perfecting raps and only writes raps in English - Korean raps are written by the lyricist.

ℓ PREDEBUT - she was the girl N was with in VIXX's Love Equation MV
LOVE INTEREST
ℓ NAME - Heteroual

ℓ PERSONALITY - Hui Xin wants someone who's taller than her, prefably 180cm or taller. She also wants someone that can dance, because she enjoys watching dance as much as she enjoys dancing. She also wants someone who is loyal and is decisive without being pushy or bossy.

ℓ RELATIONSHIP - They start off more as close friends than lovers and their relationship can slowly bloom into a romantic one.

ℓ CONCLUSION - 5 years older or three years younger would be the maximum.
THE END
COMMENTS - Whee!! A Jellyfish applyfic! Thanks so much for doing this!! I'm really excited for it hahahah >< Sorry if the app was too long, I kindda got carried away because I love creating new characters for each app that I do and sometimes their personality or backgrounds become too draggy >< I hope it's fine that my character's from Singapore! I thought it would be an interesting twist from all the Japanese or Chinese idols nowadays. If you 're not comfortable with her name or nationality do tell me and I'll change it!

SUGGESTIONS - It'll be cool if they also had something like VIXX TV for the members to connect with their fans. Also, they could slowly be introduced or publicised through VIXX TV with their interactions with the boys, or I.O.I's Sejeong or Mina talking about them!

SCENE REQUESTS - LOCK Weekly Idol! Those random play dances or sped up/slowed down dances would be really cool :3 Or even a short scene where the MCs have to guess which member out of five is the Singaporean (or if there're other nationalities, guess which member is from which country)
LOCK After School Club! Since Hui Xin is not that fluent in Korean, she may be a little closed off and quiet during Korean interviews but her talkative and friendly side can be shown in ASC when she can speak comfortably in English

PASSWORD - Thank you again!!! Good luck with the story! (:
