So a couple days ago, Jonghyun changed his twitter profile picture to this photo of a letter about how gays should be treated as equal and that we're humans too etc. Jonghyun also direct messaged the author of the letter saying that he supports them and that he supports LGBT and all that.

Honestly I was surprized on how mad people have gotten over it! Like, it made no sense to me at all! I know there are people out there that write fan fic, read fan fic [even fan fic] with other male idols [Jongkey, Minkey, etc] and they ship them and will go down with that ship but the minute the actual member even supports equality people turn their backs on them! Like...wtf...what about all of those fics you wrote? Or that you read? Or that ship you said you'd never abandon? I think those people need a reality check and a hypocrite remover injected into them.

I've also seen this sort of stuff happen with EXO's Kris and Tao a while ago. There was a facebook page I liked that took a picture of a chinese magazine article that had TaoRis in there. Turns out the magazine was a gay magazine and the article was talking about how they could secretly be dating or something blah blah blah and in the comment section there were so many people writing all of these horrible things about how they would turn their backs on EXO [mainly M] if this was all true and that they would want Taoris to go to hell and all that. Like REALLY? I thought EXO was your favorite group?!

From what I heard, Jonghyun has gotten hate messages saying that he's going to hell, saying that they're going to leave the SHINee fandom, that they're going to hate them for the rest of their lives, etc. I found out from one of my friends that a girl even broke her SHINee CDs just because of this! I think she even broke her SHINee world concert DVD. Like really? You're gonna do that JUST because he stands up for equal rights? This stuff just really irritates me to the max.

For reals though, if Taeny announced that they were an official couple then I would jump for joy! I'd be parading around the city all happily! I would have their backs because I ship them! Because I support them! I write fics about them, I read fics about them, and they're a ship I will go down with no matter what! That goes for any of the other ships I proudly sail with! If ANY of them ever came out or even just publically supported the LGBT community in general then I would be completely happy!

I just can't understand why the minute all of this becomes a reality, everyone turns their back on the idols. Why? You ship them, you write fics and you read fics. It makes no sense to me. What difference would it make? People that ship them to the ends of the Earth should be happier because now everything they imagined has a bigger possibility of coming true! Those fics you read could be true! Those little love fics based on that fan cam or something is probably what REALLY happened! So why are these haters trying to say it isn't true when they're the ones that essentially thought it up in the first place? I just don't get it guys.

Still, I wanna thank Jonghyun for standing up for the LGBT community. It's great to know that an idol from a big company announced that they stand up for equal rights. Did anyone else notice that Jongkey are the only members in SHINee [so far] that have openly announced that they support gay marriage?
