likes //
- alcoholic bevarages: though kyo ri is still technically too young to drink anything containing alcohol, thanks to countless mundane business parties and uncaring parents, as well as credit cards aplenty, it's not really hard for kyo ri to get her hands on alcohol. she's no alcoholic, but likes the taste and drinks it to clear her mind.
- caffeine: tea, coffee, anything that has some kind of caffeine in it more or less becomes kyo ri's best friend, thanks to countless hours awake doing work.
- sweets: though she doesn't like to admit or show it in public, kyo ri loves sweets.
- long car rides: the scenery's nice and the serenity is something kyo ri finds unattainable anywhere else.
- minimalistic: kyo ri does have an attraction towards more modern minimalistic things, since she really likes how they focus on the shapes.
- coconut + vanilla: though she doesn't necessarily like the combination of the two scents, kyo ri loves the scent of the slightly-tropical and nutty coconut as well as classic and sweet vanilla.
dislikes //
- spicy foods: even foods like kimchi can't pass kyo ri's mouth without her feeling like she's dying.
- wind: don't ask her why, kyo ri really can't tell you much of a reason why she likes the feeling of a breeze against her face. it makes her feel free.
- winnie the pooh: despite her unchildish persona, kyo ri loves watching the children's program, in part because she loves how sweet and innocent the characters are all ( a nice contrast from reality ), but also because it makes her feel a bit rebellious ( lame, she knows ).
- repeated, annoying noises: things like knocking and even ringtones irk kyo ri to no end.
- flaws: refer to 'personality' section
- grease: it's disgusting; just thinking about makes kyo ri lose her appetite.
habits //
- ears turn red when embaressed
- inhales the scent of clothes
- blinks profusely whenever confused or tired
- her lips

hobbies //
- photography: the only hobby that wasn't influenced by her parents, kyo ri has always had a desire to pick up a camera, but has only just recently succumbed to the desire. she loves photography, and loves taking pictures of anything and everything.
- piano: taught since she was a little girl, kyo ri is pretty decent at the instrument, though her relationship with the piano is a love-hate sort of relationship. she doesn't play it often, only when her parents / guests request of her.
- lacrosse: also known as a sport for super rich kids, lacrosse is perfect for the cho family. a midfielder / a-wing, kyo ri enjoys the sport, and has played it for a long time.
- dance: able to dance classical / contemporary / ballet / ballroom, kyo ri isn't much of a hip hop dancer or anything ( though she secretly would like to learn ), and dancing comes in handy especially at those dinner parties.

fears //
- achluophobia [ the fear of darkness ]: maybe it's thanks to those dark hours spent alone in her house, without much of a comfort and in a huge house that was technically hers but foreign as her parents were. whatever it is, kyo ri hates the darkness.
- cypridophobia [ the fear of ion ]: a very odd fear, after having to witness her father's cheating schemes, which led to the obvious sending her away, but also a scarring image and death threats from her father in order to protect their secret. though she's not exactly fearful of es, she tries her best to avoid them, since it's nothing but memories she wishes to forget. it's a pretty odd fear, kyo ri will admit, but there's not much she can or wants to do to fix it. ( refer to background section for more background information )

- athazagoraphobia [ the fear of being forgotten ]: refer to personality section. kyo ri has never lived in a happy medium environment ( refer to 'background' section ), and though she longs to live that happy medium, she's terrified of the outcome of her wish actually coming true. she's never lived in a place where she was forgotten; at home, maids pointedly ignored her, while classmates did everything in their power to know everything about her. the only people who kyo ri knows has forgotten about her, and are too blinded by their goals and aspirations, are her parents. and the thought terrifies her.

trivia //
- she's left-handed
- kyo ri wears contacts
- she actually says a lot of curse words; rather, she says a lot more than one would expect
- has no idea how to swim, and has no intentions of learning
- is partially color-blind to the colors red and green. though it's not severe, it's rare for a female. if you were to give kyo ri a semi-light shade of red and green, chances are, she wouldn't be able to tell you which one was red or green.
- is the top in her class, but who really cares about academics with cho kyo ri
languages //
- korean ( fluent ) - it's her mothertongue. when she was smaller, she had a pretty heavy busan accent, but thanks to countless tutoring lessons, kyo ri's korean is completely free of accents, though her busan accent comes out whenever she's drunk.
- mandarin ( conversational ) - her father's business being especially popular in china as well as korea, it wasn't rare for the cho family to host several chinese families over for a dinner party. in that came lessons to learn the language, and thanks to some experience talking with guests and years of tutoring, kyo ri is decent at chinese.

personality //
[ ] ❝ the treacherous journey to hell begins here ❞ — With her strikingly good looks and seemingly cold attitude, it would be almost immediately assumed that Cho Kyo Ri is the stereotypical 'queen bee' of the school, with admirers following her every move and worshipping the very ground she walks on, girls almost literally throwing themselves and their services at her, in their skimpy little Abercrombie dresses, in the hopes that she would take them under her wing and make them popular and pretty too. But, when one looks a bit closer, they'll notice her dark, intense eyes. They'll notice her cold and calculating ways. They'll notice that Kyo Ri is, in other words, an 'ice princess'. Behind the materialistic and aesthetics of her life, lies nothing but ruins, destroyed beyond repair, something her parents have no intentions of showing anyone. After 18 years of being reigned in and being sent to dozens of etiquette schools in an attempt to make their daughter seem as 'perfect' and 'ladylike' as deemed humanely possible, resulting in a girl who seemed to lack all emotions, and instead, relied on the wall she had built for the past eighteen long, laborious years of her life, with spot-on etiquette, elbows never on the table, shoulder never slumped, back always straight, playing innocent (or dumb, as she liked to think of it) and not talking unless it was a useless question such as something regarding the weather. Frankly, it would be an understatement to say that Kyo Ri was merely 'guarded' or 'cold'. The little 'guard' of hers had become a necessity to Kyo Ri's life; it was her security blanket, a way to hide her fear and her emotions from the rest of the world as they stood there, watching her, judging her, criticizing her. Wanting to be her, but not being able to, giving them no other option but to attempt to criticize her to try and boost their own self-confidence up. Kyo Ri's not stupid; she knows ( or rather, strongly believes ) that everyone who tries to strike up a conversation with her either just wants to get in her pants, or they plan on using her as a stepping stone in their proclaimed road to popularity and glamour, a life in which they really had no idea of, but dreamt of nevertheless. And if there's anyone who has the guts to actually come up and try to converse with her, Kyo Ri won't flat-out ignore them like man other stuck-up no good brats would, but she would answer their never-ending questions with one-worded answers that make it nearly impossible for them to make much conversation with her, and discouraging nearly everyone from even trying to converse with her. It's not a hard technique, really. Call her stubborn, for not giving people a chance to prove her wrong, but honestly, none of it is going to sway her to think otherwise. And though, physically speaking, there were people everywhere who knew of Kyo Ri and talked of her, there was really no one who talked to her, or really recognized her as a functioning human being rather than an unattainable Goddess from above or whatever the hell it was that they believed. Whatever it was, no one ever really directly talked to Kyo Ri, and if they did, it wasn't for the meaning of pure conversation. It was always a confession, or a desperate plea to make that girl become popular and how to make their beloved Junsoo oppa fall in love with them, if she had really gotten plastic surgery before (God knows how many times Kyo Ri was asked that), the list goes on. Her situation at home wasn't much better. Though there were people around Kyo Ri, though she was popular and pretty, she had no friends, no one to rely on, no one to really talk to (unless that middle-aged barista at Starbucks counted as anything, and even then, ordering a White Chocolate mocha, no whip please, Grande Size didn't really count as much conversation). It wasn't that Kyo Ri was desperate for a friend; if she really was, she literally could've just grabbed the first person in the high school hallways and start talking to them, and they'd be more than happy to 'befriend' the Cho Kyo Ri. It was just overwhelmingly lonely, as well as burdensome, to have no one to trust, no one to confide in, no one to talk to.

[ ] ❝ the curse; not so magical, but much more permanent ❞ — Though Kyo Ri does miss the necessary interaction between mankind, she has no regrets on her decision to not associate herself with her shallow peers; after spending her entire life in such an atmosphere, it really ought not be a surprise to discover that Kyo Ri has completely lost faith in humanity, and because of that, her so called 'wall of defense' has no longer become a guard, but rather, who she actually is. This wall, one that originally protected Kyo Ri from the potential harms of those around her, eventually became the curse that prevented her from ever growing out of isolation; it's likely because of this 'security blanket' that's shielded Kyo Ri not only from the abuse, but also the joy and relationships life had to offer. Even those who meant the girl no harm had no intentions of going up to such a cold girl, and for good reason. Who would want to go up to such a girl, no matter how beautiful or materialistically blessed? Those who don't want Kyo Ri often pity her, for not being able to really experience the gifts life had to offer before she had to face the pains. Either way, at the end of the day, Kyo Ri is left by herself, without much of a friend to lean on, or anyone, really. It's because of this Kyo Ri is so independent; she feels as if she can do everything herself without much of a problem. It's also because of her isolation that Kyo Ri doesn't understand jokes or handling things too well. It's rare to see a smile blossom on her face ( much less a smile that's genuine ), and it's ridiculously easy to annoy her, arguably because she's usually just left alone. Those few times when Kyo Ri's actually riled up, her attitude takes on a personality of its own, and her usually closed mouth is opened, only to shoot back with a sharp retort, something that often catches others off guard. Being the often lonely and socially-awkward person she is, it takes a while for Kyo Ri to really even say more than five words to a person, and it takes a lot of time, as well as often some tactic to make her erupt to get the girl to actually open up. Despite being as straightfoward as she is, Kyo Ri finds it impossible to open up to others, and abhors discussing what she's feeling or thinking, since those are thoughts that Kyo Ri has no intentions of telling anyone - a kind of mindset Kyo Ri has lived by her entire life ( whether willingly or not at first is really unknown ).

] ❝ sleepless nights are every night ❞ — Despite her cold and laconic attitude, Kyo Ri is actually quite the softie inside. It's ridiculously easy to make the said girl feel guilty; do her a favor and she'll feel as if she's forever indebt. Whenever she can, Kyo Ri always makes sure to help those who are in need materialistically ( if they need money, it's not all that uncommon for her to give them a good amount of money ), and she actually enjoys assisting other people. Though it's difficult just for her to really acknowledge another, even after she befriends someone, there always still seems to be some sort of wall the guards her, no matter what. It's extremely rare for Kyo Ri to be completely open about things, especially not matters at home. Never the one to believe in fairytales or happy endings, kyo ri is more or less the abstruse narcassistic realist, difficult to understand or talk to, and stubborn in her beliefs of reality and perfection. just to add to the list of things the said antipathic girl hates, kyo ri despises anything and everything with even the smallest of flaws; she can't help but notice even the smallest of mistakes. with such an observant and perfection-driven persona, kyo ri is just as hard, if not harder on herself, wanting to prove all those rumors of her just being a spoiled little rich girl with no abilities, wrong. kyo ri's the kind of person who's willing to stay up until whatever she's doing is flawless. it's strange, really, how little kyo ri seems to care about other people's thoughts on her, and how little she likes to believe she cares, when really, she's terrified of even the thought of being bullied or forgotten. however, kyo ri will never admit this, nor will she ever really realize this, thanks to her adamant nature, refusing to believe anything anyone else may tell her ( at least, she likes to act this way ), merely turning her head stoically at any piece of advice or criticism, and working well past a healthy time. Arguably the thing Kyo Ri is most passionate about is her independence. maybe that's why the said girl takes a secret liking to all those who live their lives in a manner that kyo ri can't help but envy, those who can laugh freely and live without so much a care in the world. In her tangled mind, Kyo Ri has no intentions of falling in love, since that would rid her of any independence she may have now ( which honestly isn't much, she'll admit ). Not only that, but thanks to living in the ruins she calls her family, Kyo Ri's thoughts on love are anything but positive. Rather than falling in love and ending up depending on that boy like a crutch, she wishes to be free, to be without the burdensome role of the rich daughter, automatically perceived to be no brains and all looks. Most nights, Kyo Ri longs for the carefree nature of so many of her peers, and often wonders why she's so cold, why she cares so much about attaining the unreachable, and why she can't open up like others can, and every night, concludes that such is reality, and way she is, thanks to the way she was raised, and there was really nothing she could do about it but live with it.

back-up ulzzang // ji ji from vintage vender ( gallery )
apperance // hair dyed a chocolatey brown color, falling in very gentle waves ( kyo ri's not sure if she should consider her hair wavy or straight ) down to her shoulders. naturally very willowy, with a very thin frame that ( for whatever reason ) seems almost stretched out, kyo ri is considered extremely tall for her age, without fail. pale red lips and flawless skin, free of uv rays, as well as fairly large eyes, framed with thick lashes are all on a heart-shaped face. her face naturally very stoical and without emotion, with eyes dark and unreadable, kyo ri has an air of unattainable elegance as well as mystery around her.
style // though she makes no attempts of flaunting her wealth nor does she really notice, almost all of kyo ri's clothes are name brands -- and not wannabe namebrands for teenagers like abercrombie, but the kind of name brands that everyone knows of but no one but those made of money even dare look at. however, despite her clothes being undeniably high-quality and high-costing, kyo ri dresses quite simply, though it rarely strays from feminine. solid colors, or floral / lace at most, kyo ri doesn't like to wear clothes that are unnaturally bright or glittery, instead opting for the ever classic and mature neutral or psatel colors.

background //
] ❝ the crumbling materialistics ❞ — just looking at the area the cho family's mansion is situated in makes it blatantly obvious that the cho family is rich; so filthy rich a blind man could see the number of zeros on their bank accounts stretching across the page. however, unlike most rich-girl fairytales, kyo ri's family wealth wasn't inherited nor was the business inherited, however, her parents had every intention to keep the successful banking corporation a source of wealth for generations to come. thus, came their mission of birthing a child who would be far superior to her peers, not only in intelligence, but also work ethic and intelligence and just overall talent. to say her father and mother were a bit disappointed with kyo ri would be an understatement; they didn't realize the responsibilities of a child, and didn't seem to recognize the line between a robot and a human. but, just like daughter, it seemed to be a family thing; at the end of the day, there was really no one at fault, but rather, just a line of very hardworking and perfection-striving generations, thanks to an almost-hereditary line of high-expectations from the parents. thus, when kyo ri was just a little girl, rather than letting her explore the gorgeous white sands and blue waters of the busan beaches that lay right outside their secluded home, she stayed at home or in a very dull room, tutored and pushed by some of the best instructors korea had to offer. to call kyo ri's young life a "childhood" would be anything but fitting; it's because of her lack of child's play that kyo ri is so awkward around children, and why, even at a young age, was cold, obedient, but trapped. utterly and hopelessly trapped in the world of strict and demanding teachers; cold ( and most likely scheming ) dinner parties, filled with praising ( and obviously jealous ) adults; and blissfully ignorant onlookers, too caught up in the materials to look any further. by the time kyo ri entered kindergarten ( at the top private school in busan, obviously ), the difference even between a typical high-class peer of hers to the said girl was somewhat astounding, and her classmates were immediately petrified of the little girl's cold eyes, and as they continued schooling, her undeniable beauty and talent, as well as her constant praise from adults. looking back at her childhood, kyo ri could quite literally count on one hand the number of friends she had: three. two, if you don't count the backstabbing fifth grader as a friend. on the other hand, kyo ri's situation at home was never really paradise either ( though it never was to begin with ). her parents never home, and instead being stuck in a mansion with paid caretakers, both as calculating at the young mistress herself. however, kyo ri would rather have an empty home and empty-souled staff than have to face her parents. it was never a secret that their marriage wasn't very stable, much less their family ( though what the public didn't know wouldn't hurt them ).

] ❝ the epiphany ❞ — when kyo ri finally finished middle school, she had more or less unofficially become the princess of the school; "luring" boys in with her flawless looks, gaining admirers from both the male and female populus, but overall, living a very lonely and isolated life. there was no happy medium in kyo ri's life where she could live normally; it was either to stay in an environment where everyone admired you, or live in a place that could care less. either way, kyo ri grew to rarely open , and learned how to shut those nasty haters as well as equally-as vicious admirers out and away from her. this life continued until the day kyo ri walked in from school only to witness her father's cheating schemes. it must have been fate, especially since her father came home about once a blue moon, and to say both parties ( or rather, all three? ) were surprised would be somewhat of an understatement. forcing her to swear never to tell a soul, the said man was able to ship her off immediately to seoul in the most prestigious boarding academy in korea, and from then on out, kyo ri was given the burden to keep the secret of the scandal away from everyone. it wasn't a hard thing, necessarily, so kyo ri didn't have much difficulty with that. however, while at the school, though she was treated among her peers pretty much the same she was in busan, kyo ri finally noticed just how different her attitude was from others. sure, kyo ri had always known just how different her life was from her peers, but it was then, when she didn't have a formal guardian looking over her shoulder that kyo ri was able to notice a lot of things she didn't necessarily notice before. however, despite this epiphany, kyo ri's attitude didn't exactly change. still as cold and isolated as ever, kyo ri merely gained a new insight, which soon blossomed to an innate desire to live normally for once, with friends and support, but she knew the dark reality of it all. kyo ri's "friends" had all been backstabbing attention-seeking s with the intentions of only befriending her for the sake of gaining popularity.

love interest  // lee jinki ( onew ) + shinee
age // 20
personality // that happy medium, the kind of person who doesn't particularly stand out, though he seems to shine all at the same time. it's strange really, just how charming such a dork like jinki is, with his cute yet handsome looks and his protective and genuine attitude, though at the same time fun and carefree personality. he's almost like a perfect mixture of good qualities, bits and pieces of several extremes pieced together. maybe that's what makes the said boy so charming, especially considering his ability to play up to those puzzle pieces, letting each one shine at a certain moment. caring and honestly one of the nicest people ever to roam the earth, jinki has a heart made of gold; he helps those in need, jinki is the shoulder to cry on, the ear to lend, the one to take home to meet the parents. there's something about him that makes jinki seem extremely trustworthy, that makes people like him almost immediately. maybe it's his uplifting smile, maybe it's just his gentle eyes and just good personality. whatever it is, jinki is the sort of person who is impossible to hate. he's not arrogant or self-centered; in fact, he often needs someone to remind him to eat. jinki also strives to be as honest as possible, and surprisingly, gives very good advice ( though he doesn't like to give too much ). to be completely honest, though jinki can listen and give advice very well, if there's one thing jinki can't do is sympathize. he can't soothe crying girls, though he's willing to listen and help them out best he can. thank goodness jinki is too nice and people know how genuine and how good his intentions are, so rarely is anyone ever offended by jinki's bluntness.

crying girls aside, jinki is a very quirky and playful sort of person, who enjoys relaxing and just enjoying his life. he loves to make punny or just somewhat-silly jokes, and other times, he's ridiculously greasy, among friends and lovers alike. it doesn't help that jinki is extremely clumsy, as well as forgetful, though it just makes him seem even cuter than he already does. and jinki, being as good-natured a person as he is, merely laughs it off and jokes about his clumsiness. though he himself is more of a gentle soul, jinki is pretty open to all things, and is willing to try new things, and makes sure where ever it is he goes, it'll be a time that no one can ever forget. he genuinely tries his best to live his life to the fullest, and doesn't like to regret anything. this also means that he's in general a very hardworking person, who dedicates himself to his dreams and goals.

in a nutshell: calm, gentle, honest, funny, easygoing, patient, playful, hardworking, genuine

how you are going to meet //
"are you okay?" a gentle voice interrupted her jumbled train of thoughts, snapping the girl back into the (now) closing café, coffee mug still grasped tightly in her fingers, now cooled significantly.
it was a young man, copper brown hair that had a tint of red, styled up, with a cup of macchiato in his right hand, looking at her with slightly furrowed eyebrows.
"yes, i'm fine." she murmured, ready to gather her stuff to leave.
giving her one of his infamous eyesmiles, the male made his way to her table, and, without asking for her permission, sat himself down on the opposite side of the table.
"you don't look fine."
pursing her lips in frustration, kyo ri willed in her mind for the stranger to leave, wanting him desperately to just mind his own business.
his head only cocked in slight confusion, waiting for an answer.
soon, kyo ri burst, her usually silent mask replaced by an annoyed, "can you mind your own business?"
"then i guess you're my business now. hi, i'm lee jinki."
when the ice princess groaned at his determined attitude, he merely laughed, melodious and soothing even to her.
knowing there was no way to weasel out of it now, kyo ri slowly brought her hand out to shake his, large calloused hand grasping onto her cold and small ones.
"cho kyo ri. now please go away."
i'll probably never see him again anyways.

how you are going to act around each other //  wanting only to help a troubled person out, jinki had just-so happened to bump into kyo ri almost every single day after their meeting in the café ( don't ask how he was able to figure out her schedule, jinki has his ways ). after a few meetings, jinki noticed how bitter and guarded the girl was, and her little sighs whenever a group of carefree peers passed by them did not go unnoticed by the ever-observant jinki. determined to help her break down those emotional walls that had only trapped and limited kyo ri, for reasons even kind-hearted jinki wasn't sure of ( because, no matter how nice jinki was, it was crazy for any person to want to do what he was, especially to a cold-hearted stranger like kyo ri ). but as time went on, and he was able to coax her into joining him on different adventures, adventures kyo ri had no idea why she agreed to, especially since her annoyance for jinki was something she was quite positive was permanent. however, she knew how much she actually enjoyed going on stupid rampages with him, running around recklessly on the beach without a care in the world. it was everything she had ever hoped for; she slowly found herself smiling more and more, as she began to realize just how good a person jinki was, and how happy she really was.
kyo ri is a lot softer around jinki, just because he's so nice, and she can tell he's a really genuine person. he's like her guardian angel, and no matter how much she tried to push him away at first, he just kept coming back. he just seemed to always be there whenever she needed a shoulder to cry on, a ride home, a person to confide in.
what started out as a journey to help kyo ri blossom turned into a bond neither of them had anticipated ( though the original goal was achieved ). honestly one of the most mature and serious relationships out of the girls, kyo ri and jinki surprisingly had a pretty relaxing relationship. jinki was the light who was able to help kyo ri manuver her way out of her black hole of a past, and allowed her to open her eyes and blossom into a much more playful and open girl, with an amusingly large amount of sarcasm that she had once hid. on the other hand, kyo ri was the unspeakable strength jinki had never known he could have; they were both willing to listen to one another, and connect on levels past just physical attraction or dates. whether or not they were lovers or just soulmates without romantic intentions is something not even the two of them know, but they were both thankful for the other.

whether or not kyo ri and jinki actually get together isn't what's important. at the end of the day, the moral of their relationship is just to find what makes you happy c: meeting jinki was the start to kyo ri's happiness, and kyo ri was the epitome of his happiness, and a way for jinki to open up.
i mean they can definitely both have romantic feelings for the other, but i don't really think that's the point of their relationship, nor will it ever be.

back-up love interest // kim jongdae ( chen ) + exo
age // 19

personality // carefree and reckless, just like any other male his age, jongdae is the true prankster, the kind of person who can't help but get himself in trouble. he loves to have fun, and is naturally a very funny person. rarely does his smile ever leave his face, and jongdae loves making other people smile. jongdae is often known as the troll; always the one who messes with people, always the one to make even the most serious of issues seem humorous. that's what makes kim jongdae so charming; it's impossible not to laugh around such a cheerful and genuine yet carefree sort of person. there's something about jongdae that often reminds people of their childhood.
jongdae is also extremely warmhearted, and is adamant about what he believes in and whatever it is he does. jongdae is actually extremely straightfoward, but people often don't find what he says offensive since they know how genuine a person jongdae is. he likes to make people smile and make them feel better and forget about their worries and their problems. there's never really a dull moment with such an adventurous guy, always up for a challenge.

in a nutshell: fun, talkative, adamant, honest, playful, caring, genuine

how you are going to meet // she had no idea where she was, who she was with, or why she was here, forgotten book clutched in her left hand, her eyes cold and dark as ever, though her mind was swirling with confusion.
just minutes ago, a certain somebody had run down the busy street, and, turning his head, had seen kyo ri, slowly making her way whilst looking at what the street vendors' had to offer.
and being the reckless idiot he was ( and quite proud of, thank you very much ), jongdae had almost immediately noticed the saturnine attitude that almost enveloped the normally-gorgeous girl. wanting to have a little fun ( especially since he was already technically in trouble ), the young man grabbed the unsuspecting girl, urging her to join him on his adventure.
reflecting back at her actions, kyo ri merely shook her head. why in the world she ended up agreeing to go and run off with a complete stranger, in the middle of a busy street, running for reasons only God knew, she would never know.
regardless, kyo ri was here, and there wasn't really much she could do.
"well, i suppose they're gone now," jongdae commented, carelessly making his way back on his feet, only to see the group of angry teenagers rounding the corner, the fury literally burning in their eyes.
laughing, chen gently took her hand, a great contrast to his hard yank that followed, and dragged her past their original hiding spot, past countless stores and streets, into a new one, hidden in the maze of stores. both of them panting from the sudden run, jongdae opened his mouth, only to be interrupted by the shouts of his newest ( very pissed off ) enemy. quickly bringing kyo ri over to where his side of the wall was, jongdae grabbed her by the hips, ( noticing her flinch at the sudden contact ) and pulled her towards him, the distance between them closing by the second.
when the teenagers had passed the alley, they poked their head in, only to see what seemed like a couple who wanted anything but to disturbed.

when jongdae finally released kyo ri, her ears were bright red, though her face remained apathetic, her eyes still dark.
"what the hell was that."
"she talks! i'm kim jongdae, nice to meet you."
"what the hell was that."
"heh, maybe i can tell you over some bubble tea?"
"i don't drink bubble tea," came the short reply.
"well, you do now. come on!"

how you are going to act around each other //  the beginning of their relationship is the same as how jinki and kyo ri's relationship starts. however, jongdae is determined to try and make kyo ri laugh openly around him, and to make her less uptight and a bit more welcoming / social. jongdae only wanted to become kyo ri's first true friend; he knew he would've made the worst guardian angel, but he was adamant that he would get kyo ri to trust him and open up to become the girl she really was ( as to what that was, not even kyo ri or jongdae knew until it actually happened ). they had crazy missions and contests, and, at first, jongdae got kyo ri to talk through taunts and teasing and making the girl annoyed. but as time grew on, kyo ri began to catch on, and began to play some pranks and jokes of her own, and began to make friends; through jongdae at first, but later, was able to make decent conversation with others. chen wasn't a happy medium; he was a pretty big jokester. by putting the stoical ice princess with the jokester, the two extremes were able to balance each other out. kyo ri became more daring and playful, able to find her own voice and such, while jongdae was able to invest more time in his studies and understand when to stop messing around. they had a bond like no other; bickering but always looking out for the other. kyo ri was able to help jongdae mature into the man he never thought he could've been, while kyo ri was able to loosen up and laugh freely and often. it was a slow journey, just as slow as jinki's relationship buildup with kyo ri, and whether or not they were actual lovers or just soulmates without the romantic intentions doesn't matter.

a / n : i like how they both pull kyo ri into that happy medium she's always been wanting. but if you want me to change it so that these are more 'love' interests than they were put here as sort of mentors / guardians, i'll gladly do that.

comments // wow what am i doing here i should be studying for finals - said no one
raughs ok so this is really bad wow i'm so sorry you had to read that :c
lol look at this i got progressively lazier as this app progressed whoops ._.
also, i really hope you don't mind her 'love interests' not really being love interests otl
it's just i feel as if it wouldn't have been possible for a person with such a personality as an 'ice princess' to know what love is, if she barely understands the concept of happiness and loving anyone. that's why jinki and jongdae weren't necessarily lovers, because how would a girl who didn't understand how to love, or have any intentions of loving, be able to love? however, they were both the start to her happiness, and in both love stories, though they don't necessarily fall in love, they do have a connection and allowed it so that kyo ri could be happy and actually love. i don't know; this may be too dark and too unromantic, but i really like this tbh o n o;; but if you want me to change it, i'll be more than happy to c:

also, on the 'inspiration' comment you guys had. i hope you guys realize that i used one an example of a story where the moral is just the prerequisite to falling in love is to find what makes you happy. that's basically the only real similarity my app has with the story link i gave haha c: i wasn't inspired by the story ( because i'm pretty sure the relationships presented in both pieces of writing are recurring themes that aren't original nor overly cliché ), i was just presenting one of the best examples of this 'slice of life' sort of relationship that i wrote about in the app, in the hopes that both authors would be able to understand exactly how the basics of kyo ri x jinki / jongdae's relationship work. that's all c:
i decided to make such a serious app, one that does not revolve around the super fluffy relationships and love interests, as something that breaks away that shallow misconception of what love is, and allows app writers, readers, and authos alike, to realize the depth of affection and the vague outline of what happiness is. i've realized that so many stories and applications alike on asianfanfics are centered around one source of happiness, and it's necessary to understand the pursuit to happiness isn't limited to kisses or flirting. rather, kyo ri herself is meant to portray happiness as something extremely simple, naÏve almost, yet nearly impossible to achieve, and even more difficult to find the epitome of.

truth - not too long after jinki and kyo ri meet, and several attempts on jinki's side of trying to be nice and gain the said girls' trust, or at the very least, gain a smile from that blank face of hers, kyo ri gets pretty annoyed by his pestering. eyebrows furrowed though expression still blank as ever, kyo ri asked him ( suddenly ), "why are you doing this? i thought i already told you, i'm not going to help you become famous or popular. and i'm not some e." jinki merely smiled, "i don't want any of that." "then do you pity me?" she asked sharply. "wouldn't you?" he answered truthfully, handing her the cup of coffee he had offered to buy her ( and bought despite her rejection ).
- jongdae / jinki bring / drag kyo ri over to a playground, and force her to interact with kids, resulting in some of the most awkward conversations kyo ri has ever been through and her amusing attempts at playing tag.
- kyo ri taking a picture / candid of jinki / jongdae, and them asking her the reasons for doing that, and her merely shrugging playfully and snapping another picture before running off.
