Umma ; The girls call her umma once in a while for her mature way of thinking and acting for her age. It was just a random

❝ description —

Ahyeon has a pair of dark-brown eyes that looks like it lights up under the sun. Unlike her sister who has straight hair, hers are wavy and more curly. It's raven originally, but she tried going rebellious once during her high school days and dyed it light brown and she was quite fond of the outcome that she kept it until now (although that means she has to go to the hair salon at least once or twice every year). She never had any tattoos nor piercings (it's not like their parents will let her anyway), except for her normal ear piercing that's starting to close since she barely wears any earrings. (Other than that, facial wise, Eun Gyeong is pretty much how I envision Ahyeon to be). Standing at 166.5 centimeters above the ground, she might not be the tallest person ever but she has her long legs to make up for it. Ahreum used to make her an impromptu living mannequin back before she flew off to Canes for her practice of making dresses.

Even though her sister is a fashion designer, Ahyeon is never one to follow the latest trends. But it doesn't mean she's a slob because believe me, you just kind of grow an remarkable fashion sense when you're living with Ahreum. Her clothes are mostly loose attires with simple cut, 95% pastel in color. She barely has skin-fitting clothes, even though there are a bunch in her closet thanks to Ahreum (and also other styles of dresses her sister always tried to make for her but apologetically rejected because it showed too much skin for her). Her favorite? A white shirt full of artistic colorful hand prints, extra large in size; Ahreum's attempt on making a simple birthday gift for her little sister in between her heavily-packed schedule before she flew off to Canes. It has become her precious possesion ever since.

HARD-WORKING, DUTIOUS, SINCERE, BENEVOLENT

❝ personality —

WHEN YOU SMILE, SUN SHINES ⋯  The one thing that you wouldn't miss the first time you see Park Ahyeon is definitely the endearing smile she always has plastered on her lips. She's a genuine sweetheart; she works her hardest not to give up on herself nor to the people around her. She believes in second chances. And third. And fourth (just keep going). She's the kind of girl who locks herself in her room during exam week, struggling with her notebooks and limited memory only because getting good grades will make her parents smile. She's the kind of girl who stays up to talk to Ahreum over the phone whenever she feels lonely in a faraway country no matter how ungodly the time is only to crack lame jokes to make her smile again. She's the kind of girl who gives 100% of herself in anything she loves just to see the smile of others (it has become more of a habit than a personality, truthfully). She lives by giving; while getting something in return will make her smile brighter, she's okay with not getting any as long as she can see other's smile. It's rare to see a young girl with such selflessness and maturity, but that's Ahyeon for you.

THE BEAUTIFUL BLACK-PEARL ⋯ Even though she was born as the youngest of the Park family, living under her older sister's shadow is something she's already used to. Ahreum is beautiful, gorgeous even; her small face makes her look even younger than she is and she never fails to turn heads towards her with her attitude and sense of fashion. While Ahyeon, on the other hand, she looks just like your typical girl-next-door; there is almost nothing extraordinary about her. Her life revolves around her parents' wishes, she never opposes because it's her way for thanking them to be born, it's a child's duty to listen to their parents. She even buries her dream of studying abroad just to accompany their parents since they were so devastated when Ahreum left for her scholarship. She is hidden behind the curtain of her nearly perfect and ever-so-successful older sister's stage light, but she never complained about it even once. How, you ask? It's easy, they're sisters. They have a special bond that makes them understand each other like no one ever could and their love for each other easily wins over any kinds of jealous or hatred. And that's more than enough for her.

IT'S HER TURN TO CRY ⋯ However, Ahyeon's most fatal flaw is the fact that she rarely shares her own problems as she thinks it will only burden others. She always choose her words and her acts carefully; she's too scared to hurt other people that she herself is always the one ending up being hurt (she brushes it off like it's nothing every single time). She doesn't mind of course, but really, everyone has their own limitation. Ahyeon just haven't reached hers yet and who in the world knows what would happen if she does (as they say it, kind people are always the scariest when they're angry, although you won't find her getting angry much). People taking advantage of her are a daily sight. She's not dumb, no, she knows she's being used. But on the other hand, getting sad and hating won't do anything good for herself either, so why bother? As long as she can help and if it makes them thankful even though it's only on the inside.  Holding on to anger and revenge is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.

❝ trivia —
⋯ She graduated from Inha University last August, half a year early compared to her friends, with a Bachelor of Psychological Science.
⋯ She wanted to take Children Education but her parents thought it wouldn't give her a proper future so she gave it up.
⋯ She has never lived alone her whole life.

⋯ She cooks well, but only Korean food thanks to her conservative mother.
⋯ She has a slight OCD. She likes seeing things aligned properly and organizing things. Ahreum loves this about her sister most since
she gets automatic help when cleaning her room.

⋯ She has a part-time job in a day-care near her house every Thursday and in the weekends. There's this little 6-years-old boy that goes

⋯ by the name of Jung Woojin who practically has a crush on her and follows her everywhere. (It's her little secret but he reminds her a lot

⋯ of Chanyeol; they're both loud and the moodmaker of the group and she can't help but smile everytime the thought comes to mind).
⋯ She gets sleepy really easily but fortunately she's not hard to be woken up.

PARK CHANYEOL (26) ⋮ BOISTEROUS, HONEST, QUIRKY, SPONTANEOUS

back up partner — Oh Sehun / Kim Jongdae

❝ personality —

Park Chanyeol is probably the epitome of a child wrapped in a good derp-looking gigantic loud mess. He's always been the happy virus among his friends because really, the sight and sound of his laugh alone is enough to make others laugh as well. Cracking lame jokes and throwing his handsome pride away only to make the others laugh are one of his habits now; even when they don't laugh and just stare at him weirdly, he'd still laugh by himself because he thinks he's hilarious. He mostly has the simplest way of thinking, shortly said, his actions are mostly spontaneous as he believes everyone loves surprises every once in a while.

He never likes thinking about ordinary things the complicated way, but sometimes he realizes he's no longer seventeen and he has responsibilities towards his job and his father and there is barely such a thing as comfort-zone anymore when you're over twenty five that he accept things the way it is and suddenly changed to a more focused, more mature-looking Chanyeol. He blurts out deep and meaningful thoughts on some matters without thinking and he just keeps surprising people around him by doung so. Don't keep your hopes up, you won't see those sides of Park Chanyeol that much, but he really can get mature time to time.

Chanyeol is the worst at hiding his feelings though. He'd try his best, but his face and body always reacts before his brain can that it doesn't help much. A little example, you're going to hold a surprise party for your friend's birthday and you told Chanyeol not to tell the main character. He won't, but his facial expression sends out hints all over the place that the surprise party only had 20% success rate. (It's a wonder Ahyeon doesn't realize that he has feelings for her; even Ahreum gets the hint after a few times of accidental observation, so it's either she knows but is in denial, or she really doesn't know).

❝ relationship —

They first meet when Chanyeol and Ahreum were back in high school. She had brought him home to do a Science project together and ended up staying overnight because both were too immersed in playing Tekken 3 to start working on the project. It would be a good first impression with Chanyeol grinning and Ahyeon blushing because honestly, whoever sees him would agree that he's extremely good-looking (when he's not derping) and Ahyeon is always a fan of beautiful things. But she was struggling with all her might for her final exam and Chanyeol was being way too loud shouting curses at his "Heihachi" and "Lei" and "Eddy" for her liking. But fortunately for them (and for Ahreum for being saved from Ahyeon's all-night complaining and blaming her "friend" for the decrease of her grades), things get better when she decided to take a break and made some kimbap rolls for the three of them and Chanyeol blurted out of the blue how it's the most delicious kimbap rolls he had ever tasted it's even more delicious than his mother's. Ahyeon blushed at the compliment and Ahreum wouldn't stop teasing about the same matter for weeks.

Their relationship weren't exactly cat-and-dog like, but they're not at their best state either. At first they only saw each other in her house because Ahreum brought him over a lot that Ahyeon started thinking they're a couple (Ahreum faked a gag and said it "wouldn't ever happen ew"). Even so, she realized he had hidden feelings towards her sister because their conversations were mainly about Ahreum. (Chanyeol, however, would find himself looking at Ahyeon once in a while, especially when she's cooking, wondering how someone around his age can be so graceful and mature and their differences was captivating for him).

When he went after Ahreum to Canes in impromptu and came back six years later, she thought they'd be together this time around, but instead she found a broken Chanyeol telling her how he lost to someone named Jongin and that he should've done something sooner but regret always comes last. She ended up being his shoulder to cry on as she listened to him complaining and ranting (and not-so-subtly asking her to cook him something because angry Chanyeol is hungry Chanyeol), and he'd come to her house time and time again whenever he felt like it. They'd go out for a coffee or ice cream or bubble tea or a dinner (they went for a fancy dinner in suit and dress and stuff and it was really uncomfortable that they decided to scram out to McDonalds instead) and Ahyeon just couldn't resist because really, Chanyeol is a fun being to be around with (and he always pays). Slowly but surely and unintendedly, coming to her house was becoming more of a habit simply because he wanted to see her face and her comforting laugh and Chanyeol began to realize his true feeling. His crush on Ahreum was honestly just a friendly attachment since they are alike in the weirdest ways. But being around Ahyeon makes him comfortable and so himself that it never feels right whenever they're not together.

He was about to confess to her when Ahreum came back from France with her boyfriend and stayed for a few days. During, Ahyeon suddenly became all bright and happy and just so in love that he decided to keep his feelings to himself because he knew those gentle stare and light-hearted laugh and beautiful smile wasn't directed at him. Vowing to himself to be someone good enough to protect her, he kept his stupid wide grin and excessive laugh to cover all the pain inside his chest whenever he sees her looking at that certain someone with unexplainable expression.

(He thought he was done when he saw her tears during the wedding; a gentle smile accompanied but he's sure he was the only one who could see the over-flowing sadness behind what other people thought were happy tears. He gathered every courage he had to confess to her that night during the dance, with a silent promise to himself that he would never make her cry).

⋯ He lived in Canes for six years and it's all thanks to Ahreum he never got lost or kidnapped and lived properly because of his horrible

⋯ French. ("I'm still better than your sister though, right?" / "She got better pronounciation than you even back when she still hasn't known

⋯ much, she's K.O-ed you for a long time now.")

⋯ He came back to Korea as per his father's request to start learning to inherit the company soon in the future. Believe it or not, he's a

⋯ third generation chaebol from a huge insurance and trading company. He's not the type to show off (he sometimes got embarrassed,

⋯ even) so not many of his friends know about this. (I saw some of the applicants already have chaebol background for their love interest

⋯ so feel free to deduct this point if you want, it won't be needed anyway I think? o n o; )

⋯ Surprisingly have mad beat-boxing skill.
⋯ He's really close to the girls' mother (imagine him complimenting her a lot like "Auntie, you look so gorgeous today, did you change

⋯ your hairstyle?" Lmao)

KIM JONGIN ⋮ PLAYFUL, COMPASSIONATE, DARING, CONFIDENT

❝ relationship —

The time period of their meeting can be counted with two hands alone, but still, Ahyeon is head over heels in love with Kim Jongin. It's his laugh, she thinks, that playfully light yet sincere sound slipping out of his lips whenever something amusing to happened. When she sees him, she sees what Ahreum sees in him, and no matter how much she thinks it's not something she's supposed to be doing, it's not that easy to just get rid of your feelings and pretend it never happened.

Their first meeting was during their parents' 50th anniversary; Ahreum came back for a break of her study and she had brought along her boyfriend to be introduced to the family. He was good-looking; a tall, fine man with a deep, enchanting voice that Ahyeon found herself staring at him for longer than she should. He was warm too, and he knows how to worm his way to their parents' hearts. The first night passed too shortly for Ahyeon's liking and she couldn't sleep that night for everything in her was filled with that hearty laugh.

At first she thought it was jealousy, because every good thing always seem to happen only to Ahreum and never to her, including this gorgeous boyfriend jackpot. But as he smiled that gentle smile at her, occasionally laughed at her actions, took candid pictures of her with his camera (he does it almost all the time, not only to Ahyeon), and sometimes let out a chuckle with a short "You and Ahreum are so different yet so alike in so many ways", she knew it wasn't mere jealousy. She had never been in love with someone so deeply, and the fact that he's her sister's fiancè felt like the end of the world for her.

She knew it was a one-sided feeling, so she did tried her best to forget about him but the late night phone calls with her sister always ended up with Jongin talking to her and telling her to take care of herself so she thought it wasn't really her fault to think that she had the chance.

(Little did she know, he was just trying his best to be accepted by Ahreum that he acted all big-brothery on her.)

the wedding bells.

❝ how you reacted to the wedding invitation —
Actually I've had the thoughts. Rumi was always one with a "I don't need a man" attitude but I could feel her changing her mind for the past few years by the way she talks whenever we're on the phone. I know it's because of Jongin. I'm still surprised it's really happening though.. I haven't seen her properly for a little over ten years now, although I'm pretty sure being awkward around each other is way out of the question, but seeing her in a wedding dress would still be... bizarre? (*chuckles*) There are.. some things that make me wish I'd be able to not go, I'm not going to lie. But I guess there are some other things that makes me look forward to it, including seeing Rumi in a wedding dress and meeting the other girls as well. And maybe even catching the bouquet. Family is everything you'll ever need, right?

❝ home for christmas — A reunion, at last, after all these years. I missed Rumi, phones are never enough to talk, I need her in person right here, skin and bones and all. I can't wait to see everyone else as well since most are going abroad soon as they graduated. I wonder if everyone's still the same..

❝ scene requests —

⋯ Ahreum finds out her sister and Chanyeol have the same birth date and jokingly tells him that they're soulmates (this should be around high school or Canes days?). Chanyeol gets silent because he's slightly mad but Ahreum takes it as a yes and keeps teasing him. It'd be awesome if he gets furious and shouts at her and scrams away. cx

⋯ Ahreum and Ahyeon late night bonding time! It started with teasings and jokes and cuddling but it got intense when Ahreum started blabbering about Jongin with dreamy eyes for a long time and Ahyeon cuts her with fake snores and closed eyes to hide her tears that's threatening to fall. Ahreum just smiles and kisses her forehead and sleeps as well, not knowing  Ahyeon then starts to cry as silent as she can be until she falls asleep. (It's up to you whether Ahreum hears it or not o u o)

⋯ Ahyeon and Jongin's time alone when he visited the family. He unconsciously takes pictures of her (because she reminds him of Ahreum) and Ahyeon takes it the wrong way thinking she has some hope. Or or or Ahreum and Jongin being all lovey-dovey and Ahyeon could only watch with her heart shattered to pieces (and cue Chanyeol entering the scene being the derp he is to cheer her up). Just, heart-breaking scene please? ; n ;

⋯ The heavy atmosphere when Ahyeon and Chanyeol helps with the wedding preparation. Chanyeol would crack lame jokes trying to make the air lighter but it's hard because Ahyeon is too lost in her own world (because Ahreum is marrying Jongin and the fact just hasn't settled quite deeply in her heart or maybe she's just wishing it will never do) that they just decide to continue working overnight in silent. They fall asleep in each other's shoulder until the next morning.

⋯ Chanyeol asked her for a dance at the wedding and he confesses and Ahyeon got angry thinking that he's using her because he can't get together with Ahreum. Just dramatic stuff, I guess. Mehehe?

⋯ I'll add more when I have more ideas. c:

❝ anything else? —
⋯ I'm not sure if we have the same vision about this plot so this is mine. So Chanyeol was already over Ahreum for a long time now after he came back to Korea and sets his eyes for Ahyeon instead without himself knowing since she was so different from him and so mature it's captivating for him, but he keeps mistaking it for a brotherly love since she's his best friend's sister (although it does kinds of hurt for him when Ahyeon hints him very vaguely that she falls for Jongin). Basically, Ahyeon is like "He's married to my sister, what should I do, I love him and I'm going to break", and Chanyeol will be like "It's okay, I'm here, look at me, I'll protect you and I won't ever make you sad" kind of relationship. Because I'm thinking if both are still all over Jongin and Ahreum even on / after the wedding day, it means their feelings are like deep and it won't be easy to get out of it. So if Chanyeol and Ahyeon do get together, the relationship won't be a sincere one but rather a "I can't date Jongin/Ahreum so why not date her bestfriend/her sister instead?", you know. It's gonna hurt them both in the future. Do I even make sense now odg. I just want both to be happy, especially Ahyeon that's why I make it like this orz. ; ;

⋯ I didn't put anything about Jongin in most of the sections (especially in how she reacted to the wedding invitation thing) because I kind of have the idea of her vowing to herself not to tell a single soul about him, not even expressing anything because she's used to keep things inside and sort of like torture herself so I want to keep things that way. I made an extra section for Jongin and Ahyeon poured everything there though, I hope that's okay.

⋯ I hope I put enough interaction here and there between the Park sisters? OTL If you think it's not enough then please let me know so I can add a special section for it. c:

⋯ I'm sorry I'm just really in love with Leo Recipon, he's so adorable I feel like I have to incorporate him to Ahyeon somewhere. ; u ;

⋯ This is getting way way longer than I thought it'd be I DEEPLY APOLOGIZE. The layout is so beautiful though. ; ; Good luck with the story! ♡

it's the most wonderful time of the year
