background - Kyungah was born the second daughter and maknae of her family in Ulsan, South Korea. She led the ideal life, surrounded by the love of her family and her friends at school (she wasn't popular, but she didn't have a nice little circle of friends to hang out with). When she 6 years old, her sister started taking dance classes. Their parents had signed her up because the girl came home, begging to go because all of her friends were doing it, so they agreed but she ended up not liking it. Kyungah on the other hand was mesmerized as she watched her sisters rehearsals (ocassionally she would sneak off and watch the practices of other, older and more experienced dancers). She decided then that she wanted to be a dancer. When Soah dropped out of her class, Kyungah took her place and she excelled. From then on, when she wasn't at school, she was taking lessons in hip hop, jazz, and modern dance.

The dance world turned out to be a lot more cutthroat then Kyungah ever imaged it would be. No. It wasn't about just moving, having fun, and bringing music to life; it was all about steadily climbing up the ranks - both in the class, in the studio, locally, and beyond. Kyungah found that many of her classes were full of girls (and sometimes even their own mothers) putting each other down and working hard, not so that the dance would look good, but so that they themselves would look better than the others. Kyungah tried to stay out of this mentality, but she always managed to get in a little bit by gossiping and working hard to be the one who shined on stage. She still has a little bit of that mentality with her to this day.

In 2007, Kyungah's father took a job transfer to Seoul, packing up the whole family and moving them during a break from school. Once settled into Seoul, Kyungah found out about auditions being held by YG Entertainment for female dancers. It took a lot to convince her parents that she was ready enough for an opportunity like this and finally gave in. She auditioned for a position in Crazy, YG's all-female dance team. She had to audition twice before she was eventually accepted as. She went on to dance back-up for Big Bang and 2NE1. However, she began to realize that she didn't want to be in the back. She wanted to be an idol herself, like many of her role models.

personality - Kyungah is a little on the more reserved side. She doesn't usually approach others first, but she's very friendly (at first) when other's approach her. She forms opinions of others quickly and usually hard to change her mind if a first impression ends up being a pretty bad one. She's a little judgemental, but she typically keeps it to herself to avoid causing any drama. On the hand, the girl can be just as silly as she is hard-working. "Work hard, play hard" is her motto and indeed, she does. She likes having fun and can't stand being bored. If she's not sleeping, she wants to be doing something that she likes, even if it means going out by herself even though she'd rather be with others.

She likes getting praised and does become upset when she isn't. She busts her to always be the best dancer and to appear engaged and energetic on variety shows in order to get camera time or to get the audience or the crew to laugh with her. On camera, she's definitely one of the louder and more outspoken members of the group. But she never reveals much about herself, being adamant about keeping her private life private (even from her group mate smost of the time).

fashion style - Kyungah dresses like a cute, slightly more feminie version of a tomboy. She's seldom found in dresses and skirts (outside of outfits related to her job). She usually rocks skinny jeans and a cute top with high-top sneakers or boots in the winter/sandals in the summer. She likes to wear bright colors more than dark ones and usually styles her hair in pigtails. She doesn't accesorize much beyond a few bracelets and earrings unless the stylists provide her with extra jewelry.

She likes to show off and is very proud of the fact that she's in graduate school studying history, even though the odds of her finding a job related to history is very slim. At times, both girls tend to resent each other. Soah is jealous of Kyungah's talent while Kyungah is jealous of the fact that Soah leads such a normal and fun life away from the industry.

When she was with YG, it wasn't uncommon to find her and Wonki hanging out in the building or in any of the nearby restaurants and coffee shops (she always managed to sweet talk Wonki into paying).
`` Lee Hongbin | 20 | idol, member of VIXX | Kyungah's closest friend in all of Jellyfish Entertainment. Hongbin likes to crack jokes and keep the mood light, which is great for the times when Kyungah is feeling overwhelmed about everything. She's very motherly towards Hongbin, nagging him about his eating habits and doing his chores - especially doing his laundry.

their story - Blue has been steadily climbing up in popularity and are finally starting to get recognized by their idol peers after releasing an extremely successful single. In an interview, B.A.P is asked about Blue and Youngjae casually mentions that he's a fan and that Kyungah is his ideal type. Kyungah's group mates mercilessly about Youngjae's confession and, when B.A.P and Blue make an appearance at the same music festival, they force her to approach Youngjae.

trainee background: Kyungah joined YG Entertainment in 2010 as a trainee. In the meantime, she still performed with Crazy when she had the time. Yang Hyunsuk, who had been quite fond of Kyungah, admitted that there weren't any plans for debuting a new female artist (group or otherwise) any time soon. He said that if she wanted to, she was free to consider auditioning for other companies, where the chances of her debuting sooner were greater. Kyungah took his blessing and looked into numerous companies and attending auditions. She was eventually accepted into a handful but chose Jellyfish because she liked the atmosphere there. She became a Jellyfish trainee in 2011 where she worked day and night to improve in her skills and impress the trainers, even though it really cost her the opportunity to get close to many of her fellow trainees. Some saw her as a loner and a kiss-up and left her alone. Others were intimidated and viewed her as serious competition. She found trainee life at Jellyfish to be rather lonely, but at least she had Hongbin and her former YG Family to keep her company and give her someone to vent to.
