Personality: Aijia is a girl of extremes. When she's happy, she's really happy. When she's sad, she's sobbing unconsolably. When she's mad, she's flipping tables. Otherwise, she's just in a very calm and neutral sort of mood. She sort of considers herself the "sane man" and the happy medium between the many extreme personalities she's encountered during her time in South Korea. She's usually seen as the rational girl or the wisest of the bunch because she isn't quick to jump to conclusions or get overly excited. She looks before she leaps and tries to get her friends to do the same, with varying degrees of success. She's very big on manners and showing/receiving respect.

She's a hard worker, throwing herself into everything giving 100% and nothing less. It's not uncommon to find her working herself to the point of exhaustion to meet and exceed her goals (i.e. when SM told her to lose 3 kg before debut she dieted and exercised off 8kg). She's very driven, so much so that she may ignore a lot of the stuff going on around her. As a trainee, a lot of the other girls considered her to be a terrible friend or a loner because she often forwent social obligations in favor of practice to more for her potential future debut. Giving up just isn't her style, not matter how much of a lost cause something might be. Out of pride, she'll say she's "taking a break" instead of admitting defeat.

Since she was raised an only child, it would be a lie if someone said she wasn't a little bit spoiled. While her parents pressed the importance of humility to her, she still acts rather disatisfied until she gets whatever it is she's after. She's pretty sneaky and manipulative when she wants to be and she isn't quick to apologize, especially not when she's finally gotten her way with something. She's very perceptive and knows how to work over the people she knows well, exploting their desires and weaknesses. When she's exctremely desperate, she's not afraid to bust out some very interesting aegyo to try and reach her aim. However, she's still seemingly just as sweet as can be and is generally a very nice girl. She knows when to back down and put the more pressing needs of others before her trivial wants. She's good at seeing the bigger picture in things and seldom selfishly chooses to ignore it for her own gain. She's rather sacrificial, putting others first, as a result of her early childhood.

Background: Aijia hails from a middle class family born in Chongqing, China. Her mother used fertility treatments in order to give birth to multiples in order to get around China's dreaded One Child Policy laws. She conceived twins - Aijia and her younger-by-18-minutes brother Yu. Yu died at the age of four months from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Both of her parents were extremely effected by her brother's passing, so much to the point where Aijia was seemingly neglected by both of them as they mourned. They didn't really begin caring for her well again until about a year later. Her father acted like nothing happened while her mother overcompensated for the time she spent neglecting her daughter and spoiled the little girl rotten, constantly smothing her with her love and attention. Despite the relatively normal family dynamics they managed to obtain, Aijia was left with a strong sense of survivor's guilt.

Aijia had an interest in music from a very young age, obsessed with always listening to the radio and having her mother buy her cassettes and CDs instead of toys. There house was always filled with music - a combination of the music coming from Aijia's stereo and from Aijia's own voice. At age 9, Aijia's mother took her to a talent search at the local mall, hoping to find her an outlet and a place of recognition for her voice which was actually rather good. Aijia got scouted by a Chinese company, the family relocated to Beijing, and spent 2 years in a young girl group called Flower before the group dispanded over contract disputes. The Zhen family stayed in Beijing where Aijia continued trying to pursue a career in entertainment with little success.

In 2008, 15-year-old Aijia attended an SM Global Audition in Beijing. She was selected and the rest is history in the making.

Personality: Lay is a silent force. He's really good at flying under the radar so many people underestimate him and he just loves blowing people away with his charm and talent when they least expect it. Though he's constantly actively seeking attention and praise (what idol isn't?) he has still managed to remain extremely humble and gracious. He makes it a point to stay in touch with many of the people back home and in Korea who have shaped him into what he is today. He's very flexible, but he really can't tolerate when people break plans with him or when things change so fast that it's hard for him to keep up. He has a hard time expressing himself with words, but he can certainly tell many of his darkest secrets and desires through music and dance. He's an open book if you're able to understand his body language.
How you meet: Lay and Aijia met as trainees, assigned to the same Korean language classes at SM. They, along with Tao, seemed to struggle the most out of all the Chinese trainees and formed a strong bond over their initial inability to do well in class. Together, they all got better.
How you treated each other: They both treat each other kindly as friends do. They like to trade off of acts of kindness such as buying lunch or doing each other's Korean homework. Aijia is actually rather reserved around Lay - since he never seemed to share too much information with her, she felt like she needed to hold back from him as well. At least until she figures out how to read him better.
Relationship: Currently friends. Lay falls for Aijia first while she's trying to figure out how she feels about Alen.

Personality: Alen is a calm, laid back boy who is still bursting with charm and charisma when he tries. He's hard working and loves a good challenge, as long as it doesn't rock the boat too much because he still likes having some sort of a routine and stability in life. He has his moments where he's completely unsure of himself and usually has to do a lot of soul-searching and thinking before he makes any kind of decision about something. He's not impulsive at all, but he will be when there's something that he knows he really wants do, see, or have. He doesn't joke around a lot, but when he does his jokes absolutely and that's probably what makes them so hilarious. When he's close to someone, who goes all out to make sure they're happy. Seeing people cry makes him extremely uncomfotable - so uncomfortable that he actually might start crying himself.
How you meet: Alen's father is an old friend of Aijia's father from their school days and kept in touch. When Alen was accepted as a Cube Entertainment trainee, he encouraged Aijia to reach out to him so she would have a vaguely familiar face/friend in South Korea and she did as she was told.
How you treated each other: Alen and Aijia treat each other very well. They have a close and strong bond and can often be found calling, texting, tweeting, and skyping each other, especially when Alen's group travels back and forth between South Korea and China.
Relationship: Good friends. Alen likes her while Aijia initially sees him as a brother, but does toy with the idea of being more with him on more than one ocassion.

Personality: Victoria is a mom through and through. She always takes very good care of the people she's closest with, but it's very hard for people to become truly close with her because she does have a few walls built up. She's still friendly to everyone, though. Always busy, Victoria's mind and mouth run at a mile a minute and she's always up to something whether it be rehearsing or preparing meals for her groupmates. She has a very low tolerance for people who bring too much drama and usually avoids characters like that unless they have to interact for business purposes.
Why are you rival: In the K-pop trainee world, it's not totally uncommon for trainees not of Korean origin to be discriminated against in some way and Aijia was definitely on the receiving end of some ethnicity-based hatred. She liked to reach out to the other Chinese trainees and performers under SM for friendship and support, but her attempts at becoming friends with Victoria always seemed to get shot down. Since Victoria seemed to refuse the idea of being her friend, she assumed Victoria hated her and thus began to treat her poorly in return. She basically feels like Victoria lost her sense of national loyalty.
How do you interact: Easy. They don't. At least not willingly. Unless they are forced into each other's close proximity, the most they'll do is probably exchange awkward, moderately hostile glances at each other. They are somewhat cordial in front of Amber and Luna because they don't want the two to feel like they're caught in the middle of something. And, of course, they put on a strong "we are SM family" front during SMTown events and performances.
Backup rival: Lee Ahreum (former T-ara). Reason: When Aijia's Korean improved enough, she transfered to the same high school that Ahreum attended. Ahreum was having an insanely bad day and was taking it out on anyone who came her path; and that included Aijia. Ahreum told her to "get lost and go back to China" and the two have had negative feelings toward each other ever since.
