Plagiarism!! Guys, please help me!

Dear readers, writers, fellow ELFs, I need your help.

I've been plagiarized. Not just once, but TWICE. YES, TWO ING TIMES, and that's just as far as I know, so there might even be more of them out there.

BOTH Masquerade and The Last Bet were taken from me without authority and posted somewhere else (obviously less public than AFF) by someone who apparently indicated himself or herself as the author.

To tell you the truth, I have witnessed the plagiarized version of The Last Bet with my own eyes a couple of days ago when I was cruising through some blogs to read fics. The person who posted it pretended to be the true author, and even translated it into what seemed like his or her own language so that only those people who speak that language may read it. I had my doubt when I first saw the title 'The Last Bet', and merely thought 'oh well, I'm pretty sure it's just a coincidence that someone wrote a different fic just with the same title as mine', but I decided to check by using Google translater anyway, and what the hell, it turned out to be MY STORY!!!! I didn't know what to do so I just ended up not doing anything about it + now I forgot where I saw it.....sorry, me and my pea brain just don't work together sometimes...;;;;;

But as for Masquerade, I didn't find out about plagiarism until today, when a new reader commented "either the other person or you stole the idea, someone else wrote that story." WTF seriously, I stole the story? Well, I don't know about stealing, but does stealing a story usually take a couple of months, because I spent  ing months writing and fixing Masquerade!! I don't even know where this plagiarized version of Masquerade is floating about, I don't even know who's doing what.

Why would people do that? I don't understand, I didn't even think that stuff like this would happen to me. My stories aren't that good either, so why waste precious time in stealing them, huh??!!! (I'm not saying good stories deserve to be plagiarized, of course!)

I hate to be misunderstood as the stealer, when I really am the original author!! How do I prove it?

What can I do about this?

Please help me, guys!!! (excuse my language btw)

I love your work. Every one of them! But somehow, let's face it that there are people who could not respect others. They can do something shameful and yet these people could do it without a blink. In some countries where plagiarizm are hard to eradicate, lots of people doing it without being caught and face the consequences.They even copy some one else's work for doctorate degree! Once I live in the US and there is someone copied other's work for the thesis. He is an Asian (I will not say all Asian are like him, I am an Asian, too). The professor found out just in time because he knew his is not bright to write such thesis.The professor was having a hard time proofing it because Asian usually have their own writing (pinyin, hanggul, thai's writing, etc) which he could not even read. And this guy took it out from those website with no roman letters but they provide links to papers and thesis in English.I am not sure whether it is common or not for these people to copy not just the idea but the whole thesis. Could you believe that? This professor had just a feeling and he checked with the help from other professor from other universities. The guy was expelled. My point is do not let these kind of people discourage you to write. The talent is yours not theirs. Go for a higher goal such as publish a book. Please be strong. Big bear hugs. Fighting!

I just read this post and wth.. Been plagiarized just like...like we just want to slap those es but could not since we can't meet them face to face and the feeling is just....UGH. They are doesn't have brain at all.

Hello dear author, I know of a person who is translating his story, but that person tells you how topsyhobby author, only translates, and put the link to that if people want to read here in English, You mean that? :/ your stories are very good, but not I viewed someone indicating history as
of they same.

Now for plagiarism, I know authors who also have passed, they have reported, or even we the readers have claimed, fortunately eliminated, mmm also there an option to contact the person, or as mentioned, you can put your readers are only those who subscribe.

Your stories are good!! Of course they would tried to steal from you. That's really bad when they didn't even ask for your permission, I don't know what to do to help you but maybe you can try to talk to them....they should at least linked the original author.Well, I hope everything will be okay....I'll support you no matter what! ^^ hwaiting!~

Who plagiarized it? You should confront them. Anyway, you should totally get a twitter account or something.

Do whatever you need to do unnie to make that idiots respect your hard work and your talent, Masquerade and The last bet are two of my favorite stories and I think I'm talking for everyone that loves your fics, that if its something that we could make to help you just ask!
I don't really know a way to help you, but some of the advise in the comments sounds very acurate, so go author-nim and you are not alone in this, lets protect your awesome works, count we us >:)!!

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. I really enjoyed your fics and I do think they're great but no matter how worthy of stealing they are, stealing is still stealing. Taking it away without permission and from a known author was stupid of them, so if they argue it's theirs, me and other of your old readers can testify you are the author.

If you find the link try and report them somehow. If you want to make it more official there are ways - that would involve money - to make the story free of plagiarizing.

Also, referring to blackwood's comment below, if you have the "disallow text selection" box un-checked, then you should probably check on that and mark it so people can't easily plagiarize you.

Another thing, I know it's hard to ask someone nicely after they stole something from you but try that first and if that doesn't work then you can be hard on the person afterwards.

Your fics are awesome so of course they want to copy it!! (I don't mean that many people are plagiator)

I just notice. In your old stories (masquerade and the last bet) you still allowing text selection. That means I still could copy-paste your work. Maybe that's why people could stealing your fics. You should edit masquerade and the last bet's chapters and click the tab 'dissalow text selection' so no one can copy paste-ing your works, that's quite effective because ppl had to retype everything you wrote if they want to steal your fics. And for the stealer, it is sound rude but you can post the stealer's user name in your fic and said they're the one who steal your stories. Or you can F-lock your fics temporarily until you had found and report the stealer.

i saw a translated version of your fic on tumblr but i ignored it since i thought you allowed that person to translate your fic..
