Kyung Soon is the only daughter of a lawyer with a Music and Performing Arts lecturer. Her dad is a lawyer in Seoul while her mom is a lecturer in Performing Arts in the Seoul University of Arts. Kyung Soon has two elder brothers, Kim Sang Bae and Kim Soo Ha, both are well known as good looking models on the runways and CFs. Her brother, Kim Sangbae was once an idol group member, MBLAQ but he left before even debuting for some health reasons and now remain to involve in modelling only. As her mother was also a vocal trainer in her own vocal training center, Kyung Soon was trained to have amazing vocal skills since she was at a very young age. Because of this, she got her family's full support for her to be a singer and soon she got accepted to be in SM's new girl group, Alice, after passing the stages of the auditions successfully.
