PERSONALITIES

If you meet Sonya for the first time, you’ll think she’s one of those girls that look shy and trying way too hard to be cute. If you get to know her you’ll realize she’s not like that at all. Even if you don’t know her, Sonya will be the first one to ask you your name. If she ever sees you again, be sure to expect a little nod of the head or a little wave of the head to say hi. Some wonder if there’s anything underneath that friendly face.

If you are friends with her long enough, you’ll know that Sonya is a keen and outspoken person. She will speak out, even though it might not be out loud at times. This also makes her blunt and sometimes a little too honest. But she does it out of love. Although she is organized like most girls, she has horrible time-management skills, thus always late for classes, appointments…you name it. She is a curious cat; Sonya’s not the smartest, but she hopes to travel around world and see all the things she is missing from paperback travel guides. BACKROUND STORY
Sonya was born in Canada but was abandoned by her parents. She was adopted at the age of 4 by a family of 3 that had a daughter that was a year older than Sonya. Since elementary school, Sonya had been participating in school music concerts and performances, hence developing a liking to it. Both her and Ji Yoon loved to sing and dance, dreaming that they will both be on the stage together.

Throughout their middle school life, Ji Yoon and her auditioned for a lot of companies, all of them were unsuccessful. At the age of 17, Ji Yoon was accepted into the trainee program at CUBE Entertainment, leaving Sonya alone. But she did not give up, the year of her step-sister’s debut, she passed an audition into JYP, getting a spot in Aurora Lights.

Sonya spent the next couple years as a trainee. During this time, she spent most of her time in the exercise room, and dance studio. Because she did not have any dance background, she had to train hard to keep up with the other trainees. In her spare times, she was would learn Japanese. As for her voice, she constantly challenged herself with more difficult songs that required stronger belting or a higher note. Other times, she had her head in the music while exploring the new city and her new found freedom away from home.
