Character Overview : 
If Minhyuk’s friend were to describe him in three words, it would be down-to-earth, quiet, and smart. He is known to have the most common sense and calm in his group of friends. Minhyuk is approachable and generally quite easy to get along with, greeting everyone with a smile. He does not try to put up a front in hoping people can accept him. He is a good listener and is willing to sit down and listen to your problems.

You might think if he’s such an approachable person, why would he be quiet? Minhyuk has a tranquil and yet serious side when it comes to arts. When he plays the guitar or piano or when he is reading prefers to be in quiet places and does not like to be interrupted. Minhyuk is modest; he does not think he is all that skilled in what he does because he is not gifted like other kids in the school. He is actually quite conservative when it comes to issues related to him.  He does not like to show that he is upset and unhappy. With his friends, he prefers to keep happy so that he does not ruin everyone else’s time.

Everyone calls him smart, well more like he is studious in his opinion and kind of like a jack of all trades. He pretty good in all the subjects he takes, except the maths and most sciences. He can never wrap his head around chemistry or physics or calculus.  He is definitely not the smartest or at the top of the class; he gets the occasional 70s and a lot of 80s but never perfect or even close. But little does the world know how competitive and jealous he can be. He has tolerance with people, which might be the reason he has lots bottled up inside. He does not like to show that he is competitive, when someone plays a piece better than him; he practices hard to be better. Some can call him an actor, he smiles all the time. He can hates or loathes someone to the point that would make him kill them, figuratively. Sometimes, his thirst to win overcomes him and causes him to act irrationally. Deep down, he dislikes being characterized as the good smart guy. He wants to step out, and do something out of his 'character' for once.

[Im Soo Min , 42 , alive , father] Minhyuk’s father who is a junior soccer coach and a businessman does not get along with his son due to their difference in interest and personality. Minhyuk’s father is an athletic man, one who believes that a man is an entrepreneur and has their interest in more manly fields such as sports, cars, and business. Minhyuk is a total opposite; appreciating art and the world around him. Even though they don’t get along, it does not mean they hate each other. Actual Background : 
Minhyuk was born in Toronto, Canada. His parents had immigrated to Toronto a few years back. His mother was a Mandarin and East Asian Studies professor at University of Toronto. His father, a businessman, tends to go out of town often so he was left home with his mother. She was a big influence on him; he would go with his mother, sit in her lectures and listen to her talk of different countries and culture. From then on, he had a dream to travel and learn about different places around the world. His mother was also a music teacher and often had private lessons for children at their house; Minhyuk would often sit on the stairs and watch his mother teach. Seeing as how fascinated he was, she began teaching him piano at the age of 8. She soon found out that he had a unique talent; perfect pitch. He was also jealous of his father. Why? Because he was able to travel and Minhyuk felt that his dad was having all the fun himself and never  took him to his trips.

At school, his favourite subject was music. He would join the choir, though he did not find it as fun as he thought it would be, and bands. In grade 6, he began to play the guitar, teaching himself but borrowing out music books from the library. He also fancied geography and history, where he would be the one with his head propped on his hands and listening intently. In grade 8, his family had to move to Korea because his father had taken up a permanent position there. Moving to Seoul, he found it a bit difficult due to the fact that he barely spoke Korean in Canada and hence grew to be less openly cheerful and kept a low profile. His mother found a teaching job at Sookmyung Universtiy. She spent less time with him now as she was a lot busier. Luckily, he had his pretty and popular cousin, Nana to help him through the first year or so of adjusting.

Now at his high school, he is a lot friendlier and cheerful. He still does not talk a lot but is known to be hard working, and talented in music. He considered switching out of Notre Dame Catholic Academy because he is not Catholic and second he wanted to pursue music at an arts school but stayed because the school offered one of the better cultural studies programs. To this day, his father still somewhat dissapproves of his hobbies. Minhyuk tries hard to make his father fully accept him by practicing and improving in these areas and putting up a strong and independent front for everyone.

Appearance : 
Minhyuk often gets complimented on his milky skin, soft features, and being skinny but little does people know it’s his complex. As much as he does not like to be entirely “more men” as his father wants, he wants his looks to be manlier. He has a somewhat shaggy short haircut. Nobody sees or notices this, but his ears are different from each other; his right is slightly bigger than the left.

Minhyuk does not really care for what he wears. His closet is generally things that he like: comfortable, clean, crisp, and sometimes carry a sense of maturity. Understanding that first impressions are important, he wanted people to see him in what he wears so he does not try to accessorized or make himself look grand or overly fashionable. He generally wears jeans and a comfortable polo shirt. When it is cold, he likes to put on a beanie to keep his head warm. He also likes sweaters and hoodies, and depending on occasion, he would slip on a sleek blazer. Do you think your character is good enough for this fanfic: I spent a lot of time coming up with this character and I believe that this character has what it takes to get into the high school. He is like a clean slate waiting to be written on. Every story (most of them anyways) needs to have an 'innocent' character this.

If you get chosen would you comment all the time : We all have busy lives, well I know I kind of do, but I will try my best to comment whenever you guys put up a new chapter or when there is an interesting conversation happening in the comment section.

Would you unsubscribe when you're not chosen : I never really unsubscribe to anything, BUT I have one exception and that is when those stories have unpleasant-to-the-eye format style and bad grammar. (It’s a pet peeve.)
