Missing Me, AFF?

I hope not.

No, just kidding. I've missed you all, too!! *hugs*

Forgive me for my tardiness in uploading story, as well as my disappearance for these last two months. As some of you might have known, I recently quitted my previous job (since March 1, 2013) to stake my fortune of becoming a French tour guide (Oui, je parle francais, mais pas couramment) and it's not easy.

And not only because my French is so-so, which is the main problem. I do better in writing, and I've got to face the ugly truth that my knowledge about Bali, my beloved island, my home, is so very limited I won't be able to answer if you ask me how many citizens Bali currently has. Of course, you can always use Wikipedia, but not knowing your own home is a different, much worse story. I'm working on it now.

I've got to be a trainee for at least three months, unpaid. Well, for someone like me, it doesn't sound good. Boy, does it ever sound good. I used to be regularly paid every month, even if it was not much, and the sense of instability shakes me a bit. Furthermore, I'm officially 25 now, which is a very mature age to ask for allowance from my parents. *facepalm*

But hey, c'est la vie. It's indeed such pain in the arse, head, heart, feet, arms, but this is my life. Everyday I start with going to the travelling agent where I work to pick up the guide service order. It's either fetching the clients from the airport and bring them to the hotel they've booked, or otherwise. It takes hours to reach the hotel, and I can visit the airport almost twice everyday. It takes the best of my stamina and I fell sick on my second week (right on the eve of my birthday). Occasionally, I follow a senior guide on a trip which lasts from two days to a week to learn how to serve the tourists everything they need to know about Bali. And this is the sweetest thing.

I've been heading to my professional goal, a job which leads me to explore the place where I was born. From the temple Besakih where I've got to walk nearly a kilometer to reach it to Kerta Gosa, which is a traditional court used centuries ago, from the beautiful Lake Batur to rice terrace in valley Gunung Kawi, this is the face of Bali I haven't seen before, complete with its traditional, daily life which is far from glamorous Kuta or Nusa Dua.

Some say Balinese tourism won't last long regarding how poorly it's managed. Some other say Bali is not that interesting and friendly anymore, with its bribing and illegal levies which target the visitors. Some of my family members say I'm not suitable for this job, 'cause I don't usually talk much. But for now, just let me do one of the things I like, in a place I love the most.

P.S: I'll be back in a few days with more articles and hopefully an update. Gbu guys
