i recently had to write two short papers for english. & it was basically a free write thing hehe.
and i made them exo customized. c:

The winds were harsh and brutal, whipping garbage and pieces of paper that flew into the air. It was a horrid day, unacceptable for anyone to be outside at the moment. Skies hung with a gloomy aura, rain about to pour onto the empty streets.

Kris had just been released out of his work office and he shivered once his body contacted with the air outside. It would be a very cold night.
On the dark drive home, the moment Kris stepped out of his car, the first droplets of the brewing rainstorm began to sound. In a matter of seconds, the intensity increased and was starting to drench his jacket. He rushed inside, but a whimpering sound caught his attention.

The tall man turned his attention to the side of his door and caught a glimpse of a furry leg trying to hide behind the bush. He bent down and eye contact was made with a drenched dog. It had no collar, making him realize that it was homeless.

Kris merely scoffed and went inside of his cozy home. He ignored the whimpers outside the window whenever lightning struck and continued with his house work.

After a couple of hours, Kris began to get ready for bed. The rain continued to come down from the sky, the pitter patter audible to his ears. He shifts and stares at the ceiling in his pitch black room. His mind begins to wander. It’s such a bad day...

The whimpers of the dog enter his mind. After much thought, Kris jumps out of bed and goes to the front of his house. The rain hits his body, his thin pajamas about to be soaked in a few minutes. The dog is still huddled at the bush of his front lawn. He scoops the poor thing and runs inside, immediately providing it with warmth. He soon dries the dog and provides it with some food and water.

Sitting down at the table with the dog next to his foot, Kris smiles.

The dim sunlight that seeped through the blinds made my eyes open as I rolled out of bed. I clutched my throbbing head in frustration. The migraine pounded and I stood up with wobbly legs, trying to recount the past events that had happened a few days ago. It made it hard to remember things; the memories were distant and the more I thought, the more my head felt numb.

“Feeling better?” My accomplice, Edison, stared at my figure with his cold eyes. His words were sweet, but his tone was icy. Edison leaned on the wooden door frame that had been reconstructed many times because of its weak structure.

I approached him with precaution. Edison was an impatient man, one that gets angered easily. However, he was strong which made him a decent agent. “Fine,” I replied. “Better than before.”

“Good. Regenerate the equipment. We have another case," Edison walked out of the room before I could say another word. I could only sigh and follow his command. I ruffled the things scattered in the drawer and swallowed an Advil. We would have to premeditate our plan which meant another sleepless night.

I sauntered over to my desk and picked up my refurbished prosecutor badge. I placed it back down and scanned through the files in the manila folder for our new mission. My head ached slightly as I tried to reintegrate the pieces of evidence together to get the whole story.

The papers slipped from my hands and scattered on the table. I placed them in chronological order, prefixing the older ones in front of the most recent documents.

Anonymous murder cases were the toughest.

However, I was up for the challenge.
