Ye Jin never wanted to be a singer in her life but as she grew older her family kept pestoring her and telling her to work in the musical/art business. Until her teen years she was told by many people she had a very nice singing voice but she just said 'Thanks' and never thinking about being a singer. She was told by her best friend to join her for auditions for JYP but she didn't get in. She told her best friend it was a good experience and then an agent from SM told her she had a lot of potential and told her to audition for SM. When she told her family she passed the auditions for SM they were ecstatic.
