Personality ; When first meeting her, Dani seems like a cold person. The fact that it's hard for her to talk to new people doesn't help that assumption, either. Once a person gets to know Dani, however, they find that she is goofy, blunt, sarcastic, and has a bit of a rebellious spirit. She speaks her mind on a regular basis and isn't afraid to do so. She can bring a smile to anyone's face by telling a joke or funny story. Dani is know to be stubborn and likes when she gets her way. She's never been one to compromise, but she isn't totally against it if she receives some benefits. She doesn't let what others think about her get to her, because she knows it only matters what she thinks about herself.

As a friend, Dani is very loyal even if she is a little rough around the edges. Since it's hard for her to make friends, she holds on to those she does make. She listens to her friends' problems and gives advice to the best of her abilities. Her bluntness  isn't very helpful in these situations, but she tries. Dani has never been very good with expressing her feelings and is often misunderstood. Her friends understand this and are patient with her, and for that she is thankful. She is always honest with her friends, so they can always come to her for her honest opinion. She trusts her friends and they trust her.

Determined is an understatement when describing Dani. She does all she can to achieve her dreams. She is also very competitive in things such as sports, or any type of competition in general. She is a very driven girl and won't let negative-type things stand in her way.    

Background ; As a child, Dani was shy, quiet, and smart. She made good grades, but she didn't have many friends. That changed when she met Veronica Lee, a Korean-American girl in her third grade class. The two stuck together like glue and became the best of friends that did everything together. She learned that Ronnie's father worked with her's, and that meant they were practically sisters in their young minds. When Dani had to leave for S. Korea, Ronnie was devastated, but the two still remain in touch. Dani has made two trips home since her stay in S. Korea, and she has spent each of those trips with her "sister".

Dani was an only child. Her father was Korean and her mother was half Chinese and half Caucasian. Her home was always filled with a mess of Korean, Mandarin, and English languages. The family of three made it work though. Her father was a big business man that owned many casinos in Las Vegas and her mother was the head chef at the largest casino her father owned. Her mother would teach her how to cook and her father taught her how to play many card games, much to her mother's displeasure. She also took dance, and was very great at it. She was the best student, and won many competitions. Dani was very privaleged, but wasn't spoiled. She didn't always get everything she wanted, and would get in troble like any other child. Soon Dani's happy family was torn apart.

Her mother caught her father cheating and divorced him when Dani was nine. After the divorce, her father moved back to S. Korea and Dani stayed with her mother. She took the divorce hard, developing the rebellious spirit she has today. She caused trouble at school and would have detention on a weekly basis. Her grades never dropped, but her mother was still worried. The two received a letter that her father had remarried when Dani was 12. Her mother had never remarried, and she hated her father for how he could move on so easily. She threw herself into dancing more than she ever had to escape. Out of boredom, she submitted a video of herself dancing to the Online Audition for SM Entertainment when she was almost 15. She didn't believe she would get in, but she was very surprised when she received an email on her 15th birthday that she had been accepted. Dani moved to S. Korea the following month, staying with her father and new step-family. It was weird at first, but her new brother made it bareable.

If yes , how ? ; The two met while Dani was a trainee in Cube. She admired him from afar at first; his goofiness, lack of skinship, and charisma attracted her. They finally met during "Show Week", where the girl trainees performed for the boys and vice versa. He complimented on her dancing, and the two got to know each other more.

If yes , how ? ; During her short time at SM, Kai and a few other boys worked with the female trainees on dancing. Dani was his partner. Things were awkward at first, but dancing brings people together. The two became closer, and Dani admired Kai as a dancer. She was sad when she switched companies, but she and Kai stayed in touch.
