Personality:
Daseul is an independent girl with a hidden soft side. She's always been tough, playing soccer and kickball with the boys during school breaks, then videogames with them after school. Her favorite toy was a blue dragon plushie (that she still has and sleeps with today). She's never been studious; her 'homework time' was spent on her laptop watching videos, working on/uploading remixes, and sneaking to the Underground rapping scene. Her parents loved her, but would always say how she was 'driving them crazy' with her little escapades. That was the only time when she would use aegyo- to get her parents' forgiveness. She grew up to be independent despite her wealthy family background. Although she did know how to act like a well-mannered young lady, she preferred to not use that knowledge. If you want to give her an order, you better have a well-prepared and sensible reason. One of her annoying traits is questioning other people. Her favorite question is probably, "Why?". But her curiousity had a positive side- she could talk to anyone. She had a lot of friends, and so did her brother. Daseul is definitely not shy; the only time when she would shut up would be when her pride was hurt. But that still doesn't stop her from putting in her two cents wherever and whenever. Even if no one cares. You could say that's why she doesn't follow the 'next big thing': she doesn't care what others think (most of the time...)
What Daseul lacks in book smarts, she makes up with street smarts. She's pretty good at reading people and their moods. But she doesn't pressure people to talk if they don't want to; she may be curious, but she's not rude. The softer side of Daseul likes romantic literature, nature, and has a natural kind of aegyo (like saying 'aigoo' and pouting out her lips unconciously). She doesn't like having the spotlight on her too much, even asking Masked Mystery's choreographer to avoid putting her in the center of their dance formation (even though she's a lead dancer). She's modest, but admits it when she does a good job (people who are too hard on themselves frustrate her). Daseul likes to joke around and actually likes skinship, to many people's surprise. She has an adorable eye smile, which she used to show a lot as a little girl.
During the difficult times after Daemin had become a 왕따 (loner, center of bullying), she went through a time when she was sullen and rarely smiled. Her temper spiked up, becoming almost unpredictable. She became unresponsive, not listening and spacing out often. Only her family still saw glimpses of the past Daseul. The time when she followed her brother on the subway to run away was the only time that she could remember crying, the last time being when she was about five or six. From that day forward, she had a pokerface on most of the time, but smiled more often.
Life soon was, although unstable, good. Daseul went back to being her lazy, boyish, and laidback self (although she did have to take on more responsibility living without parental support). But things got worse once again during her trainee days. She was only loud and cheerful with her brother at home. Daseul didn't tell her brother about the bullying; he had enough to worry about. So she endured it until she could finally debut. Being a member of Masked Mystery feels like a dream to her; she couldn't have asked for a better company, debut song, members...She feels like she actually belongs. But then her stubborn pride doesn't let her say such cheesy things out loud. Most of Daseul's emotions are hidden; but she's more vulnerable than she may seem.

✥My Life, My Secrets
Background: Daseul and Daemin were twins born to a well-off family. They were born as Im Daseul and Im Daemin. The two attended a nice boarding school: Daemin was always more studious than Daseul. They were close and stuck by each other, even hanging out with the same group of people at school. So when Daemin told Daseul his big secret, she swore to protect it no matter what. She found out that her brother had fallen for his best friend; his male friend. Daseul hated seeing her brother so uncomfortable and burdened by this, so she was the one to persuade him to confess. He eventually took his sister's advice, but that's when everything went wrong.
Not only did her brother become heartbroken, but word spread. Three other boys in his class found out and Daemin's life became hell. Daseul had to watch as her brother was bullied every day. He turned into an complete outcast in a matter of days. Since the they were so well known and loved before, even their family's reputation and business suffered. The worse part happened when Daseul beat up those three boys from Daemin's class when she saw them harassing her brother. She got a bad reputation as a violent kid and was forced to see a counselor at school every day. Both Daemin and Daseul were miserable, so they decided to cut off ties with their family and start over in a new area of South Korea (even going so far to legally change their last name to Ahn). Ever since, they've been living in an apartment by themselves. It got difficult for the two of them to go to school and work to pay for living expenses. Then Daemin suggested that his sister use her music skills to make it big and make a career out of what she loves to do. Daseul wasn't too enthusiastic about the idea at first since she wasn't very fond of the limelight and wanted to help support her brother with a more stable job. But she eventually decided to go through with it.

**Junyoung and Dahee do love their children; they wanted to keep them home and go through the hardships together, but Daemin was planning on running without letting them know. Daseul heard about his plan and begged to come with him. His only condition was to not let their parents know. She had no choice but to keep that promise.
Friends:
*Vivian Kwon > 19 > college student at USC > best friend; Daseul's best friend from the States. They chat online often; that's how they stayed close over the years. Vivian flew all the way to Korea when Daseul admitted to her that her brother was getting bullied. Vivian's a huge fan of pretty much every k-pop group out there and is ecstatic about Daseul's debut. She's definitely loud, kind of crazy, but very fun. Also, Vivian's the only person that Daseul's told Daemin's secret, too. Vivian thinks that bullying is stupid and agrees with Daseul that Daemin's perfect the way he is.
*Song Hyunwoo > 20 > community college student > friend; they met through Bang Yongguk. Hyunwoo (who Daseul calls Hyun for short) is a fellow amateur DJ. Daseul and Hyunwoo share a lot of the same interests, yet they always manage to argue. He flirts with her (never seriously of course), and she manages to always inflict some kind of physical damage to his body everytime they meet (ex. hitting his head, punching his shoulder).
*Shin Dong Geun (Peniel) > 19 > idol (BTOB) > friend; Daseul was closest to Peniel when she was a Cube trainee, and vice versa. They both had a relatively short training period before being added to a group; Daseul was scorned by fellow girl trainees for being lazy and 'unmotivated', fellow male trainees were annoyed by the fact that Peniel was still not completely comfortable with Korean but was debuting anyway. The two often spoke English to each other, practiced together, ate together, etc...
*Jung Ilhoon > 18 > idol (BTOB) > friend; Daseul and Ilhoon mostly worked on their rap together (and some dance). He's a very talented dongsaeng of hers, and she likes to . She uses his hatred of skinship to annoy him by hugging him a lot. They have many friendly competitions, sometimes over the stupidest things.
*Bang Yongguk > 22 > idol (B.A.P.) > friend; he's like family. Daseul's the one who got Yongguk to quit smoking, even though he's the one who always nags on her like a mother instead of being like an older brother. They met in the Underground rapping scene. Aqua's hoping that becoming an idol will make it easier to keep in touch with him. **Daseul met B.A.P. once through Yongguk. She thinks that Zelo's the cutest thing in the world and calls him 'dongsaeng' (little brother).
Enemies/Rivals:
*Son Naeun > 18 > idol (Apink) > Enemies; Originally, Apink was going to have eight members: the CEO of Cube/Acube had alotted a position for Daseul. He believed that since Daseul's appearance fit with Apink's concept, that it would all work out. But Daseul knew how wrong he was; After hearing 'I Don't Know', Apink's debut track, she immediately requested to be dropped out. Naeun and some of the other members mistook this as an act of Daseul suggesting that although she got a position despite being lazy, she 'thought that she was too good for being in Apink'. They see her as cocky and overrated.
Deep Dark Secret: Daseul comes from the Im family and has parents (although she tells people that they died in a car accident). She has severely injured a group of three boys who bullied her twin brother, giving her a bad reputation at her old school. She also keeps her brother's secret like it's her own.

History of Training: Daseul's training was difficult for sure. She wasn't exactly the 'best trainee' at her company. She slacked off way more than any of the other trainees and almost gave up to go back Underground at one point. But she was confirmed to be an Apink member a few days after that incident. During the training period after she was chosen, however, most of the other trainees began to gossip about her and be rude to her, saying 'How could that slacker get in when she isn't even serious about this?' But the thing is that Aqua is serious about music: she just wasn't sure if being an idol on a big worldwide stage was her thing. She really loves the Mask concept for the group because of this. She switched companies as soon as she heard about Apink's style for their debut. By that time, she didn't have much time to make friends and focused on Masked Mystery's debut.

Overall Appearance: Daseul claims that her arms get cold easily while her legs seem to never get cold (she's a bit narcissistic when it comes to her legs and likes showing them off). She wears shorts a lot, but she doesn't wear skirts or dresses unless it's a very important occasion. For tops, she tends to steer clear from any frills, lace, and sparkles. But that doesn't mean that she doesn't wear cute or pretty clothing; she does, just not as often as most girls. She also thinks that animal print is one of the biggest mistakes in the history of fashion. She always puts her hair into a high ponytail for dance practice and rarely styles it; on regular days she lets it down or wears a ponytail.
Daseul doesn't wear much make-up (on many occasions, she's too lazy to put any on at all) and has a baby-face, which she HATES when people think she's like sixteen or somthing and/or underestimate her rapping skills because of her looks. Personality With You: Hyunsik and Daseul's first meeting (under scene requests ^^) definitely wasn't expected. Honestly, she's embarrassed just by looking at his face. So she avoids him at all costs. But since she's pushing him away, Hyunsik naturally becomes curious of who Daseul really is and wants to get to know her. And slowly but surely, he begins to break through Daseul's defense and she finds herself thinking about him more than she should be...

Overall Personality: Zico's a great leader and knows all of the members almost as well as they know themselves. He jokes around a lot and likes laughing loud and proud. His stage presence is charismatic and cool, but to fans he's immature, fun, and at times dorky. Although he likes the camera, he doesn't hog the spotlight (intentionally) and monitors the members during their schedules.
Personality With You: Zico's one of those few k-pop artists that Daseul respects, but she'd never say that out loud. Plus, she was never one to fangirl like her friend Vivian. She doesn't squeal if they look at her or think they're 'so hot'. But although she's a strong girl, Zico has a way of making her soften. She's against the idea of having a relationship, especially with another idol, while she's in Masked Mystery. But when Zico insists to talk and work with her about music, she stops pushing him away and finds herself falling for one of her biggest idols- something that she's never expected to happen.

Scene Request?: a flashback of when Hyunsik and Daseul first met: They knew each other as fellow Cube trainees; nothing more, nothing less. Daseul was much closer to his dongsaengs, Peniel and Ilhoon. But their relationship changed one day. Daseul was going through hard times: she had just been confirmed to train with the other seven girls of Apink to debut and was in her own Hell. If the physical energy required wasn't enough to break her, the emotional abuse was. Daseul was strong when faced with bullying, but on that particular day, everything had went wrong. Her brother was in the hospital for malnutrition (he'd been working out too hard lately, wanting to become more masculine), they were in debt, her ankle had recently been slightly sprained, and to top it all off the girls had received carrots, brocolli, and tomatoes for 'food' (of course she didn't eat the carrots and tomatoes). Naeun, Yookyoung, and Bomi were scolding her for screwing up the synchronization of their dance routine when Hyunsik happened to be walking by. He scolded the girls, despite them being his sunbaes, and they walked away grumbling. He asked Daseul if she was okay when she suddenly burst out crying. She was embarrassed to cry in front someone who was practically a stranger to her, but Hyunsik was nice about it and offered to do anything to make her feel better. An hour later, they were at a nearby park drinking milk that he had bought from a convenience store. They talked and just connected in a way. Daseul didn't mention anything about why she had cried, but Hyunsik wasn't the kind of guy to pry. She still remembers him and that night even after she left Cube about a week after the incident. (sorry it's so long >.<)
