Personality*:

Jiae is a handful, to be honest. Do not let her looks fool you for her personality begs to differ. Jiae may seem like she's forever stuck at the age of fourteen, she is actually rather mature and is very opinionated in things that she is passionate in. When she has set her mind on something, she will never back down from it - this is both a wonderful trait and a flaw for her. Seeing as Jiae is really passionate about what she does, she often overwork herself as she always aim for perfection: in short, Jiae is a perfectionist. It's also a flaw for her because when she believes she is right, it will take a long, exhausting talk to make her decision falter - she becomes stubborn because of that.

One admirable thing about Jiae is how hard she works. She knows her weaknesses very well and she strives hard to overcome it. When she first came to Korea, she only knew the basic words that she had swiftly learned from her parents ("hello/goodbye", "how are you", "do you speak English?" and "where is the bathroom") hence when she was told to take Korean lessons, she will always put everything to the lesson as well. She takes time to learn at least 12 sets of new words every day. Her confidence in herself is rather high and she loves challenging herself.

To piss Jiae off is quite easy actually. Despite always having a smile on her face and looking as if she has no troubles bothering her, Jiae gets annoyed easily when people disturb her sleep. She hates it when people wake her up before her alarm clock does and she would get cranky and snarky to those who woke her from her slumber. On normal occasions, Jiae can actually keep her temper in check but not when she has her period. She has two types of period attitudes, for the lack of a better word. She has the 'anger' week - where every little thing will annoy her - and the 'sensitive' week - where even the slightest thing will make her shed a few tears. To put it simply, Jiae is one hormonal girl when she is on her period. When Jiae is mad, she would usually stay very quiet and would hardly address anyone. It's also one of her flaws; she forgives but does not forget.

One thing that never changed about Jiae is her clumsiness. Jiae is 'clumsy' personified hence the reason as to why she got the nickname Ddil-Jiae. She can trip over air easily and she always get in trouble whenever she dances because she makes mistakes easily. She is somewhat accident-prone but not to the point of it being really dangerous for her. Jiae usually laughs it off because to her, it's rather funny.

To sum it all up, Jiae is a jewel that shines the brightest due to her constant diligence and her unwavering goal to constantly improve not only for herself but for her friends and families.

Background / History*:

Jiae was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, Northern England. Her parents were permanent diplomats in the Korean Embassy. Even as a little girl, Jiae's parents always tried to make sure that Jiae at least know where she came from but as a little girl, Jiae caused a lot of fist-clenching for her parents, especially since she never particularly liked eating the food that her parents eat (e.g. kimchi, bulgoggi, etc) and would often distance herself from her true 'heritage'. Seeing as she was the only child, her parents decided to let her be though Jiae was not by any means spoiled because of it.

Ever since she was a little girl, Jiae was always told to work for what she wanted and to chase after her dreams. When she was six, Jiae started playing the violin and the keyboard. She would often join a lot of competitions and due to that, she began to develop a slight tendency to be a perfectionist and developed a competitive streak.

Jiae started giving K-POP a chance when she first heard of BoA's song, "Valenti" in the year 2003 but at that time, she still felt that it was inane. Despite that, her parents would always bring her over to the embassy whenever there are events and performances just so they could instill something inside Jiae as they were afraid that she was going to be too anglicized. At the age of fourteen, Jiae immediately fell in love with BoA's songs. She started practicing her singing as well as her dancing but Jiae was hopeless in dancing: she had two left feet. Her parents were somewhat supportive when they found out that Jiae started liking her culture even more and would often be seen singing along to BoA's songs everywhere she goes. When she first told her parents that she was going to try and audition for SM in Korea, they were totally against it - seeing as she was still really young (14 years old!) but Jiae merely worked her magic on her parents and after a few days of not talking to her parents and sulking in her room, her parents finally let her go to Korea and audition.

Reason for rivalry: They became rivals because once, being the opinionated girl that Jiae is, said that Suzy seems like the type of person that does not own up to her mistakes and one that cannot cook to save her life (or her team's, for the matter). Due to her poor Korean, people misunderstood her and it reached the ears of Suzy, who thought that Jiae was being too much for someone who is a 'rookie' in the industry. Whenever Jiae tries to explain that it was all a misunderstanding, Suzy would always blow her off and after trying for like 123456789 times, Jiae just gave up and lost all respect for Suzy.

How do you two act around each other?: These two, when together, make a rather interesting couple. They can be awkward in a second but be really close to each other by the next second. Together, they are a rather 'quiet' couple. Since Jiae's Korean isn't really that well, Luhan will always help her with it. "Actions speak louder than words" - this is the two of them. Perhaps, because of the fact that they are 'close', they are quite in tune with each other's moods and can easily tell what the other is feeling (somewhat). Due to that as well, holding hands and hugging is considered as a norm for the both of them. Luhan likes listening to Jiae speak in Korean because he finds the way she would speak the words really adorable.

Personality: Luhan is a really nice person. He is brotherly and is very close with the rest of EXO. He loves teasing s and playing around with them. He likes making people smile and laugh. He is also the type of person that says 'sorry' to others even when he is being wronged. But when he is on stage, all trace of playfulness disappears and is replaced with charisma.

If so, how?: Seeing as they do not have the same schedule and also because Exo-M are rarely in Korea, they will always try to make sure that they send each other texts before they go to sleep and after they have woken up. When they have free time, they would often try to call each other but that rarely happens since Jiae still cannot speak Korean fluently.

Scene requests: Seeing as Luhan has always helped her, Jiae decided to learn a few words in Chinese, not knowing that some of her friends were tricking her to say 'Luhan, I like you, you are cute. Thank you.' So she confidently says that to Luhan once Exo-M got back from China. That caused Luhan to blush furiously and the rest of Exo-M to laugh when Jiae tilted her head and asked what was wrong and if her Chinese was not correct.

How do you two act around each other?: Jiae is slightly comfortable with Kris, mainly because Kris can understand English. Though, these two put together makes people laugh. Jiae's Bradford accent is too thick at times and Kris likes using slangs that make Jiae confused but they like teasing each other. These two act like a real couple but when you ask the two of them, they will deny it.

Personality: Kris is very caring towards s. People often think that he's cold or cocky but he's actually quite the opposite. He is very close with his fellow members and is a rather attentive person. He oozes with charisma and there's just something about Kris that makes you attracted to him.

If so, how?: via phone; Kris will always text her no matter where he is and sometimes, the things that they text each other seems flirty when someone reads it but to the both of them, it's just normal. Sometimes, Kris would send her selcas of him and the members and whatever he was doing at that time and in return Jiae would send pictures to Kris as well.

Scene requests: One time, after practice, Jiae decided to go and visit Kris since he was in the company for a while. While waiting for Kris, Jiae made small talks with Exo-K members and soon after, Jiae falls asleep on someone's shoulder. When Kris' practice had ended and he saw what Jiae was doing, he immediately felt jealous. So he sits beside her and subtly made Jiae shift so her head was against his shoulder instead of that other person's. So much for being subtle because Exo-M teased their leader mercilessly afterwards.
