This is Herman, my cat. He lives with my grandparents, I used to live with him and them about 6 years ago. I spent 5 years with him. I love Herman, he is my baby boy and always will be.

I found out yesterday from my mom, who heard from my grandma, that he was in a fight almost a week ago. He has a gash in leg, under the joint that connects to his leg, basically his armpit. My mom told me that is wasn’t getting any better.

Tomorrow he is going in for surgery. The vet told my grandma that if they can’t fix the gash, they will have to take his leg. My poor baby. He is an outdoor cat, he won’t be able to survive.

I love him so much, my mom also said if they couldn’t fix it in anyway that they would have to put him down.

I don’t want that to happen. Ever. I lost a cat a while back, she was a Katrina survivor…9 weeks old. Our dog, later put down…had snapped her neck. I can’t love another cat.

I love Herman so much. When I was in school and rode the bus home, he was always waiting at the mailbox for me and would walk to the house with me. He would wait for the bus with me in the mornings. He loved on me when I came home one time because I was sick on the bus, I couldn’t make it down the hill, so I laid in the grass, he sat with me and loved on my face, purring. He would sleep with me and in the mornings after his outside run, he would come and wake me up by rubbing his face against mine, I still remember him smelling like dirt(he loved to roll in it).

I can’t lose him. Please. I love him.
