nakyum's fashionable when he wants to be, but in terms of everyday outfits, he often wears jeans and slacks that's always paired with either sneakers or branded rubber shoes (like nike or addidas). he loves denim jackets as well, so he's often wearing that during autumn and winter (sometimes coats if it's too cold).
in terms of color palette, he doesn't have a preference really. he knows he looks good in every color of the rainbow (and outside the rainbow) so he just wears anything as long as the whole outfit merges together beautifully.

growing up with 3 older sisters in tow, in a sense that certain feminine behavior and personality was reflected and absorbed through him as well. he got his confidence from them, as well as the confidence his parents have, so it's quite rare for nakyum to actually not feel assertive of himself. whether it's his looks, his intelligence, the money he has (emphasis on the money he has; not his parents', his), he's confident and assured about it. although he's not the type to flaunt something unless needed since it takes too much energy to do so.
in terms of friends though, he's loyal by default. he doesn't question them if they needed his help (since he trusts them); but does otherwise if it's something as serious as borrowing his money since he's aware that his friends are more than capable to earn like he does (regardless of their status). he knows what it's like to be alone and has no one to rely on, so as much as possible, he tries to be there as best as he can; of course to the best of his abilities since he's just one 21 year old young man with limited things on his grasp.
he doesn't like backstabbing either, prefers to be honest with the person rather than talking about them with others. he thinks that he doesn't deserve to stoop that low anyway. as a victim of poor first impressions, he doesn't judge a person based on that. he just watches them from the sidelines to catch a glimpse of who they are, or talk to them if he feels like doing so, before putting his trust. with the money he and his family has, he knew that a lot may try to take advantage of it.
everyone knows this, but he's a very emotional person. he hates crying, he felt like he's weak when he does, but it's probably his ty noonas' faults for carrying on the crybaby title down to their youngest sibling. he can't control those damn tear ducts to close so no matter how hard he tries, the dam just stays open. it kinda adds to how sincere nakyum is, since he's not good at acting (nor lying); so whatever emotion he feels are all genuine—which is why his friends trusts him more.
he's not a waster either, which is one of the things his friends like about him the most. he know what it feels like to be hungry, he knows what it feels like to be poor, so he makes sure that he doesn't waste anything he spent his money on.

nakyum has certain tendencies to switch priorities between friends and luxuries or money, which is often a bad thing if someone from a third point of view sees that. he'll end up panicking more on his cracked iphone rather than the safety of his friend's thankfully not dislocated shoulder because they ended up falling down the stairs together for some unknown reason. most times that attitude happens because he trusts that his friends are either fine with it or are okay and safe (accidents-related).
he's also naively easy to convince if it's anything about money, which is why the others try to slap some sense to him just because it's fishy. they know how easy nakyum can be persuaded if they just mention a certain value of green papers. and speaking of the bucks, nakyum can be unexpectedly greedy at times. of course, it comes from his sad background that he ends up becoming one, but he also knows when to stop if it's necessary (like how he ends up giving some of his earned money to the poor because they couldn't buy anything to eat).
he doesn't hesitate to argue with someone if he knows they're in the wrong, but that doesn't mean he's going to play nice about it. nakyum's known to have such an unfiltered mouth that some freshies find so intimidating, but it's really because he couldn't emphasize things unless he does it. regardless of showering a string of curses or rude comebacks, stop signs wouldn't even work on him that way. other than his unfiltered mouth, he brings out the sass his sisters often give him whenever he argues with them. if anything, nakyum knows how to sass more than most girls in the university.
he is however, surprisingly, a flirty guy. every pretty girl he sees, he would undoubtedly become so undeceivingly kind and such a pushover for them. you could literally see heart-eyes whenever he catches even a short glimpse of a girl. he uses his money and looks to his advantage, and doesn't stop flirting even if he's rejected numerous times. if one doesn't like him, he'll immediately go to the next. juno calls it girl-hopping. most times girls reject him for being pushy, whilst others he dated but ends up breaking up after a month or two because he's too much.
kim nakyum was born in san diego, california, with wealth that no average person can imagine.
no, he wants to correct that. his parents are rich, and it just so happened that he was borned in the family as if it's a blessing from the heavens above. his dad, kim jinsung (present: 55), is a famous lawyer working under a well-known firm whilst his mother, kim naeyon (present: 55), is a successful businesswoman that owns hotel chains around the whole united states. despite their wealth, he grew up seeing them as the most humble people alive, not the type to flaunt what they have.
his three older sisters, yeonhee (present: 31), jisoo (present: 29), and jiyeon (present: 27), are baddass in a good way. they're not spoiled, none of them are, and are using their money for something good. yeonhee just graduated med school as a cardiologist and works at the hospital where ophelia's parents are. she's the type who's willing to go on medical missions because she wants to, not because she has to and would not charge her patients when it comes to check-ups and consultations unless she knows her patients are more than capable of paying. jisoo is being supervised by her mother since she's going to be the heir to their mother's hotel chains so she's studying the ropes of business and leadership. jiyeon on the other hand is now working as a lawyer for an another firm where their dad's not in (because she doesn't like to receive special treatment just because she's their father's daughter.
to say the least, his sisters are very well successful. their parents taught them well, making sure they're not spoiled and knows how important money is which is why even without their parents saying any more than the value of money, all four of them are saving their own for their own future. as much as possible would not ask for so much money from their parents unless it's the tuition fee they're talking about. his family is unique that way, which is why they're often looked up upon by many wealthy families knowing that nakyum's parents came from below average to average famllies that could almost barely pay their education.
growing up, nakyum somewhat inherited some of his sister's habits and traits, such as their confidence, sass, and feminine behavior. despite being raised as a humble son that everyone would've exepected that he would have decent friends, the latter behavior became an issue at highschool, that feminine side of him.
at that time, he was not in his confident nor sassy self when it comes to interacting with others, so he was a victim of bullying back then. terms that were meant to be respected but ends up disgusted were thrown at him, and while he endured that, his sisters didn't. he guessed that that was the time they unconciously taught him to not give a about what people think, and just be confident and true to himself.
in which, he did, and slowly the bullying stopped and he's gradually living the normal life again.
moving on to college, his parent's teachings are the reason why he chose to take in a major that can somewhat have him surround himself with those green sheets of paper, make use of the math skills he has and the way he knows how gravely important money is.
he also doesn't like to rely on his parents much when it comes to money despite knowing they're willing to give him any amount he needed, which is why he offered his knowledge and skills related to his major to his mother, making her treat it as his part-time job. he works under the financial department of his mother's hotel branch at the san francisco since it's closer to ucsf and his apartment, and he prefered to be treated as if he's not the son of the ceo.

ultimately, nakyum lived a semi-hectic college life. one look at his schedule, many would see that he has a lot of vacants, however the workload of each course he takes weighs almost the same to others who have 5 courses a day and ends at 7 in the evening. though, he often says that every major is hard.
he often does his extracurricular activities depending on the club. for the school paper, they often meet on fridays but in terms of the work, he does it in his free time or sometimes juggle with his academics if he has to. same applies when he's also working in the student council as the auditor.
during his free time, he either watches anime or hangs out with his friends. sometimes shopping if he felt like it. there are also moments that he prefers to advance study his lessons before his classes just so he doesn't have to study right after class (also because he loves to recite, it adds extra points). he also goes back to san diego during weekends if he absolutely has no schedule planned during those days. as much as possible, he wants to visit his family every week.

LEO PARK, 22 he can't remember when he first met leo, nor he remembered how they got close in the first place. it's probably a small money thing that brought them together, but nakyum, by no means, treat him like how he treats his seniors. usually you'll see the two either bicker or hit each other because they can't come to an agreement together.
sometimes leo does stupid things and nakyum's the one hitting him for doing so. he especially hates it when he's the one who has to drive him back to leo's dorm using leo's car just because he ends up calling him every single time ("don't you have thousands of people in your contacts? why ME????")
nonetheless, he finds leo refreshing in a sense that he knows he's not the type to actually be fake, nor one of the people taking advantage of his and his family's wealth (not that nakyum would be worried if it is the case, he has ways to make sure they won't do it). knowing leo's friendliness, he constantly reminds him to now be friendly with everyone, even if he knows it's not the friendly-friendly kind.

JUNO LIM, 22 unlike leo, he remembers his first encounter with juno simply because she's one of the prettiest girls he's ever met (it's also through leo that nakyum met juno). he vividly remembered him calling her "juno-swan!!" with that japanese honorific (swan rather than san) until it's just juno when they became closer together as friends. it was a few flirtations to her then, but he stopped when juno pointedly told him to give up, and who was he to deny such goddess?
nakyum's one of the few people who are the least bit intimidated by juno's presence. her resting- face does nothing to him, and would not be bothered if she argued with him. in fact, he would gladly bring out the sass if he has and wants to, he finds his arguments with juno rather amusing and enjoyable to the point that that's what they almost do often (not as much as he is to leo though).
he doesn't ask for free drinks from juno though, and she's not one to force him if he doesn't want to. but sometimes, she does make comments about "don't act like a saint, kid" and nakyum would just roll his eyes and hand her the bill. it's one of those banters the others would witness with them.
also, did i mentioned that juno really does act like a rebellious daughter whenever nakyum greets her and the rest of their friends?

OPHELIA RHED, 21 both san diego babies, has absolute love for food and anime, many would think that he and ophelia are like bestfriends.
and they are absolutely right.
though nakyum thinks it's more of like childhood friends and sibling-like relationship than just bestfriends since they did met in highschool due to a small "gathering" where his and her parents met. at some point, nakyum's dad ended up representing ophelia's dad, so they became closer that way. they end up hanging out even outside of school, watching anime together and eating snacks.
whilst the others do scold him for being flirty, ophelia's picking the physical scolding for it. she does not hold back her punches even for a slight moment she saw nakyum's reveals his heart-eyes.

HAVEN GO, 22 nobody would've ever guessed that nakyum's actually younger than haven by a year just from looking at their dynamics together. it's most likely because of how precious and delicate haven is that makes him be overly slightly more protective over her than most of his friends within the group.
of course during their first meeting nakyum flirted with her (it's like the most natural thing he does), and it took less times than usual before he stopped pursuing her and instead treats her like a close friend and a sister. haven has that kind of power on him wherein he just melts for her and would literally fly to the moon and back if she asked him to do so.
