personality

"I LOVE YOU."
(+) CHARISMATIC, persuasive, ALLURING, rational, eloquent

"...JUST KIDDING."
(-) TWO-FACED, manipulative, apathetic, calculative, lazy.

[inspired by shama's kalmia and loosely yttd's sou hiyori]
hyerin has two sides. one is the side she shows in front of the camera. she's adopted the persona, "sweet, kind, and seductive". she giggles when needed, and smiles when looked at. her words have an effect on people. her aura just commands others to listen to her, and do as she says. men and women alike are attracted to her, and would do anything for her favor.
and hyerin takes advantage of the fact that she's the ultimate actress. while in front of the public, she's polite and generous. she donates her money to charities, and her co-stars only have good things to say about her work and her work ethic. she helps her friends, and every director wants to work with her because she's so easy to work with. she has no flaw--she's perfect. and then, once the public eye is off her and she's by herself, she throws herself onto her bed and curses up a storm.
who would've thought the silver tongued jung hyerin could say such dirty words? in fact, hyerin could care less about anything--even herself. in her daily life, she's acting out a role she adopted as her persona--the "perfect girl". her true self is sitting with her legs spread lazily with a bag of chips in her hands, and watching random shows aimlessly. she easily uses her ultimate ability to change her true self.

but what is hyerin's true self? she's smart enough to know who to manipulate into her favor. with just one smile, she can seduce people into doing things for her. and despite all the fame, shes not arrogant or cocky. in fact, she knows her limits and knows what roles she can nail and which she can't. everything she does, she does while calculating the pros and the cons. if something has too many cons, she avoids it entirely. to jung hyerin, life is a film. a drama--a tragedy. if she can act out any role, she can perfect it.

background
hyerin first discovered acting when she was in elementary school and was chosen as the lead actress of their class play of little red riding hood. unlike everyone else's childish acting, hyerin's was real. by the end of the play, everyone in the auditorium had stood up and applauded for her. because she had shed real tears when she thought her grandmother had been eaten, and screamed in true fear when the "wolf" appeared from no where. it was then that her parents decided that their five year old must have a talent in acting.

so they sent her off to auditions to see what would happen. the directors and producers were blown away by her talent, and she was quickly scouted and recruited to an agency. she was only six when her first film came out. it was a tragedy, and needless to say, everyone in theaters were crying along with the little girl on the screen by the time the film ended.

hyerin was revered as a prodigy. the amount of roles she got only increased, and by sixteen, she had won so many awards, her shelves couldn't handle it all. eventually, hyerin could no longer seperate acting for a recording and real life, because she had started acting for real life as well. the public liked a well mannered girl, so that's what she was. then, as she grew older, she matured into a girl crush of everyone's dreams, and gradually changed her persona to fit that image as well. every boy her age had her as a crush, and even adults thought she was too cute, wishing for a younger sister or a daughter like her. girls all throughout the country and eventually the world looked up to her as their idol.

eventually, hyerin's true self (the lazy self) only came out when she was alone with her manager, or when she was by herself. in the end, hyerin can't ever stop acting, because she had made it her life. but still, even now, as she's acting in her daily life, she can't find anything she particularly likes. she's played every role possible--the jealous girlfriend, the sweet love interest, the psychotic serial killer, the sobbing best friend--everything. but still, nobody's acting seemed real enough to excite or challenge her. she can, at this point, predict someone's ability to act and lie based off their expression, and she knows who she will be able to be co-stars with just by their first meeting.

all hyerin wishes for is someone, or something that can challenge her.
trivia
🌹 hyerin can also be known as the ultimate liar, because of how easily she can act and switch "roles".
🌹 hyerin is 165cm or 5'5" tall.
🌹 she can't be bothered to care about anything because she sees everything she does as acting. as a result, she very rarely gets invested in anything or others. basically, she has no real friends.
🌹 hyerin smokes when no one's looking. also, stress drinks when no one's looking too.
🌹 hyerin lives on her own with the money she's made from acting. she's lived on her own since she was 16. it gives her more time to be her true lazy self.
🌹 she's dated a co-star before, for acting experience. so could she really call it a relationship? probably not, since she wasn't even honest with him either.
🌹 she carries a lighter and a pack of cigarettes with her just in case she really needs a smoke break. if anyone catches it, she claims its her manager's.
🌹 unsurprisingly (or surprisingly), hyerin dislikes social interaction. she also dislikes people who talk for too long.
🌹 hyerin's ideal day is sitting at home with a bowl of chips, beer, and a pack of cigarettes while playing video games.
🌹 while hyerin can play many roles, she's typically casted in romance movies. which she dislikes.
🌹 in an interview, she's stated she's probably more like the romantic villain that the main girl has to go against for the main guy than the actual main girl. still, because of her popularity, she's usually casted as the main girl.
🌹 curses a lot when she's her real self. even has quite expressive curses like, "are you serious? you must be ing my . eat my , ." and it's always said with a straight face.
🌹 hyerin, when not acting, usually has a very blank expression, and is very bad at showing her real emotions (since she usually doesn't really feel anything for others).
🌹 TBD.
key information
true self
hyerin doesn't...quite care for herself and her own life enough to play into this game. sure, she'll go along with others, but she'll rarely speak up. still, when she does, it means she has a very strong opinion that she won't let go by. after all, hyerin believes life is a film. but in the end, when she watches someone die in front of her, she realizes this is no longer a drama she's acting in--this is real. it's the first reality check she's ever experienced since she first started acting when she was five, and hyerin, suddenly, fears death. she's scared of losing her life, and she's scared of watching other people die. no matter what, she wants to get out of here with the least amount of deaths as possible. so with each game that passes by, hyerin speaks up more and more, determined for the first time in her life to use her logic to get everyone out of this hell.

ROLE
mastermind: 2. on the small chance that she is the mastermind, it'd be because she wanted to stage a film that she could act in where she could finally act on par with others...because the others wouldn't be acting. they'd be truly fearful of their lives. hyerin would want to be able to make a film that she'd be passionate about participating in, and the only way to do that is to make it real.
accomplice: 1. hyerin's only reason to be an accomplice would be if she was blackmailed with her true profane self being leaked to the public if she didn't cooperate. otherwise, she would be too apathetic to cooperate with someone else's plan.
survivor: 3

the game
THE IDEAL ONE
hyerin is straight. there's nothing in particular that hyerin is attracted to, but it'd have to be someone that actually caught her interest. which means, if you can lie well enough for her, then she'd be interested. to her, life is a neverending movie, so she'd need someone who could drag her out of that mentality and remind her she's living in real life. or someone that can tell that her acting isn't her true self.

interactions
hyerin wouldn't act out a relationship unless it was being recorded since it doesn't go along with her current persona. so unless she's the mastermind trying to add more drama to the game, then whatever relationship she got into during the killing game would be semi-real.

love interest
 comments
let me know if this is okay! i finished this pretty fast fhjskfsk i was too excited lol. i kinda wanted to based hyerin's motivation and love interest off of how like, sou wanted kanna to live and survive even if it meant he died. idk if that conveyed itself but hopefully it does now ;;

scene suggestions
🌹 you know how the first scene in yttd is russian roulette? yeah i loved that, and i'd love to see it here too :')
🌹 a spa/hot spring scene would be fun. something lighthearted and funny during the killing game to lighten up the mood bc in the end even though they're all dying...i want them to be friends :(
🌹 eventually, i'm sure all the other ultimates would discover hyerin's true self and just be like...oh. i see. and hyerin would just stop acting altogether and be her true lazy self in front of everyone :)
password
friendship would probably be her only motivation. because she doesn't want to see her friends die...if she ends up seeing them as her friends.
final thoughts
indubutably
