In the game, Anastasia avoids Roseline at all costs. She doesn't want to get involved in her drama, even if she hears about it from other noble ladies.

But recently, Roséline has been acting differently. Some of her actions even make her giggle (which would normally get her scolded by her mother, because a noble lady should not expose her emotions so openly). So to say the least, Anna is intrigued by Roseline at the moment. Which means she is not avoiding her, which is straying from the original plot of the game. The path of the second prince and the first prince are intertwining because of it without Anna knowing, and she's about to be in a hell of a ride if the two decide to become real friends. Anna, quietly to herself, sort of hopes they do.

If they do become friends after Roséline's sudden character change, Anna would be the protective type of friend--and would go totally mother hen on her. She'd try and "shield her" from any of the noble's gossip, and noble ladies' sharp words. Since Roséline would be her only real friend besides her family, Anna would care deeply for her.

Being the heir to the Gautier dukedom, Ashton grew up learning their family's values the most. Which also means, he inherited the saying "family above all" from their father, and puts his family above everything. Simply put, he has a sister complex.

Ashton is the brother who's the jack of all trades. He's quickwitted, and he's quick to learn things as well--the perfect heir. His only flaw is his neverending love for his siblings. He's the one they all run to whenever they want something, and he spoils them rotten. Growing up, Anastasia would hurry to her brother if she ever desperately wanted something. If he could, he would give her the world. Even when she's at the academy, he tells Caden and Lucas to make sure no trouble comes her way.

In a way, Anastasia grew up used to being protected, especially by her eldest brother. Ashton is three years older than her, and he always feels responsible for all their siblings actions. As a result, Caden usually calls him "Father 2.0".

While Ashton is good at everything, Caden is exceptionally good at the sword. All three of her brothers trained under their father since they could walk, but Caden must've inherited their father's talent the most. Which, from the beginning, deemed Caden as a prodigy, and caused him to not try in anything.

The only one who can ever force him into anything is his younger sister, Anastasia.

"Anna, I don't want to."

"Big brother Caden, if you want to be able to protect the family, don't you have to get stronger still?"

She has a way with words that would persuade Caden into doing anything. Plus, it's coming from his beloved baby sister. While he's less protective than Ashton, if anything hurt her, he definitely wouldn't let it go. Caden always speaks honestly from his heart, and has a lot of friends--both noble and commoner--because of it. Anastasia and Caden attend the academy together, since he is only a year older than her. Though they have different friend circles, the three siblings that attend the academy together always make time to eat together.

"Family above all" is one of the biggest values their parents instilled in them, after all.

"Mother, do brother and them drink a different type of water than I do?"

"No sweetie, why?"

"Then can you explain why Lucas looks like that?"

Her mother then blamed her younger brother's puberty on the Gautier genes (that Anastasia apparently did not inherit, because why the hell didn't she grow to be as tall as her brothers). 

Lucas is the baby of the family that Anastasia was excited to spoil from the moment her mother told her she had to take care of her younger brother as the elder sister (even though hes only a year younger). So since they were children, Lucas had a tendency to stay glued to Anastasia's side. While she was taking etiquette lessons, Lucas would sit outside with a book in his hands. Like his eldest brother, he absorbs information very quickly and, while not the best out of their brothers in wielding a sword, he's very strategic and quick witted.

Lucas is the walking definition of a sister complex. He loves Anastasia the most (or at least he claims to) and more than anyone else in the world, and she's the only one who can make him smile. Because of his spoiled nature (since his older sister did spoil him--she couldn't help it) he throws tantrums if he doesn't get what he wants, and it only stops when his family is strict with him.

Even now, he does everything he can to stick to his sister's side, even though it's nearly impossible when they have different classes, but he runs to her whenever they have free time.

Anastasia has to do everything she can to pry him off of her and force him to attend sword lessons with their brothers.

Anastasia doesn't dislike her because she's a commoner, or because she's pretty, or whatever reason some other people at the academy may dislike her. Anastasia despises the protagonist because she came for her man.

Simply put, if the protagonist doesn't go down the second prince's route, she won't even encounter Anastasia. But if she does, then Anastasia does everything possible to take her jealousy out on the protagonist--because she receives Julian's love, and Anna doesn't.

Anastasia's jealousy is petty, and the only reason she wants to take "revenge" all the time is because the second prince won't accept her pure feelings. Simply put, Anastasia is a petty bully in the Julian's route. She pours water on the protagonist, scorns her from social events and forbids her from entering, and turns all noble ladies away from her to make sure she has no chance of making friends with anyone of high status.

It gets to the point where Julian discovers his loved one is being bullied, and well...Anastasia's fate is less than pretty. If she's lucky, depending on the player's choice, she's banished. If not, then she's executed. No matter what, in the end, she never receives the second prince's love.

In all honesty, Anastasia could care less about the crown prince. Yeah sure, he's handsome and smart, whatever. But he's not her fiancé and the love of her life. In fact, if she feels anything for him, it's probably dislike and anger for making her beloved feel belittled and incompetent.

In the game, they have very little interaction and very rarely do they even mention each other, despite the crown prince always being the hot gossip topic for ladies of her age. Usually, Anastasia just ignores topics involving him and just treats him like any other royal.

Besides, who knows what's going on under that pretty face of his? She'd rather not get involved.

His Highness the Prince Julian Gudmund Emmanúel Goldscheider. Anastasia memorized that name and title as her future fiancé two days before his arrival to her father's dukedom. And then, she memorized it as name of the love of her life soon after their meeting. It wasn't anything special. In fact, he didn't seem very much interested in her at all. But Anastasia felt differently. She very firmly believed that Prince Julian was her soulmate, and she needed to live up to his expectations. There was something about the childish gleam in his eyes that was so not royal that drew her to him. He was different, and she fell for that. But his uniqueness as a royal would be what caused him to be looked at as an incompetent second prince.

Still, everything Anna does is for him. She became the "perfect noble lady" for him, so she could become worthy of standing by his side. She shunned people who gossiped about him from high society with her power. If Julian said "jump", Anastasia would say "how high?". But, the prince never requested anything from her. Because honestly, he could care less about her.

She never outwardly expressed her affection for him in front of him--but it was still obvious how much she cared. During their forced monthly meetings, she always talked the most--very out of character for the typically coolheaded Gautier. In front of him, she always becomes a shy teenager. Anna constantly wondered if she'll ever see that genuine little boy she met when she was a young girl again.

When that commoner girl he was close friends with died, Anna saw the small changes in the prince. And she'd sit across from him during their forced meetings, stirring her tea in awkward silence as he became colder and colder to her with each meeting. He was polite--painfully so--but Anna knew it was all an act. Still, she smiled, and never pried, because it wasn't her business to ask the royal how he was feeling. The one time she did, as a younger and more naive little girl, he'd answered with a clipped, "I'm fine", and she never asked again after that. So why was Anna so surprised that he could never confide in her, no matter how many times she'd insisted she'd stand by his side? 

"Your Highness," Anastasia is famously quoted crying in her banishment scene, "I knew you could never love me, but I had hoped--I had hoped you could trust me after everything."

And Julian had coldly responded with--"take her away from my sights".

Everything she did--everything she does is for Julian. Even if it meant throwing away her status as a noble woman, and tarnishing her own reputation, she would've done anything for him. He's her first, and last love, after all.

In the end, after Roséline's change, if Anna becomes close friends with the other villainess, the Gautier lady's fate changes. No matter who Julian chooses to give his heart to--whether it be the loveable Roséline, Lissy Hallewall, or the innocent protagonist, Anastasia will smile through it all and let him go, even though it breaks her heart into irreparable pieces. Because through Roséline, Anna learns of selfless love. And she learns that even if he loves another, she'd never be able to love anyone else the same. Call it obsession, or insanity, but Anastasia will always love Julian. It's her unfortunate fate as a villainess that is rooted deep in her heart--something she'd never be able to escape. All she can hope, is that he'd consider her a close enough friend for her to be able to shyly call him by his nickname once in a while. Since, in the present, Anna will never be able to call him anything except for his title, as it is a boundary he will never allow her to cross.
