«  MA BYUNGHEE  »
GENERAL.

BIRTH NAME. Ma Byunghee

NICKNAMES.

GHOST BOY

People call him this nickname mostly because he reminds them of Toshio from Ju-on. This nickname was coined by Cho Jongsuk and then picked up by the other teachers and students who like the teacher. He hates it when people call him this, but there is an exception. When Jongsuk calls him this nickname, Byunghee can't stop a small, almost invisible smile from forming on his lips.

-KISSER

This is the nickname most of the student body uses to refer to him. They don't like him and consider him to be a stuck up teacher's pet.

APPEARANCE.
Byunghee has a list of somewhat comical characteristics. He has pale, almost paper colored skin with prominent dark eye circles; Jet black hair always kept short with matching color eyes; Plump lips that are always almost purple from lack of heat and sleep; Big hands with long and bony fingers and nails always neatly cut to the nail bed. His body is covered in countless scars and forearms are covered in injection marks. His most noticeable scar is a horizontal line on the left side of his neck. His body is athletic, all lean muscles and barely any -definitely not enough - subcutaneous fat.

HEIGHT. 184cm

WEIGHT. 62kg

STYLE / FASHION.
Byunghee wears his uniforms messily, never caring if his dress shirt is well ironed or if his tie is fastened correctly. On weekends and school holidays, his outfits consist of loose-fitting and dark-colored clothes. The only time he wears short sleeves and shorts is well into summer, because he is always cold if it's not summer.

DARKNESS IS JUST LIGHT TURNED INSIDE OUT.
I AM WHO I AM.

PERSONALITY.
INTJ :: Slytherin :: True Neutral :: Walter White, Petyr Baelish, Moriarty;

Quick; Imaginative; Strategic; Witty; Self-confident; Self-critical; Independent; Decisive; Hard-working; Open-minded; Opinionated; Argumentative; Sometimes arrogant, but mostly has a very low self esteem; Judgmental; Private; Withdrawn; Clueless with social cues that are not related to survival;

Byunghee has never been the type to mingle, socialize and fit in with the crowd. He has never liked interacting with people and people have never liked interacting with him. He fails to connect with people and understand the human condition. Most people assume he's a stuck up bookworm that spends most of his time trying to impress and up to teachers. Byunghee is indeed what people would label as a bookworm, but everything else he considers to be false. He's a boy who possesses an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and because of this he has learned things his peers would not bother to or think of learning. He spends most of his days with his nose buried in a book, that coupled with his aversion to other people makes him very withdrawn and private. Most teachers like him because he has a nearly perfect GPA and makes no problems for them if unprovoked, but his isolation also worries them.

Byunghee has an imaginative mind that refuses to fit any mold or be boxed in by rules designed to restrict and oppress. He's highly analytical, logical, and reasonable and regards laziness with disdain. He can easily be mislabeled a perfectionist because he believes that if one wants something to be done right he should do it himself. While some people may dub his standards too high and ridiculous, he expects the most from himself. This is in a sense a way for him to compensate for his lack of self-esteem. Most of the time he believes that he deserves all the worst, so he thrives to meet unreasonably high standards in things he believes he can achieve with hard work.

Because of his upbringing, Byunghee struggles with morality and empathy. His lack of empathy is not a front to hide his weakness from the eyes of enemies, but truly a trait he thinks he has no hope of changing. He struggles to understand why he has to hold back both in debates and physical fights just to spare his opponent's feelings and health. Despite his general lack of a moral compass and empathy, he's usually the only student with a red code who would interfere when he sees students with a green or yellow code being discriminated against. "this behavior is disgusting" he'll reply whenever asked why he would bother to go out of his way and help the 'weak', relaying that he does not really care for their fate, but he is rather disgusted by the ones who dub themselves as 'strong'.  There is also the fact that he loathes people who abuse their power and use authority as an excuse to wreak havoc, especially if it affects Byunghee himself.

All in all, Byunghee is a silent figure in the academy who has the power to turn the dynamics and hierarchy of the academy upside down, but would not be bothered to act if it does not affect him directly.

BACKGROUND.
TW- mentions of death, suicidal thoughts and a suicide attempt

Byunghee was born in a small village outside of Joam-ri to a woman whose body was already riddled with cancer and to a man whose identity remains unknown. After Byunghee's birth, his mother only lived for three months before her ovarian cancer finally ended her life. The little boy was left to the woman's mother and she cared for the boy deeply, but life was not easy for them. As years went on, Byunghee's grandmother became weaker because of her old age and could not tend to the small farm they had as their only means of income. Byunghee did his best to help out, but at the age of 7 there was not much he could do. Because of their circumstances, Byunghee did not have much time to befriend the other kids in the village. They all traveled to Joam-ri to attend school , but while the other kids stayed after school to study and play together, Byunghee headed straight back home on his mother's old bicycle.

Being a social recluse - even if by choice - has consequences and kids are cruel in their ignorant ways, so the longer Byunghee kept his distance from his peers the worse they treated him. By the time he was seven, his classmates had escalated from teasing and taunting to outright bullying. One day a group of boys from his class intercepted Byunghee when he was on his way home and started a fight with him. In the altercation one of them pushed him off a cliff. Byunghee was fatally wounded and the kids ran away scared. With no one there to help him he thought for sure that he would die, but he survived. All of his wounds healed without leaving a trace. At the time he did not know what he was dealing with, so he just ignored it and went home. The next day, he was known throughout school as a freak. From then on his classmates deliberately hurt him to see if he would heal again, but unless the injuries were life threatening his healing would remain normal. Confused and angered, the kids just bullied him more and more. One of those times, byunghee finally decided to retaliate. It was not a conscious decision, he just snapped. He was already bleeding, the blood loss making him dizzy, when he lashed out. It was as if his blood had a mind of its own and was fighting to protect him. It first formed into a sharp sword and swung around forcing the other students back and then morphed into a 360 degrees shield, enveloping him entirely. It did not take long for him to lose consciousness from blood loss and he was rushed to the hospital when one of the teachers stumbled upon the after school activity teh students engaged in the backyard. From then the rumors spread outside of his classroom and the whole village refused to associate with their family because they were dubbed as 'freaks'. Unfortunately, rumors were not limited to the village, they spread to Joam-ri and then from there to the whole  Gyeonggi-do area and an illegal organization caught wind of them. One of their representatives traveled to the village and offered his grandmother a sizeable sum of money in exchange for Byunghee. At that point, Byunghee was no longer going to school and they were starving. While his grandmother was also mourning the loss of her friends and the village community that had always treated her warmly before, Byunghee had seen none of that warmth and also felt guilty for pushing a wedge between her and her friends. so Byunghee himself convinced his grandmother to take the money and he willingly went with the representative. He did not really know what he was getting himself into, but he knew that with that much money his grandmother would be able to move from their village to a nice apartment in the city and look after her health too. He did not really care what happened to him and thought that he deserved whatever the future had in store for him. He was 8 at the time so his logical reasoning was still extremely faulty.

For the next 4 years, he served as subject for experimentation and a donor for multiple black market transplantations. He completely regressed into the back of his mind, always complying with what his new owners wanted him to do, never showing the disdain he felt for the people abusing him and hacking him into multiple pieces just to see them slowly thread back together through some undiscovered properties. He also took the blame for the things other kids did when they tried to escape or wound one of the guards outside their cell. He did not know why, but he just felt compelled to do so. Those kids did not deserve to be treated like that, but he did. Despite this, and without knowing so himself, he kept an ear and eye out for an actual opportunity, even in his sleep - he never slept deeply really. So when the goverment raided their facility Byunghee was ready. When a group of the people in higher positions and a few guards tried to evacuate the more valued subjects  kids, Byunghee took his chance and made his strike. In the frenzy brought on by the raid, nobody was really paying him mind as he huddled in with other kids. He bit his lip, drawing blood - this was his only option as he was bound by a straightjacket - and attacked. His blood was fast and fluid, but also sharp as it met its opponents. The kids were scared and screaming, but he calmed them down, hoping that whoever had come for them would treat his peers well. Whatever would happen, they would probably be alright and he felt like his life's mission was over. He was thinking of ways to end his life- maybe he could force himself to bleed out before his healing kicked in - when the raiding officers found them and in a haste loaded them into a black van. From there, everything was a blur. The goverment officials somehow knew everything about him - probably the experimentation files, his mind supplied - and put him into treatment. They did some tests on him, but they were all to check that his body was healthy. They also asked him to demonstrate his ability, so they could determine how to proceed with his placement. The only thing concerning about him was his mental state. While he did everything that was asked of him, he remained unresponsive otherwise. He did not want to talk to them, he did not want to do anything and as soon as he was given a room that he could rest in, he attempted to execute his previous plan. He went into the bathroom attached to his small room. Since he had no access to sharp objects he broke the mirror with his elbow, selected an especially sharp shard and comfortably settled into the tub. He the water, waiting for it to warm up and then stuck his heel into the drain and watched as teh water pooled and rose. He ran the broken glass down his wrist and cut his skin open, dragging as much blood out as he could. He was almost passed out when his door was broken down and he was rescued. After he recovered, he was made to swear that he would never do something like that to a person with special telepathic abilities that would make him unable to break that promise. After that, his subconscious always made death the worst possible outcome for him. He was placed in Cho Jongsuk's guardianship after Ledrith's headmaster made a case for his usefulness. While Byunghee lived with Jongsuk for a year, Won Youngran was tasked with his psychological care and somehow managed to break him out of his shell.

WHEN IN ROME DO AS THE ROMANS DO.

DAILY LIFE.
Byunghee sleeps as little as possible for any human alive, therefore he has not trouble getting up at crack of dawn. The first thing he does is wash his face and brush his teeth before getting into his workout clothes and going for a run. Then he showers, goes through his elaborate morning skin care routine and gets dressed. He leaves his dorm with an hour to spare and always arrives early to class. he uses this time to read through whatever book he's reading at the time. During class, the teacher has his undivided attention. Though he never volunteers to answer a question - unless the class is dead silent and the teacher refuses to explain until someone at least delivers some kind of answer - he always answers correctly when called upon. After class, he finds a quiet place in the sun - the library when it starts to get colder, so from october to april - and either reads or draws in his sketchbook.

DORM.
Due to his particular situation, Byunghee was placed into a single room. He is simultaneously insulted and pleased by that. Former because he can't believe they think he can't control himself enough not to attack his roommates and the latter because having to deal with people even out of school hours would be too much of an inconvenience. His dorm room is unremarkable. He mainly left it as it was before, the exception being that he 'filled' the closet with his clothes and covered every hard surface with neat stacks of books.

  TRIVIA.

LIKES.

► books

► warm weather

► tea

► stimulating and upbeat music

► sweets, especially chocolate

DISLIKES.

► noise and noisy people

► ignorant and inefficient people

► prideful people who pretend to be tough to hide their weakness because they almost always end up making mistakes and ruining things for others.

HABITS.

► scratching at his forearm when he does not have something to occupy his hands.

► running his hand through his hair and clicking his tongue when he is irritated and about to go off on a creatively insulting tangent.

FEARS.

► Death is a real possibility for Byunghee that always looms over his head like the sword of Damocles. He is scared that if he makes even one mistake, one misstep, they will get rid of him. Some could argue that there exists a fate worse than death - if there is one, he has been there - but he would say that as long as you're alive, there's hope. There's nothing when you die, but maybe he would Still prefer death to some things.

TRIVIA.

Byunghee likes to run and swim and because of this he has very good stamina, endurance and breathing control.

► Byunghee has an unbeliaveably high pain tolerance even when considering his background.

► Byunghee often forgets to eat when he's occupied with his books and only considers food to be a chore. An exception to this is chocolate.

► Byunghee has formed a habit of stealing Jongsuk's clothing whenever he's allowed to visit the teacher on school holiday - which is not often. He is not even sure he can call it a habit, because it has happened only twice, but that's only because they have not permitted him to leave campus on other occasions.

► Byunghee speaks very eloquently, but that does not mean he won't drag your name with the most creative insults just as eloquently as he delivers speeches in class whenever the students have to make a presentation.

► His facial expression remains neutral , unless he is putting on a show. It does not matter what he's feeling - that is if he manages to recognize his own feelings.

► He has never really shaken off the habit of considering everyone an enemy. Even those he is closest to and considers a part of his makeshift family are not exempt from this. He knows that when the time comes they can and will betray him.

► Whenever Byunghee is annoyed his speaking tone is always condescending.

► His favorite flower is Lycoris Radiata - commonly known as red spider lily

► He literally can never get drunk. His alcohol dehydrigenase- an enzyme responsible for alvohol metablosim- levels are insanely high. And while it would be possible to drink more alcohol in theory, in practice it would never work, because his stomach does not have the capacity necessary for that big of a volume.

RELATIONS.

FRIENDS/CLASSMATES.
(include pet here)

Schoolmate|Wang Seolhyun (18) |15%
FC: Seo Soojin

Seolhyun and Byunghee don't really interact that much. They might meet at the library, sit at the table and exchange a pair of shy, quiet "hello"s, but that's it. The silence between them is oddly comfortable, as they don't ask or expect anything from each other, they are just table partners when they are both at the library. Even on days that Seolhyun can't quite control her telepathy, she has no need to worry about overbearing thoughts and unwanted information if she's with Byunghee. His thoughts are clear, sweet and always focused on what he's reading at the moment.

Schoolmate | Lee Mina (14) | 30%
FC: Jang Wonyoung

Mina is a 1st year who has somehow managed to earn a smile from Byunghee. As someon who has a strong moral compass and love for people, Mina has managed to register herself as a makeshift rolemodel in Byunghee's mind. While Bunghee never looks for her himself, he is always glad when the girl approaches him.

Classmate | Miyuki Rantaro(16) | 10%
FC: Takata Mashiho

Even though these two are classmates they never interact with each other in class. They have only talked to each other twice in the library when Miyuki came to see Seolhyun. Both times Byunghee had to remind the younger to stay quiet because they were in the library.

► Schoolmate | Son Hwayoung(16) | 15%
FC: Im Dayoung

The only exchanges these two have happen when Hwayoung is advocating against the discrimination of codes in his vicinity and the argument with the oppositions becomes too heated. Now, Byunghee does pride himself on having great focusing ability, but he can't stand it when people get between his books and him. So he usually gets up and tells them both off for being noisy and ridiculous, the opposition gets in his face and he has to remind them who he is and what horrible things he can do to them through a colorful and eloquent speech. All that, of course, without a single curse word.

PROFESSORS.

Won Youngran | 45%

If Byunghee had to choose his favorite person in the academy, he would no doubt be Youngran. Having met the woman before his start at the academy, she really helped him realize and accept what he had gone through. He still meets with her once a week and they still have a lot of his unpleasant memories and denial to get through, but when his adrenaline and survival instinct fueled mental shield fell away and she was the one who helped him get back up on his feet.

Hwang Lina | 20%

Composition is not something Byunghee would claim to be a natural at, but Lina's classes are always the ones he enjoys most. It's probably because he loves analyzing the author's intentions and thoughts put into his body of work, but also because he thinks that Lina's teaching skills are unparalleled at the academy.

ENEMIES/RIVALS.

Schoolmate | Chae Huicheol(17)
FC: Park Jihoon

Byunghee would never even pay attention to the other boy if not for the hatred Huicheol has for him. He vaguely remembers shielding Huicheol's explosion, targeted at some poor 1st year with his blood shield and sternly reprimanding him, not really knowing who he was at the time, being a 1st year himself. Since then Huicheol never misses an opportunity to humiliate Byunghee, but he never resorts to violence, but who knows what future hold for them as teh clash between the codes intensifies.

  QUOTES.

► "No one is entitled to be ignorant"

► "People must be taught how to think, not what to think"

► "One should be respected for what one has achieved, not what one was born with. therefore your desperation to be respected for having a red code power makes you look like a foolish brat with an inferiority complex. I digress, living as such an unremarkable person who can hardly be called an individual must be tough on your underdeveloped sensibilities"

► "I have no special talents, I'm just curious"

THEY ARE ABLE BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY ARE ABLE.
THE ABILITY.

ABILITY. Blood Letting

BACKUP. Replication

CODE.

THE POWER.
Byunghee's blood is what people would call special. His red blood cells have enhanced oxygen binding capacity and his blood cell turnover is extremely fast(meaning his bone marrow produces cells faster than normal, but also the lifespan of his blood cells is shorter). There are also certain qualities to his blood(yet unidentified) that make him capable of changing the physical form of his blood(turning it from liquid to solid and back) and manipulating it in other ways(e.g explosion) In addition to his bone marrow being more active than any normal human's, his other specilized cells also have the enhanced capability to rapidly divide under stress(think liver, but way faster and for all organs), which is only triggered in life threatening situations.

STRENGTHS. Byunghee is a seasoned close range combat fighter and his endurance is through the roof, making him able to last without water and food for a lot longer than a regular human(2 weeks and 100 days, respectively).

He can draw out his blood through the tiniest of cuts on his skin and make sharp weapons from it or splash his opponent with the blood and make it then explode(this works way better if he somehow gets his blood into his opponent's system).

the more anemic he is, the more pain he is in, the stronger his powers become, but this has a limit.(below)

WEAKNESSES/LIMITATIONS. Unfortunately, the properties of his blood and bone marrow don't make him invincible. He can only use his blood in combat to a certain limit. Even though he can bleed without facing consequences more than a normal human would, this has a limit. He can not use more than 60% of his circulating blood in combat. Any more than 55% puts his body into damage control and depletes him of his energy very quickly. While controlled anemia somehow makes him physically stronger, faster and tougher, extreme anemia shuts him down.  His accelerated cell division works in an opposite manner. While small wounds heal at a normal pace, if he is dealt life threatening damage it heals without a trace.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL HEALTH.
It's remarkable how speedy his mental recovery was when Byunghee was rescued. Of course one can never fully get rid of damage like that, but he makes more and more progress every day. His physical health is stagnant. He works out, but does not put much effort into bulding muslce or making himself stronger. He has a lot of surgical and small scale scars, but overall, his health is normal.

THE INTERVIEW.

Ma Byunghee, after waiting for at least half an hour in a long line of students, was finally being ushered past large, ornate doors, into a spacious room. There are navy colored, golden trimmed curtains framing massively huge windows that overlook one of Ledrith's impressive gardens.

While the room is bright with natural light, a certain unnatural glow is evident. As the large doors slam shut behind Byunghee, they quickly find themselves face to face with a masked figure seated at a mahogany desk. For some reason, Byunghee feels as if they know this person, but they can't tell for sure.

The masked figure, twirling a pen in their right hand with a small stack of papers in front of them, motions for Byunghee to take a seat. He takes the seat quietly, his expression the same as always, neutral, betraying nothing of his distaste for such occasions.

Seemingly amused, the masked figure clears their throat.

"Shall we begin?"

Byunghee still isn't quite sure why Ledrith is holding student interviews in the first place. However, seeing as there is no choice anyways, Byunghee nods.

Please introduce yourself. Your age, your likes, your dislikes. Something random? Nevertheless, be as long, or as short as you'd like. ]

► "Ma Byunghee; 16"

What is your personal opinion about Ledrith? Good, bad... Maybe you don't care at all and just want this interview to end. I won't judge you. ]

► "I don't really care"

How are your classes, your teachers, your friends, or your classmates? How do you feel about them? ]

► "They are as good as can be expected. I have no particular lasting impressions of them"

What do you wish to accomplish or do during your time at Ledrith? Anything in particular? Or is it just to survive the rest of your 'high school' career, despite it's... unorthodox. ]

► "I wish to learn as much as I can and then... and then nothing"

What do you want to accomplish or do after you graduate from Ledrith? There are many options you can take. ]

► "many options?" Byunghee deliberately lets a snicker laced with disdain escape his lips "please forgive me, I just could not help myself. None of us have any options here in this academy and my future, in particular, is bleaker than that of the other students. You and I both know that, so let's not delude ourselves just for the sake of being polite"

[ Do you mind describing your ability to me? In your own words, not just what's written here in your profile. ]

► "I think it would be better if I showed you" he replies and focuses on the file in the interviewer's hand. Not a moment later the file catches on fire. "I can do that" he adds and then he decelarates the molecules and the fire is gone. "and I can do that"

Be as honest or dishonest with me here. How much do you want to be here, at Ledrith. I assume that either way, you understand why you're here. ]

► "I don't really want to be here, but there is no better option available for me"

Now that should be all. Unless you have anything else you'd like to add, you may leave. ]

► "Goodbye"

THE LOVER.

LOVE INTEREST NAME. Cho Jongsuk

FACE CLAIM. Kim Taehyung/V

BACK UP. -

APPEARANCE.
Red hair; delicious sun kissed skin; even more delicious, plum lips; long beautiful finger that make you want to kiss them; Chae Jongsuk is gorgeous by any stardarts, but the way his presence affects Byunghee should be considered a crime.

PERSONALITY.
Having lived more than a year with Jongsuk and still remaining under his guardianship, it could be said that out of the student body he knows the teacher the best. Having said that, he does not know that much himself. It is evident that throughout the years Byunghee has leveled up to the "annoying brat the headmaster forced on me" to "the annoying brat who's now a family", but Jongsuk leaves a lot to be found out still. He's charming, stern and playful. He gives Byunghee warmth he would never give to anyone else and cares for him deeply, even though he would never come out and say it aloud. He still remains an enigma that Byunghee is enjoying unraveling one conversation at a time.

THE LOVE STORY.

LOVE STORY/RELATIONSHIP.

When they first met Byunghee was a block of ice with impenetrable walls around him that Jongsuk had to break through with force. He was not the first to get through to Byunghee, it was Youngran and Jongsuk remains eternally grateful for her patient approach and persuasion skills. Jongsuk vaguely knew what the boy had gone through, but when he saw Byunghee shirtless for the first time -months after he was put in Jongsuk's care - the man had to bite back immesureable anger and sadness. He managed not to focus on the tracks of his past abuse and treated the boy like there was nothing wrong with him, not physically not mentally.

Byunghee would be eternally grateful for the man's care for him, but before he could notice and stop it from happening, his gratitude turned into more. He truly enjoyed spending time with his guardian and soon he started to crave the older's attention. His focus on his reading material would falter just so he could think about Jongsuk and what new things he would learn about the man when they next talked. When he was around the teacher he could not stop thinking about what it would be like to hug the man, to hold his hand and never let go. Byunghee was starved of affection and he wanted it from Jongsuk, but he assumed that he knew that the man would reject him and be disgusted by the idea of them together- after all who could ever want him and especially not someone as beautiful and amazing as Jongsuk, so he held back. He kept his growing feelings to himself and repressed them. Maybe someday, when it was time for him to die - because he knew he would - he would tell the man just how grateful he is for everything the older has done for him and just how much he means to him, but for now, Byunghee remains silent and his feelings go unnoticed because he is just as hard to read as the man he is in love with.

SCENE SUGGESTIONS.

► Byunghee helps Mina understand and use her power without hurting herself.

► Byunghee unwittingly wears Jongsuk's hoodie to one of their private counseling/training sessions, having worn it so much that he had forgotten it was the teacher's. Jongsuk notices.

Hello! I'm SO sorry this is late, but I just wanted to tell you that I finally had time to look at things with a clear-not-tired head and Byunghee is accepted~ Thank you so much for your wait!

Hi, I want to thank you for being our first applicant in this revamp, and being such a huge supporter of the story, it means a lot <33

I think you’re a great writer and that Byunghee has a lot of potential ^^ but Riel and I do have a couple of issues.

The main one being is that Byunghee is over powered, if you have an extremely powerful abilty it needs to have major weaknesses on the person such as insanity, physical pain, or even the possibility of death. General tiredness, and running out of power just isn’t enough of a weakness for someone with his level of ability. There needs to be a balance, a cost.

Even if that would be the case, I would have to take a bit of convincing, because the issue is it overlaps with so many other abilities. (Creation, deconstruction, element manipulation, Cloning and even death.) This becomes an issue due to other characters. This ability could work fine if this was a story focused on one ability user, but it’s an ensemble cast, and each character no matter if they’re strong or not needs to have a unique ability that doesn’t overlap with others. It’s fine to have a multi-dimensional ability, but it can't be to the point where it's overlapping so many other abilities.

I hope you understand our concern with his ability in the context of the story we’re telling, feel free to dm us if you want to discuss this more ^^

The second issue is something I need to disclaim as being a very personal thing, and I’m sure some people disagree with me about this. And we didn’t put anything on the cheatsheet about this, so I can’t expect you to know, we even said to go wild, when in hindsight I should of put something in there about it.

I’m all for tragic backstories, but sometimes they cross the line for me, and I’m sad to say Byunghee’s does for me. abortion, suicide, bullying, abduction, , torture and some lowkey necrophilia. one or two of the things, okay, but all of them together feels like throwing the most tragic and horrific things you can into a pot and making it his backstory. I know that was most likely not your intention and I hope I’m not being too harsh. I’m aware that some people do experience multiple traumatic things, but in fiction, it can easily feel like an exploitive way to gain sympathy from readers. I’m someone who likes to write dark stories, but find it’s important to highlight light and hopeful moments so the dark moments feel more real and impactful. I just want to be so careful when writing these issues, and I hope you can understand my perspective on this.

I'm sorry I've given you so much to change, I genuinely really like Byunghee.
