Yeseul is that kind of person who sits back and breeze through her problems rather than pacing back and forth, getting overly anxious over it. She doesn't like being pessimist, rather than indulging herself in too much worry, she treat her problems in a new light without draining herself due to stress. She rarely feel out of the blue and is usually in a good frame of mind. This made her a very relaxed and calm person in everyone's eyes. However, being too much carefree may show that she does not care or are not worried about anything, this could give her an aura of being disinterested or irresponsible, always brushing off her worries and not taking her problems seriously. The nonchalant air that she exudes may start misunderstandings for other people and possibly offend them.

Phlegmatic ㅡ Impassive
Yeseul isn't easily rattled. It will be difficult to upset, excite, or angered her. When it comes to emotions, she can kept her cool and her mind level-headed. In a room full of tension and emotions, Yeseul will stood out with her cool temperament as she observed her surroundings. She doesn't let out her heart jump out hastily from the cage, so if something ever snapped inside her, she rather walk out and cool her head than to rush to the war. Once she got ahold of her emotions, that will be the time she's willing to patch up a serious issue. Of course, there's also a bad thing for being phlegmatic ㅡ being impassive. Not all people appreciate a person who rarely shows emotion in her face, Yeseul have already been told that she's stoic, cold, aloof and every adjective that relates with those words. It's not that she's apathetic, she's far from an ice block who doesn't feel anything. She can feel anger, annoyance and happiness too, it's just she prefer to stored up all of her emotions inside instead of showing it all in the surface. Yeseul feel conflicted and uncomfortable if she just suddenly burst out with her emotions.. and that really will cause misunderstandings and unclear situations. 

Independent ㅡ Detached
Yeseul like to do things on her own and she can definitely take care of herself.. though she cannot cook for her dear life. When she encountered problems or obstacles, the first thing that will come up in her mind is not to call for help, but to try and do it on her own. Even though she's clueless about something, she will try and learn it on her own, like the word 'help' wasn't in her vocabulary. If someone offered help, they are welcome but they should not expect Yeseul to call for help unless she was in dire straits.. such as dying in pain due to her menstrual cramps. Since she's independent to a fault, her friends could not help but feel that she's too distant. They will complain that Yeseul likes to eat out alone, not even inviting one of her friends, or she likes to go out on her own, then they'll complain again. Yeseul understood all of their misgivings, but does she really need to call a friend just to eat out? or do shopping or groceries? It's not that she doesn't like bonding with her friends, she still accompany them from time to time but if it become too frequent, then she needs to recharge herself by enjoying her own solitude. Yeseul's mindset is set to believe that each person have their own lives, they are also busy on their own. A person is free to help others but shouldn't get too lost entangled with a life who isn't theirs. 

Sensible ㅡ Indecisive (warning conflicting traits)
For others, Yeseul is that cool and wise friend, who gives sensible advices for their problems. They can't help but have their minds cleared or suddenly have an enlightenment just because of Yeseul's words of wisdom. Keeping her emotions under control and having a level-headed mind also have it's advantage, her rationality won't be easily clouded and she can give a good sense or judgement for others. So she is dubbed as a life coach.. but the thing is, coaches don't play. Heck, she got lost count of how many times she gave advices to people around her yet she don't even apply it when she encountered those similar situations too. Yeseul is too lost and confused whether she do that or do this, what decision to choose or choice to make. She takes a LONG time before she can completely make a WHOLE decision that she's entirely confident to do.

Patient ㅡ Yielding
Cheon Yeseul is patient, and that's the understatement of the century, patient wasn't even the perfect word to describe that abnormal temperament of hers. She is almost immune to the feeling of anger and has extremely long fuses which is considered almost scary by some, and will only snap after a long period of prolonged and persistent provocation (beware). Even then, she is more likely to retreat within herself and sulk than to try to harm another when angered. Then what happens if she's too much of a buddha? She's nonresistant and this made her be easily taken advantage of, she will brush off any criticisms or insults thrown towards her and was not even willing to retort those.. because she's that patient (or maybe she really doesn't care). Yeseul's very yielding and it may not look like it, but she can't easily say no to others when they are asking for her help.

Quiet but frank, curious, a little bit sloppy and.. tomboyish.
Yeseul is not the typical tomboy that they know, she's doesn't fit the description of 'an energetic, sometimes boisterous girl whose behavior and pursuits, are considered more typical of boys than of girls.' Yeseul is more like the 'quiet and aloof girl whose behavior and interests, are considere more masculine than of feminine.' With her face and casual outfit, it won't be really obvious at the first glance, but if they saw her just plopping herself in a seat, her left leg casually lifted up to rest in her right knee, leaning back with her one arm relaxing on the arm rest while the other hand messily ruffled her hair, without even an oUNCE of feminine air and elegance, that's when will they realized that she's "Ah.. a tomboy," women will think 'what a handsome girl' while the men just think that 'she's another little brother too bad'. Just like them, Yeseul likes sports and play games, boys easily vibe with her though she prefer to stay quiet instead of getting loud but once she speak out what's in her mind, she tend surprise people with her blunt words. Also, Yeseul is a girl who has curiosity of a cat, no she doesn't get curious of climbing a tree and jumping down from it (she already tried it once and swore that won't do it again) there are just some matters that really sparks her interests, like trying baking then ruining her oven because of that, trying cooking and eat a burnt omelet, trying photography and she finally didn't messed up. What matter that she's curious of now? Well, relationships, how does it feel to have a boyfriend? 


Background: 

Father Cheon cried when Yeseul was finally born and screamed "Finally, a daughter!" He kept wishing for a baby girl and heaven knows what things and rituals he had done just for his wife to give birth to a daughter. Cheon Yeseul was like the moon among the shining stars. In the family, there are only four females including her, the rests are males which is his father, grandfathers and her three older brothers. Even the extended family, all of her cousins are males too! It was no doubt that Yeseul was like the pearl of the palm of the whole Cheon Clan. They have this fantasy that Yeseul will be the princess while her brothers and cousins will be the princes in their knight in shining armor, ready to protect their little sister.. but that kind of fantasy was broken when they witnessed a young yeseul climbing up a tree like a monkey, and her brothers falling behind. 

Growing up with a bunch of boys, it's natural that Yeseul adapted those behaviors and her interests would leaned towards the masculine side. She likes to play with her brothers and cousins with outdoor games, and their favorite sport is football! All of those dresses that her mother, grandmothers and even her aunts gifted to her were barely used at all since she preferred to wore pants because "I cannot play football with a skirt!"  It is just painful to see that the treasured pearl of the family that they delicately raised to be a fine princess grew up to be a gallant lady who's way of speaking is more frank than men. When they thought that Yeseul just gonna play outdoor sports in her whole lifetime, she just suddenly have a fascination towards using cameras. Taking a variety of shots from funny to memorable ones, this made her parents hopeful that she'll stop playing around with her male friends (which didn't happen at all). They wholeheartedly support her interest in photography and pampered her to the extreme.

Yeseul appreciates the doting and overwhelming love she receives from her family. She perfectly understood why they are so adamant in spoiling her since she's the only girl among the boys. However, being pampered like this was too much for Yeseul, she wasn't delicate, she isn't like a fragile glass that can be broken anytime, she's also capable like her brothers and cousins too ㅡ she wanted to stand on her own feet and be independent. By the time she was in her 20 year of age, Yeseul insisted in living alone and study Photography away from home. Of course she met a lot of opposition, especially her father who was strongly against her moving out.

In the end, she still moved out and Father Cheon was still helpless about it, he couldn't bear her baby Yeseul facing difficulties in Seoul so he prepared all the necessities that she might need. Yeseul wanted to reject but knowing that her father already agreed on her moving out, she let him be so he can ease his worries a little. She was given a cozy apartment which is really huge for a lonely person like her, what's the use of three bedrooms? Well, her father insists that he would visit from time to time to check on her. Her father also gave her cards and transferred money in her bank account monthly. Again, Yeseul thought that what's the use of moving out if her father kept meddling?

While attending university, Yeseul would take part-time jobs and accepting sidelines so she won't be entirely dependent on his father's money ㅡ she would only use it for paying her monthly rent and tuition fee, while the rest of expenses come from her savings, she also got her own card and kept his father's cards locked away in the bottom of her closet. That's what she kept doing for the whole time she arrived and lived in Seoul, attend university, go to her part-time job, accept commissions and then sleep. 

HOW DID SHE GET IN EM?

Well, she bravely applied in EM as an independent intern at first. Despite being a second year in her university, Yeseul was already thirsty to try and train her skills in a real-work setting. 
 

The CEO looked over the submitted portfolio and then towards the youthful face of Yeseul, she was amazed by the exceptional skills of a still-university student. But there is one thing that still kept bugging her mind as she carefully observed the figure of the young lady sitting infront of her. 

"Are you sure you aren't applying for the model position?" Heejin asked her for the second time. 

"Yes." Yeseul quickly answered. 

'Too bad.' Heejin thought as she thought of how big of a potential if Yeseul auditioned as a model for her company. Good-body proportions with a face that fits the visual standard of the koreans, however, the person wasn't willing. 
 

After a year of being an intern in EM, Yeseul proposed to worked as a full-time photographer and only took saturday classes at her university. The CEO willingly accepted Yeseul's proposition since the latter is surprisingly great that she's on par with other professional photographers.

LIFESTYLE

Yeseul worked full-time in EM on weekdays, while she attend her saturday classes in Chung-Ang University in Anseong, which was more than an hour away from Seoul if she rode a train or bus. Usually, she's free on sundays but sometimes, she accept commissions to be a one-day photographer for small events which would make her busy. Whenever Yeseul have time, she would take time to clean her apartment, not squeaky-clean but enough to satisfy herself. She cannot cook for her life, so she frequently buy food outside, chinese takeouts, fastfood, instant noodles, if she felt a little generous, she would buy a decent meal for herself or eat out in a restaurant. There's only pitchers of water and packs of instant noodles in her kitchen (yikes), she doesn't trust herself in cooking a fry egg. If she ever felt lazy in sundays, she would just sleep or lie in her bed all day long.

her dilemma in love?

EVER SINCE SHE WAS A TEENAGER, YESEUL WAS ALREADY CURIOUS OF HOW IT'S LIKE TO HAVE A BOYFRIEND, HOWEVER IT'S ONLY A FLEETING THOUGHT. 

BUT WHEN HER BROTHERS ARE GETTING LOVERS, CHANGING GIRLFRIENDS, AND EVEN BRINGING THEIR GIRLS TO FAMILY DINNER. THAT SITUATION ONCE LIT UP THE DYING CURIOUSITY INSIDE HER. "WOULD I GET A BOYFRIEND?" AND HER BROTHERS TOLD HER THAT IT WOULD BE EASY TO GET A LOVER YET IT WASN'T THE CASE FOR YESEUL. 

AS A STRAIGHTFORWARD PERSON, YESEUL DIDN'T DILLY DALLIED WHENEVER SHE TOOK A LIKING TO SOMEONE. SHE NEVER FAILED TO CONFESS TO HER CRUSHES.

THE FIRST ONE WAS A SENIOR IN HER UNIVERSITY, A GUY WHO LIKES TO PLAY GUITAR AND PERFORM IN UNIVERSITY FESTIVAL. SHE CONFESSED AND ALL SHE GOT WAS A "I ONLY LIKE YOU AS A FRIEND." AFTER THAT, THEY BECOME REALLY CLOSE, CHATTING MOST OF THE TIME, TALKING ABOUT SPORTS AND STUPID ISSUES IN UNIVERSITY.

THE SECOND ONE WAS ALSO A SENIOR, A GUY WHO HAS A CHARMING VOICE THAT YESEUL HEARD ONCE AND FELL IN INFATUATION. WHEN I SAID FELL, SHE FELL REALLY HARD. SHE CONFESSED TWICE AND GOT THE RESPONSE "YOU DESERVED SOMEONE BETTER." SHE WAS SO BITTER BUT AFTERWARDS THEY BECOME CLOSE FRIEND.. AGAIN. TALKING ABOUT MOBILE GAMES AND PLAYING TOGETHER.

THE THIRD ONE IS THE SCHOOL'S TOP STUDENT, A GUY WHO WASN'T HANDSOME AT ALL BUT HE EXCELLED IN ACADEMICS AND YES, YESEUL ADMIRED HIM FOR HIS INTELLECT. SHE REALLY THOUGHT THAT THEY WILL GET TOGETHER SOON SINCE THEY DATE ONCE, MESSAGED EACH OTHER TIL MIDNIGHT AND GET ALONG VERY WELL. BUT IN THE END, HE ONLY TOLD HER THAT "SORRY BUT I ONLY SEE YOU AS A SISTER."

THAT WAS THREE CONSECUTIVE STRIKES!!! SHE CONFESSED THREE TIMES BUT ONLY BECOME FRIENDS WITH HER EX-CRUSHES. WHAT A JOKE.

IN HER LAST TRY, IT WAS SON SEOLHWA'S OLDER BROTHER. IT WAS ONLY A CRUSH AT FIRST SIGHT BECAUSE OF HIS FACE. WHEN SHE HAD THE CHANCE TO MEET AND TALKED TO HIM, SHE CONFESSED. (YOU CAN SMELL DESPERATION)

AND OF COURSE IT WAS A FAIL, SHE GOT FRIENDZONED AGAIN. (HEY HE WAS 10 YEARS OLDER!!)

HER BROTHERS TOLD HER IT WAS EASY? BUT IT WASN'T EASY AT ALL! SHE'S TIRED OF BEING JUST THE GIRL FRIEND OF HER EX-CRUSHES, NEVER THE SO-CALLED-GIRLFRIEND.

Appearance: 
Yeseul always kept her black hair in a shoulder-length, and she only combed once a day, so it looks unkempt. She never bothered with make-up, she doesn't even have a single lipstick or blush on! 

Fashion style:
Comfort, she always prioritise comfort. Just simple pants and a shirt, it's already fine for her everyday life. Yeseul could not understand why women stay in the boutique for hours and then come out with only a few shopping bags after trying out the whole clothing line. A few shirts that she randomly grabbed and jeans that she casually picked, Yeseul is ready to pay at the cashier. As for the shoes, anything is fine, flats, sneakers but no to skirts, Yeseul felt awkward wearing those. Overall, she doesn't really care on what clothes she wore everyday. If the winter comes, she's ready to wrapped herself with tons of jackets, cardigans or something that could protect her against the cold.

Yeseul could not really get away from the overbearing Seolhwa once she is in the mood to dress her up like a barbie doll. She tried resisting at first but she gave up at the end, letting her do what she wanted. The usual interactions they have is Seolhwa scolding-cursing her to fix her appearance while Yeseul would just nod her head and ignore the incoming verbal assaults from the dragon lady.

Do you believed that Yeseul once took a liking to Seolhwa's brother and even confessed to him? It was just a crush at first sight, but being deprived of lovers or boyfriend drove Yeseul to confessed to him which resulted in a peaceful friendzoned. Dongpyo only saw Yeseul as a younger sister and a friend, literally because he's 10 years older than her, he felt like burying himself under the ground whenever he saw her sister, Seolhwa, giving him dirty look that seems to tell 'what-a-pedo'.
