- Jingyi was born in a village just outside the border of Guojia Kingdom. When she was a teenager, her village was invaded by Guojia, and Jingyi was taken as a concubine for the emperor. As  concubine, Jingyi has a lot of restrictions as a concubine, mainly, she is free to go where she pleases within the palace and capital, so long as she's not out too late or trying to leave the capital. Another major rule is that Jingyi is not allowed to disclose information about the emperor's personal life, including his appearance.
