PERSONALITY. being polite, caring, friendly, and humble makes choi serin become the likeable person who can easily captivate others. she is the person who will leave good first impression most of the time. she is kind to not only those she's close with, but even strangers as well. probably it's because her mother had taught her well about human's psychology. she knows what should be done to please people, and what should be avoided to not offense people. she is keen and quick witted that she has exceptional ability to analyze people and catch on things most people can't. she can know someone's emotional state from their body language, even though that someone has tried to conceal and hide it. serin is gifted by wisdom despite of her young age. she learns from not only her experience, but she also learns from others' experience she witnessed, the story she heard, the movie or drama she watched, the historical events she learned, and even the scolds she heard.
 
choi serin is a walking paradox. Though she is tolerant, she is a perfectionist at once. She might tolerate people who make a mistake, but she can't tolerate continuous mistakes. she knows how to be proud of herself while she actually is a humble person. and she can be provocative at times, despite of being suppressed. choi serin has a thirst for knowledge and experience. she likes to analyze, observe, and learn. she isn't ashamed to admit when she doesn't know about something. so probably one of the fastest way to get close to choi serin is being intelligent / knowledgeable, having many abilities, or having various experiences. choi serin is practical. she doesn't only talk or imagine something, but she will put it into a real action. her acts come out first before her words. that is why she is logical and realistic. she knows what can be done and what can't be done, and tends to refuse doing useless things.
 
the thing about her which frustates people is that she is a helpless fellow. she would stand for others when they are wronged, however when she got misunderstood or got into an argument, she doesn't defend herself unless she sees that someone will suffer at loss, and she will give in instead. some people will start to despise her, the time they find out that she only 'acted' as the one at fault. because they would misunderstand her to not thinking seriously of the matter. choi serin is suppressed. she has a strong control of her mind, so it lets her to stay collected. however, it also what makes her becomes a bit dishonest at times. she doesn't voice out her annoyance and hides it behind her smile. words from are all filtered and sometimes are sugarcoated. it's probably caused by her secretive side which prefers to hide her true self from others. she's good at changing subject and take attention off her, and give vague and evasive answers for personal questions she wants to avoid.


BACKGROUND. choi serin was born in a comfortable life as the youngest child of a chaebol family. her family moved to spain due to her father's business, and they moved back to south korea for the same reason. privileged with her parents' wealth, she managed to get various lessons since she was child. ballet, archery, foreign language, piano, violin, martial arts, fine arts, dance, horse riding and more. she would take two lessons at a time, however most of it didn't last longer than 2 years, so then her parents would sign her for another lessons. the lessons she managed to take seriously was only taekwondo, archery, and dance. she then became a taekwondo athlete, and would still take archery and dance lessons as her hobbies.

she once had a bestfriend, who was a transfer student when they were in 3rd grade. they maintained their friendship as they attend the same school until middle school. her bestfriend was warm-hearted, with sweet and genuine smile, also caring and mature personality. she was beautiful, just like her name was, so-hwa, a little flower. she then felt like a storm struck her, when she witnessed sohwa jumped to her death from their school's rooftop, when they were in 1st grade of middle school. it brought a huge shock for her, as she later found out that sohwa was a victim of child abuse. it left a huge trauma for her. she suffered from guilt of not being able to prevent sohwa's suicide, and it was her biggest regret to not being able to catch sohwa's hidden scar, both mentally and physically.

her state was a mess. she even got herself severely injured when practicing taekwondo for her upcoming tournament, for having her mind wander away in the middle of her hard training. she even had to give up on being an athlete. seems like the series of tragedy was too much for her to handle. not too long after she got injured, her family recognized that she seem to not remembering some events, most notably, the thing about sohwa. her mother realized it was dissociative amnesia. for her sake, her parent agreed to get her home educated instead. not only in general subjects, they also taught her psychology and politics. they also kept her on being busy by having her learn acting. as she started to settled, she decided to audition for jyp ent after being scouted by a jyp staff on 2016. her family dare not to oppose her.

jung myunghee is a gentle mother to her children. she knows how to love her children without spoiling them. as the only daughter, serin became the one who's closest to her mom. the one who clearly shows that she loves her mother the best. despite of having few housemaids in their household, myunghee would always get her clean her room by herself and help to cook dinner. at first she got a little irritated because it only happens to her, and not with her brothers. but she later became used to it and she rather enjoys it, now.

serin was the very first female trainee felix actually interact with, after he entered jyp ent. he was lost in the building alone, and serin who was going back from the toilet was the first person he saw. serin ended up walking him to the practice room he looked for. they became close as time went by, and they would then exchange feedbacks about each other's performance, mostly in rap. they would also hang out together as well, sometimes.

Hyunjin's adorkable and outgoing personality let them became close easily. back then, Hyunjin would often offers serin the snacks she brought, though sometimes she would end up eating it all with someone else because serin don't really like to snack unless she feels a bit hungry.

the two became close during the formation battle. They also used to be in the position battle, as well. Both of them contribute much in choreography to both team, so they naturally became close by those time arguing and discussing. Though in their general interaction they seems like sister-in-laws(?)

一she started off as other trainees. only practicing as much as she can rather than as much as she should have, she didn't have anything special on her and her talents were rather average. she used to focus solely on her dance that she was weak in singing. but at some point, she started to practice much harder and started to pay more attention to her singing, and even began to practice rap as well, which suddenly made her stands out because of her rapid improvements. probably starting from that time, she slowly made her way as the company's ace. jyp even sent her as the company's representative on mixnine, though she had only trained for a year
 
一she would usually start practicing at noon, straight until at least 9pm before going back to home. she doesn't live in dormitory as her house is nearby neighborhood. after going home, she would study until midnight before going to sleep. sometimes she would even study until 1 or 2am if she forgets to even glance at the time. on weekends, she would usually practice for 10-12 hours in a day. starting from 7 or 8am. but she would practice up to 14 hours in a day if monthly evaluation is near. she would practice for 2 sessions. she would practice for 5-7 hours first, then rest for about 4-5 hours before go to practice again for another 5-7 hours.
