heejung acts like he doesn't care about things, sometimes he really doesn't but when it involves his friends or people close to him, deep inside of him he's actually very concerned about them. he doesn't open up easily but that's because of his tsundere nature. he always tries to help others with their problems behind their backs but would rarely turn to others for their help even if he really needs it. 

don't try to get into an argument with heejung because there is no way you're going to win it. once heejung takes a stand, there is no way he's changing his mind even though it may not necessarily be logical. his hardheadedness and pride would not allow him to admit that he's wrong. what's worse is that his hot temper would just intimidate others in fear that he becomes violent. but heejung has more self control than that. which is also the reason why he tends to storm away from arguments. overtime, heejung would meet someone who is able to tame his temper 

once heejung sets his heart out to do something, his determination is able to drive him a long way. he is able to follow the plans he sets out for himself and wouldn't back down merely cause he's "tired" once you want something, you have to get it done one way or another "get out there and finish what you started" is something heejung would constantly remind himself.

having music as his solitude from a young age, heejung has developed a steong passion in music. he aims to not only express himself through his music but to also touch and reach out to others. he wants to inspire people with his music and to make them feel less alone in desperate times.

you can make fun of him all you want but don't you dare make fun of his family. his mother is the only family member he has and she means the world to him. he is extremely protective over his mother and once you say something offensive about her, you better watch your back

heejung’s mother is pretty young to have a son of heejung’s age. however that’s because his mother got pregnant when she was young and was abandoned by her boyfriend at that point in time. being a staunch catholic, heejung’s mother didn’t abort the child and decided to raise him on her own. hence, heejung has no clue as to who his father is yet he managed to hate whoever that bastard is on the basis that he left his mother when she needed him the most. heejung has convinced his mother many times to allow him to change his birth name because he still had his surname and he wanted to erase all trace of him from their lives. however, his mother insisted that he needed to keep it for a reason that she never explained to heejung.

it has always been heejung and his mother. without a clue as to who his father is, heejung respects his mother for all the tough times she's been through. taking on the role of both mother and father for heejung, heejung has witness his mother go through many sufferings to make ends meet. heejung wishes to not see his mother go through such a tough life anymore and is determined to be successful for her.

heejung spent a lot of time in the childcare when he was younger as his mother was constantly busy working so he had developed a strong relationship with a boy who is also constantly around (bang jaeho). heejung’s trouble maker instincts were probably picked up from jaeho who would constantly force heejung into doing something he would regret. jaeho once forces heejung into sneaking out of the childcare before and as a young rebellious kid, jaeho explored every corner of the neighbourhood and happen to find some new born kittens. what jaeho didn’t notice was the mother of the kittens nearby as he approached them. thankfully for heejung’s fast reflexes, he managed to push his friend out of the way as the mother pranced over, being protective over her kittens. ever since then, heejung swore to never get with cats ever again because that mother cat was ferocious.

despite leaving the childcare (cause they were getting too old for it), heejung and jaeho still stayed in contact and would meet up often after school cause they were both the only child who had plenty of free time on their hands. they would often hand out in jaeho’s house where jaeho would introduce to heejung the developments in the music scene because his father is highly involved in the music industry. because of this, heejung was exposed to the world of music, particularly the rap scene. jaeho took this opportunity to introduce heejung to the underground rap scene that he was also a part of. and this was when heejung found his “first love”. he loved everything about the underground rap scene and had grown to become a better rapper, together with jaeho.

heejung spent a lot of time in the underground club (mainly cause he had nothing better to do, and it was his escape). he would prepare performances regularly and sometimes even take part in freestyle rap battles. it just so happen that one day, a scouter from sunlight entertainment (maybe song jeonghan) was at the club and tried to scout him. when heejung first met jeonghan, there was something about that male than heejung didn’t like. maybe because he had to cold city boy vibes and think that he can get anything he wanted because of his looks. initially heejung refused but jeonghan was a persistent bugger and couldn’t back off until heejung agreed. which in the end, heejung joined sunlight entertainment and cursed jeonghan in his head every time for dragging him into becoming an idol because “that ain’t easy”

– mother:: shin jihye (43) fc:lee yoori / pre-school teacher / calm, patient, extremely religious /jihye never got married as she got pregnant at an early age unexpectedly. her boyfriend at that point in time broke off with her, not wanting to take responsibility for the child. however, due to her religious nature, jihye could not bear to abort the child. hence she took it upon herself to raise the child on her own. as a single parent with a single child, the mother and son relationship was something that many was envious of. heejung could share everything with his mother and would listen to her advice and do whatever she orders him to do.

– childhood friend:: bang jaeho (24) fc: vixx's ravi / camp facilitator / trouble maker, adventurous /heejung and jaeho were practically brothers. sticking together since a young age, they did many things together and also developed many interest in common. although jaeho’s family was quite well to do, he never once looked down on heejung neither did he pity him. jaeho treated heejung as an equal which was something that heejung liked about jaeho. despite being a good rapper and being the son of a ceo, jaeho was never interested to become an idol. jaeho became a camp facilitator due to his love for the outdoors and he is an expert at being one step ahead of the trouble maker kids because he used to be like them after all. heejung and jaeho are still in close contact with each other and heejung feels that it is because of jaeho that he managed to be where he is right now

– fatherly figure :: bang sihyuk (47) fc: bang sihyuk / ceo of bighit ent / humorous, generous /since heejung was hanging out at jaeho’s house, he would often meet his father treats heejung like his own son. knowing about heejung’s family situation, sihyuk would take very good care of heejung and occasionally giving him gifts on special occasions. he saw the talent that heejung has and almost asked the young boy to join his company, but he held back wanting to see how much he could grow on his own. heejung’s scouting was actually the doing of sihyuk, (but heejung didn’t need to know that). sihyuk had recommended sunlight entertainment the underground club as a good place to look for potential trainees, knowing that they lacked trainees.

heejung took part in the underground rap scene where he would produce beats and write his own rap verses. since there wasn't any standards to follow, he would write his raps to his own liking, expressing all his thoughts since rap was his outlet to pour his emotions out. he was then scouted by sunlight entertainment as a scouter so happen to be around the night he performed. deciding that pursuing a life as an idol rapper may be able to help him earn more money to help his family's financial situation, heejung decided to join the entertainment

trainee life.  

being a trainee wasn't what heejung would have expected. he felt restricted and hated all the classes he had to participate in, who knew that idols actually study harder than students? he often gets in trouble for talking back or showing attitude. but heejung doesn't want to be someone who gives up when things get tough so he is determined to pull through the trainee life and to be able to debut

how do you feel about debuting?

i’m glad I managed to make it this far, I can’t wait to make my mother proud

do you have any goals you want to achieve with Sole? 

that we will be able to create music that everyone can relate too, even in dark times

do you have any role model? How do they inspire you? 

bang yongguk is my greatest role model. he started out in the underground rap scene too and managed to make it so big, producing loads of great music and telling his own story

do you have any ideal type as well? 

i currently do not have a specific ideal type but having someone who is able to handle my temper would be nice

how do you feel about the concept of your group? 

i like it. it shows that entertainment companies are not exclusive and are able to form groups from more than one company

what do you think about your labelmates, necalli, adora and loona?

i respect them a lot, i’m sure the idol life isn’t easy
