— FACEPAINT.
FACE CLAIMPark Jinyoug (GOT7)
BACK UP FACE CLAIMYoo Youngjae (BAP)

APPEARANCE — To spare you from my extremely long descriptions that would definitely bore you, he looks exactly like his faceclaim, from the messy brownish-black mop of hair that looks as if he had just rolled out of bed to the long limbs Park Jinyoung has. Shin Hyunwook is the sort of guy that looks innocent enough, and with features that are extremely pretty like his naturally red lips, protruding collarbones, long and pretty fingers as well as his naturally slim and seemingly fragile build, but once he opens his mouth, those who are originally attracted to him might develop an entirely different opnion of him because his actions and words just doesn't match his soft appearance.

STYLE — His wardrobe consists mostly of tight shirts or too-large sweaters, tight jeans and long wool jackets/cardigans. He adores trench coats as well, and has a fondness for accessories, including his black choker, a small earring hanging from his right ear, and a watch. He suffers from short sight so he wears a pair of round-framed glasses too - when he's outside and not performing (in which case he wears contact lenses). Also, he is never seen anywhere without his trademark combat boots.

An outfit that he really likes is a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, one shirt tail untucked, black belt holding up tight black pants with a pair of laced-up combat boots (image). He often forgoes a jacket, though if necessary would grudgingly wear a long wool jacket that does nothing against the cold. On colder days, he wears a dark-coloured sweater that is slightly too large, or sometimes white turtlenecks with tight black pants, and again, his combat boots. In the summer, he likes to wear a dress shirt too, though short-sleeved ones and a hoodie which he often loves to draw over his messy and tousled black locks.

— SHARP AS A PENCIL.
PERSONALITY
♚ + determined, smart, confident, protective, somewhat outgoing, loyal
♚ = dramatic, unpredictable
♚ - somewhat rude, sarcastic, blunt, irritable, rebellious, distrusting

If you look at just his negative traits, he seems every inch the typical rebellious teen; rude, sarcastic, and a short temper to boot. Oh dear. However, Shin Hyunwook is actually a good person - if you manage to stick around long enough to witness that.

First of all, Hyunwook is a very determined person. He's aggressive in pursuing his goals, and would stop at nearly nothing in order to achieve it - except maybe words from those he hold dear. He's extremely protective too, so woe betide those who hurts or gossips about those he loves. Being loyal to his friends, they rely on him quite a lot, as they know he'll never betray them. He's somewhat outgoing as well, always likes to introduce himself to people whom he has taken an interest in and doesn't shy away from te companion of people, or is he shy himself.

He's also a teensy bit of a drama queen, and likes to make a fuss over nothing, though mostly just for the heck of it, and is mostly for comedy purposes. Hyunwook, however does not show this side of him when he throws a fit - meaning, he doesn't use it to get something he wants.

However, his temper is to be handled delicately. once it is set off, hardly anything could stop him so if people are smart they better stay the away because goodness knows what Shin Hyunwook would do when he's mad, because he's really unpredictable.

He also rarely conceals the truth, and speaks it as it is, causing some people to dislike him due to his bluntness. A good thing about this is that he's painfully honest. Despite this, he is quite a wise person, and gives genuinely helpful advice to those who stumbled on the path of life.

He's also sarcastic, and this is constantly on show, though it's mostly an endearing sense of sarcasm instead of really hurting - but it can sometimes unconsciously hurt someone. His mouth doesn't have a filter either, and he likes speaking his mind, which of course includes his constant swearing, and which people find offensive as well.

He also carries himself with unwavering confidence, which can cause others to be intimidated.. Hyunwook is also a rebellious individual, which could cause him trouble. Coupled with his dramatic and sarcastic personality, most poeple thinks he is a handful. Bear in mind though, once you have Shin Hyunwook as your friend, you can ensure yourself being a precious individual.

He also suffers from mood swings, which is pretty dangerous as those around him, who are not aware of this would act carelessly, to which he might snap and say things he doesn't mean to. Due to complicated events in his past, he also suffers from bouts of depression.

— DRAW MY LIFE.
PAST — Shin Hyunwook was born on a sunny winter afternoon, to a Chinese musician and a Korean artist, in Busan, where he was greeted with smiles and hugs from all of his family members who were there to witness his birth.

He had a pretty much normal childhood thorughout primary school, but once he went to middle school, his life changed, causing hi to no more be in the safe and warm haven he sees his previous life to be. Due to his love of art, as well as the fact that his father is an artist, he starts indulging himself in it, and is rather distant from the other classmates, especially the boys who think that it's a girly habit. Hyunwook was thus distanced from the main population of the students, and spends most of his time alone.

This would've been fine for him, if not for his brother, Hoseok's interfering. He had saw his little brother being bullied by others, who did it both verbally and physically, and thus fought those who had hurt him. Hyunwook saw what his brother was doing, and starts to stand up for himself, though still slightly unable to, but he became more outgoing and his tongue became sharper.

When he thought everything was well and solved, at the age of sixteen his world came crashing down again, when his powers manifested. He sees nightmares every night, causing him insonmia, and when he couldn't sleep, he saw instead black ink with a gold sheen pouring down the sides of his bedroom walls, and thought that he was hallucinating. It was a terrible moment in his life, and he does not wish to recall it, not even now.

Thus was the beginning of everything else. He was afraid, constantly, and fell into depression and insonmia, surviving sleepless nights by drawing and sketching, his own creations coming back to cut his skin. His brother thought he was suicidal, and immediately contacted a psychiatrist.

What was the odds of the psychiatrist being a shin himself? Possibly below zero. It turns out that he knows about the shin, and was one himself, albeit an extremely weak one. However, others had sought his help, and ultimately, Hyunwook took a turn for the better after knowing everything.

PRESENT — After he graduated highschool with honours, his mother persuaded him to pursue art, while his father raised the suggestion of a musical career, like his brother, Hoseok, who was currently a trainee. Hyunwook grew exasperated, and eventually enrolled at a university where he currently studies literature and art, because, fine, mom. He still sees the psychiatrist daily, but mostly for regular check-ups on his power and nightmares instead of consulting him about his own mental health.

He also shares an apartment with his cousin, a girl named Lee Suhyo, who attends the same university as him, but majoring in dance and history instead. (I know it's a weird combination - ) She knows briefly about his condition, but not all of the details. (Spoiler - little did he know that Suhyo is a shin herseslf)

Being in university, doing something he loves, is like a dream come true for Hyunwook, who was insecure for quite some time of his life. He now is surviving school, attends lectures by his tragic professor who likes to make everything miserable, causing Romeo and Juliette to be almost of a comedy, and stays up nights trying to finish his art assignments, as well as attending the occassional crazy party thrown by his equally crazy friends, but hey, that's life for you.

— LOOK AROUND.
FAMILY —
Mother / Li Lian / 53 / kind, slightly demanding, protective
His mother and him generally has quite a good relationship, especially due to the both of them being artists. However, it was also due to the both of them loving art that she demands a certain amount from her son, especially when it comes to art. Despite that, she was one of the first people to help Hyunwook seek help for his 'depression' and 'hallucinations'. She is kind to both siblings, and would risk anything to keep them safe - a good mother, generally.
Father / Shin Jongki / 55 / proud, distant, determined
Jongki, unlike his wife, doesn't spend much time at home, and is thus more distant from the siblings. He doesn't play much of an important role in Hyunwook's growing up, and blames himself for it, though only a bit. He is proud of his work, but also extremely dedicated to it, and so is mostly at the studio where he spends restless days and nights whipping up song tracks for idols, performers, but also for himself. Later, when Hoseok is shown to pursue a musical career, Jongki spends more time with his older son to hone his skills.
Half older brother / Shin Hoseok / 24 / protective, determined, sarcastic
He is Hyunwook's half older brother from their father's previous marriage, and is extremely protective over him, to the point of fighting his battles for him. He doesn't admit it, but it's obvious to everyone around them. When they were young, Hoseok watched over him, and is an intimating figure to those who dared to bother his brother because he knows martial arts. Once they grow up, however, Hyunwook grew rather tired of Hoseok's constant mothering, and is irritated because I do not ing need protection, you damn . Despite this, the brothers are still fond of each other, and tends to argue about the most random and stupidest things.
Little sister / Shin Eunyeon / 18 / bubbly, tends to keep to herself, sarcastic (it's a family trait)
Eunyeon is a sweet little thing that grew up under two extremely protective elder brothers, so her future boyfriend may well as be dead for all the two care. She is annoyed about it, but unlike Hyunwook, doesn't show obvious disdain. She has a somewhat bubbly personality, and is a small ball of sunshine to the Shin household. However, due to the age differences between the siblings, especially as one of them is in university and another is graduated, she feels somewhat distant from her brothers and tends to keep to herself. Also, since she doesn't like either music or art, her parents didn't pay such a large amount of attention to her as they did to the two, but nonetheless, they still love her. The Shin siblings can be seen in constant argument over something stupid, but hey, that's siblings for you.
Older cousin / Shin Jineul / 21 / sarcastic (like I said, it's a family trait), hot-headed, protective
Jineul and Hyunwook are a pair of asshats in the family, meaning they like to wreck harvoc and have sass battles in the middle of the street (that did happen once, tbh). Jineul is Hyunwook's favourite cousin in the family, which is saying something, even though he has the mentality of a three year old. The two constantly argues, but when Hyunwook is in trouble, the first person he usually seeks is Jineul, who would offer a shoulder to cry on and a ear to listen to his rants. They're really close, and Jineul is Hyunwook's emotional pillar.
Cousin / Lee Suhyo / 20 / stubborn, sarcastic, mature
Even though the two are the same age, Suhyo is regarded as the more mature because she is the one who tends to be able to shut down Hyunwook's dramatic antics and his constant complaining. The two live together in an apartment in campus, and while the others think they are dating because they share a residence, both quickly shut down the rumours (perhaps with a bit of violence involved as well). Anyhow, the cousins enjoy each other's company, and gets along well.

FRIENDS —
British friend / Michael Kim/Kim Hyunseok / 21 / funny, slightly rude [OC; faceclaim - DEAN]
He's the guy who taught Hyunwook slang, and enjoys it as well. The two knew each other in middle school, but since Michael is half British, he went back to the UK after graduation, so the two is somewhat distant. They still keep in contact, though.
Best friend / Yoo Youngjae / 21 / dramatic, sarcastic, mischevious
Also known as his partner in crime, the two loves indulging in pranking people on campus, specifically their professors and the freshman. The two knew each other at a young age, so they had no problem reconciling in university. Youngjae knows about Hyunwook's condition, but only briefly, like Hoseok. Like Hoseok, he wants to seek help for Hyunwook, but after seeing him being fine after some time, he relaxed. Still, he doesn't let down his guard.
Artist friend / Park Junhee / 20 / honest, friendly, slightly shy
One of the partners he'd worked with before. He's close to Junhee mainly because the both enjoyed fine art, especially Claude Monet's works. Junhee was asked to help carry art supplies to a classroom two buildings over the same time Hyunwook's professor pleaded asked, so the two made trips back and forth, and somehow became close friends. The two likes spending time in a studio together, dabbing away at paint on canvas, sometimes in silence, sometimes talking about pointless stuff. Oh, Junhee is also the guy Hyunwook relied on to distinguish the tea cups and the cups for holding water (this is extremely important).
Rant/best friend / Jung Daehyun / 21 / cheerful, ongoing, slightly sarcastic
Also known as, the literature student who first sat next to him on their first lecture at the university whom Hyunwook somehow struck up a conversation with. Due to their mutual love of literature as well as the occasional politics, they like to engage in debates that often end in physical activity such as wrestling on the floor of the library, much to the horror of the students around them and the anger of the libarian. They just basically like to argue about literature and politics over cups of tea, a pastime Hyunwook likes, a lot. They're really close due to this.
Friend / Cha Hakyeon / 23 / sassy, confident, annoyed easily
One of Suhyo's friends that she bothered to introduce to him. Since Hakyeon is a dance major, and Hyunwook likes dancing (though not to the point of it becoming a real career), they like to share tips about that. Hakyeon is somewhat of a mother, and likes to fret over his friends, though stopped after Hyunwook threated to kill him with a paintbrush.

OTHERS —
his princess / Persephone / 2 / proud, cunning, easily irritated
Also known as the spoiled princess of the Shin household. He fell in love with the Siberian cat immediately when he walked past the shop, and bought her home, much to the dismay of his younger sister, who is allergic to the cat. She is always pampered by Hyunwook, and likes to plant her on his lap whenever he sits on the couch doing nothing. Persephone likes to scratch people who touches her without consent, so Suhyo is covered in claw marks, even though the cat likes to rub herself against the girl's knee when Hyunwook's not at home.
psychiatrist / Han Seungmin / 43 / helpful, kind, encouraging
The shin psychiatrist that treated Hyunwook after his visions started appearing. He told the boy of the shin, and their powers, and everything he needs to know about them. To Hyunwook, he felt like a mentor, guiding him through everything. Now, Hyunwook still goes for regular check-ups regarding his physical and mental health, as well as his powers.
literature crush / James Carstairs / 17 / kind, gentle, helpful
Every reader has one of these at one point, and Hyunwook is no exception. When he first started the Mortal Instrument series, he hates them because it's cliche, it's trash, it's typical American fantasy books, but when he reads the prequel and second series of it, he falls in love with one of the main characters, James Carstairs immediately. He even thought of drawing him so he can come to life, however, both Suhyo and Jaebum shuts him down because it could lead to disaster, causing Hyunwook to sulk for a full ten days. Here's his official wiki page: link

— PAPER HEART
STRENGTH — Hyunwook and Seungmin realised early on that he's a rather powerful shin. Whenever and whatever he sketches, it almost always show some trait of being alive. Even though they hadn't gotten to the point of leaving the paper or canvas, he's still quite afraid. At first, it seems harmless, when he drew a picture of a bird, and it flaps its wings. He then continues to experiment with drawing, his curiousity getting the better of him, and realises the drawings being more powerful. Seungmin taught him to trap his creations using either drawn cages in water so it doesn't show, but still efficiently trapping them.

He suffers from nightmares that are horribly vivid, and, even though he has experienced depression, he still hates them and tries to keep them at bay, but fails. When he is tortured by the nightmares, he can't sleep, and thus suffers from insonmia, where he's forced to watch ink drip from his ceiling, black ink oozing down the sides of his walls with a golden sheen. Though, thankfully this happens only when he's depressed, so he is normally fine.

His hands, delicate musician hands inherited from his father, are always seen to be scarred with his creations, as he'd drawn weapons when he's depressed, and soon discovering it to be a grave mistake, trapped it with chains and burnt them.

STABILITY — He's generally stable, as his depression starts to get better, but Hyunwook does have random spells of depression, in which his power becomes unstable, and he's forced to watch the ink drip, literally. After he met Jaebum though, he is getting better and better, which is a relief to both him and Jaebum. Also Seungmin.

SUMMARY

PERSONALITY

Jaebum looks like the silent type (which he is - somewhat), but he actually isn't.  He is generally a sweet guy around Hyunwook; he knows how to control his flunctuating moods, but also knows when to stay away and keep people away from him.

Those who don't know him has the first impression of him as a cold and aloof person, but they couldn't be more wrong. He displays his affectionate side when he's around people whom he's close with, but around strangers he's polite and somewhat having a distance.

However, those who could and did became closer with him finds out easily that he is actually a gentle and caring person. Jaebum has a seemingly infinite amount of patience, and he uses it often, but when he snaps, it's not a pretty sight.

He even has a playful side that he shows sometimes to the people he has taken a liking to, as well as those extremely close to him, and likes to prank people. Just sometimes though.

He takes good care of Hyunwook and mothers him like Hoseok does - which Hyunwook hates, but he secretly likes the constant attention.

RELATIONSHIP TRIVIA

— They like playing video games together, and Jaebum actually hit Hyunwook's head with his controller once due to the excitement.
— Jaebum loves Persephone, and likes cuddling her whenever Hyunwook brings her.
— Hyunwook, whenever they cuddle, have a habit of burying his nose into his boyfriend's neck and inhale his scent
— If and when they have the chance to sleep together, Hyunwook would most probably steal all the covers and Jaebum would most probably just roll over and cuddle the other so they can be warm together.
—  Hyunwook has a habit of hitting his boyfriend  (affectionately) and Jaebum has a habit of kicking him back in return
— Jaebum likes calling Hyunwook 'fluffball', and likes teasing him [warning: do not do this or you would be murdered]
— Jineul swore, in front of Jaebum that if he ever makes Hyunwook cry anything except tears of joy he would brutally maul him to death
— He's lucky that Hoseok accepts his presence because otherwise he would have been killed violently for dating Hyunwook
— Jaebum is one of the few people Hyunwook allows in his personal studio, besides his siblings, Suhyo, Youngjae and Junhee
— They have officially made the library their designated date place
— The two are all for cliche coffee shop dates
— Jaebum cannot goddamn flirt. Hyunwook can swear to that
— Hyunwook likes to choke and fake-cough whenever Jaebum puts on his cold front, and when the fangirls' eyes became hearts
— Jaebum knows of Hyunwook's crush on Jem Carstairs, and strongly opposes to him drawing the character

— LOOK OUT.
FIRST MEETING — Jaebum is sort of the prince on campus, the Ice Prince, as his fanclub likes to call him (he unfortunately has one). He majors in music and literature, so he has the same class as Hyunwook. Somehow, he got paired with the boy for one of their assignments. At first, he was uncomfortable around the older because he was known to be cold and aloof, but after a few more meetings, the two warmed up to each other, and got to know each other better. They became close friends, and is the second dump can after Daehyun. One day, when the two were playing video games at Hyunwook's apartment, Suhyo thankfully gone away to some faraway place, he just tossed the causal question of 'what if you were my boyfriend', and then it just sort of happened.

RELATIONSHIP

Their relationship is more of a master-pet than anything. And by that, I mean Jaebum constantly holding Hyunwook back from doing he likes, and Hyunwook constantly doing that he likes. Blep. Anyways, Hyunwook likes quarrelling over little things with Jaebum, who always looks as if he's so done with his boyfriend's .

Jaebum, to be honest feels like Hyunwook's father more than his boyfriend at times, but he would join in the fun of pranking and doing stupid if he could.

Jaebum's 'true' side of his personality comes into show when they play video games together. The two absolutely loves video games, and are extremely competitive when they play, which basically means it involves a lot of shouting, screaming, fighting, and making up.

When they argue for real, it's not really a pretty sight, and poor Youngjae can be seen trying to mend their relationship along with Jineul, who mostly sighs and watches from the sidelines.

They were careful with their relationship - extremely careful. Even though they try to make it not obvious that they're dating, Hyunwook likes sneaking off to Jaebum's room, which results in Jaebum's roommate knowing, and thus the rumours spread like wildfire.

Jaebum knew of the shin, and knew everything, because he was well-informed on the matter as his father is a researcher in this field. At first, he was curious about it, but after seeing how severe it really was, he threw his curiousity away and just does his best to help his boyfriend, something Hyunwook appreciates a lot.

Still, they love each other very much and wouldn't give up their relationship for anything in the world.

CONCLUSION — Still dating, please~ Several arguments, some serious though mostly fooling around and with Youngjae trying to fix and patch it up. There might be breaks, there might be anything you want, but please let them stay together at the end~ <3

— LOOK NOW.
FAMOUS LAST WORDS — Hi - so first things first, because the I somehow couldn't link anything to the words 'gallery' after the faceclaim's name, I linked the names to the sites instead ^^
I also may have taken my fangirling over Jem up a notch because he's just so afjalskdfjlasdfaf -
Anyways, this app is written somewhat hurriedly so there's going to be things missing - just tell me and I'll fix them :)
I know there isn't much elaboration about Suhyo because I'm planning on writing an app for her, but with the deadline drawing close, plus me going on an overseas trip, I'm not too sure...can I ask for an extension? XD
And like, I really wanted to do a photo-frame thingy for them but I didn't have time T T
Oh, one more thing; I changed a lot of the ages of the idol characters to fit the story, so it might seem a bit weird XD
I hope you like him! He's quite a difficult character due to his personality, but he's a good person ^^

SCENE SUGGESTIONS
- Suhyo appearing (if I couldn't fill in an app for her)
- Apperances of Persephone
- Their fanclub, lmao
- Hyunwook fanboying over Jem; it'll be epic if Suhyo or Jaebum is around to witness it
- Seungmin and Hyunwook's sessions
- I'll tell you when I can think of more! Good luck in your writing ^^
