⟪ FULL NAME ⟫ Lucy Jane Harper

⟪ BIRTHDAY ⟫ 23.12

⟪ AGE ⟫ 17

⟪ ETHNICITY ⟫ French-British...something whitish...

⟪ FACE-CLAIM ⟫ Willow Shields
⟪ BACK UP ⟫ Joey King

⟪ FASHION STYLE ⟫ The night before, Lucy knows what she is wearing the next day. Her outfits are impeccable, nary a string out of place. Dresses and skirts paired with pretty blouses are her favorites, though a good pair of fitted dark denim are appreciated. She doesn't particularly like clothing that's overly big for her, but appreciates their function when needed. Slumming it for Lucy would be a plain, but well fitting, t-shirt, and jeans. She isn't exactly experimental in her fashion or patterns, but can be coaxed by her friends to try something new as long the rest of the group is involved.

⟪ APPEARANCE ⟫ Long blonde hair, sometimes with natural waves, other times straight and silky, Lucy keeps her mane under control. And if that fails, it's time to do a french braid or up-do. Her eyes are hazel and brows are always on point. Standing 170cm, she is definitely not willowy or thing, instead sporting some natural curves that only started showing up a couple of years ago as she's aged.

 ⟪ SUMMARY ⟫

Excellence runs in the Harper family. Her mother an architect of some renown, her father a photojournalist with more awards than she can recall, and her siblings well on their way to greatness: Lucy has always felt like an anomaly in her home. She strives for recognition; but can't excel to reqch the stars like her family has. So she gives everything one hundred and ten percent, trying to find that one thing that will set her apart from others and  cement her place amongst them. And when that one hundred and ten percent isn't enough? Well...Lucy can't afford to think about that. So much really that she's missing that maybe, just maybe, she doesn't have to be up there with them to be happy and worth noting.

⟪ PERSONALITY ⟫ Dignified, Polished, Dutiful, Opportunistic, Ambitious, Superficial, Tolerant, Rigid, Allocentric, Worldly, Fearful

At first glance, Lucy is the typical "pretty rich girl" in school. Not a hair out of place, clothing clean and pressed, and her all too well done makeup making you wonder if she really is wearing it or if she is just that flawless. Lucy is very careful with her image in this aspect. She portrays a well composed, diginified young lady under most circumstances. Flowing through the halls, head held high, first impressions mean a lot of Lucy. Conversations with Lucy are well constructed, flowing comfortably in a manner that can make a person question if she didn't do some research before the talk even happened. Because that is what Lucy wants you to think. Her manners are immaculate and polished, refined to the point you might thinks she was some sort of noblewoman from a royal household. Due to her focus on her outward image however, sometimes Lucy is just a bit too superficial (particularly about her appearance). The image others have of her take such a priority in her life that Lucy has a hard time of turning it off. Her image is so strong that few even try to look beyond it. And while Lucy may not be particularly "happy" that most view her as "Lady Harper" instead of Lucy, she can't bring herself to shatter the image. Sometimes it makes her look stiff though, or simply not much fun. But that's far from the case.

"You call it trouble. I call it opportunity." One of Lucy's most common phrases, she does not shrink at a challenge. While others might see the glass as half full, Lucy sees it as a chance to get a refill. It might amaze some who don't know her well that Lucy has quite an ambitious streak in her. She doesn't say no to things outright. Even if the task seems like it might be unpleasant, she understands that sometimes it's neccassary to keep your options open. Because saying no to that might close the door on something bigger and greater later down the road. Can't have that. She sees things as a bigger picture more than anything...and while that means she misses the little things, those don't really matter when you need to reach for the stars, right?

But Lucy is quite a people person. Her interactions people come off as poised, and with some calm confidence. "Here, eat this. You missed your lunch didn't you?" Lucy pays attention to the people around her, and can be quite considerate of their needs. If someone needs something, Lucy is one of the first to step up. The clubs and teams she's part of know that if it's zero hour and something needs to be done, Lucy can be relied on to do it. She doesn't want to fail those around her, and she refuses to allow herself to be the one who causes the failure. She is all too eager to jon and help, but this also means she can overextend herself. She's open to new things and ideas, and sees things to their natural end without much resistance. Be a service to the group and society around you. She's a kind girl who enjoys people around her, and is happy to join in activities with them. Nothing makes her happier than being surrouned by new people, new things, and learning about them. Those long conversationsm even if she only listens, bring her much joy. Get her out of her head, and the simple pleasures are the things Lucy enjoys the most.

"I'll be fine. Don't you worry." But is she really? Lucy would like to convince herself she is. But in reality Lucy is a scared young girl: scared of the world outside her shell; scared of the expectations her family and peers have of her; scared of the rammifications should she not meet those expectations; scared if she complains people will only roll their eyes and comment on how pathetic the poor little rich girl is being. So Lucy bottles it up, telling herself she can handle it, that she can use it to her advantage and become something greater. But her biggest fear: what if I'm not meant for anything more? What i others get to reach the stars while I have to watch here alone?  Her ambitions stem from this, and what would she do to see those ambitions realized if it meant keeping those fears at bay?

⟪ FATAL FLAW ⟫

Just say "no". That is what Lucy needs to do the most. She is so in her head that she needs to excel at everything and be ready to take on anything, Lucy often misses the things like getting a good night sleep or eating well; or even the fact that no one person can actually be the best at everything. The idea of slowing down to enjoy the scenery is something foreign to Lucy. But that would mean saying no to something...and she can't have that. Lucy truly takes on more than she can handle, and will fight to the death to keep others from knowing it. A little mud on your white dress wouldn't be so bad, would it? And yes, someone can help you wash it off. Lucy needs to learn one thing: she's not a failure - she's  just imperfect.

⟪ BACKGROUND ⟫

Up on the north side of town, surrounded by trees and its own koi pond, is a private mansion owned by the Harper family.  Having been there since Lucy's great grandparents, the Harpers are well known as something akin to local nobility in Roosenberg. Sabina Harper designed some of the most recognizable buildings in Roosenberg: the Rosemore Academy, the Heartford Library (three stories tall!), and the revamp of town hall (keeping that classic architecture in mind while bringing it to the modern age!). Thomas Harper has had many a spread in magazines, and continues to wow even in retirement. William Harper, once the star football player at Rosemore, is now getting ready to further his archaelogical research as a paid assistant for his full ride scholarship at prestigious university; Sophie Harper is wowing with her own photography as she uses her summers to travel the world and document her destinations for her increasingly popular travel blog; and little Amelia Harper just secured funding for a junior robotics team at her school.

And then there's Lucy Harper...who...well...

Lucy doesn't have the same claim to fame te rest of her family seems to have. Yes, she's seemingly accomplished in the most normal way possible she supposes. But she's not travelling the world, reinventing the wheel, or creating a robot of mass destruction.

Lucy's life right now is school work, school activities, and making sure she excels at those. She is very much one of the more popular girls at school, with many thinking of her as something of a model student and person. And Lucy is fine with letting that continue until she graduates and goes to university. Its straightforward, and exactly as she and her parents planned.

But then things take a drastic left turn, and now being a guardian, something unplanned, unexpected, and unreal has taken root in her life. Despite outwardly panicking at this...part of Lucy revels in the opportunity this is, and what it might mean for her: something more than her self percieved mediocrity.

⟪ HOME LIFE ⟫

"Don't embarass us."

A common phrase in the household. While her parents are loving and for the most part supportive, the Harpers do have a reputation. They have strict rules of conduct:

1. Don't stay out past curfew. If you are, calls us and tell us where you are when you'll be home.

2. Conduct yourself in a way befitting a Harper. In other words, don't pick fights, don't be disrespectful.

3.  Do not lie. Harpers don't lie to each other.

Those three rules followed, the parental units usually leave their children to their own devices. They do often have expectation that if you do choose to do something, you give it your all and excel at it. Do not waste your time if you are going to do something: do it well, or don't do it at all.

The two eldest know all too well what they had to sacrifice for success. So they try to ensure their two younger sisters don't fall into the same cycle of overwork and not taking time to enjoy their childhood. Right now everyone is at home. Willam is getting ready to go to his next destination in South America to continue his studies; Sophie is taking a short break before going on a tour of Japan, Korea, Australia, and then the Philipines. Both parents work hard and there's not really a family dinner time. They often order out expensive, healthy food.

Its not a bad enviroment. When the family is together, there's laughter and smiles, and they do like each other. But there's always this lingering sense, at least for Lucy, that you better not fail.

⟪ FAMILY ⟫

Father, Thomas Harper (David Thewlis) ⋮ 54 ⋮ Photojournalist (retired); Photographer ⋮ Lofty, Talkative, Critical ⋮ Thomas often spends his days touring the city, taking photos of the things he sees. He has a gallery in their home dedicated to his works. And it is not uncommon for him to go to events and far off places to continue his work. He is a good father for the most part, but does have a habit of always having a critical eye on everything. He doesn't intend to belittle his children: he is merely stating a fact and automatical critques. He usually feels awful afterwards, and tries to make amends. He had fascinating stories of his travels and is always happy to share them.

Mother, Sabina Harper (Patricia Clarkson) ⋮ 55 ⋮ Architect and Designer ⋮ Polished, Dynamic, Intuitive ⋮ "Lucy, I mean...what is it you want to be doing?" When Sabina asks Lucy this, it can come off as condescending. But in reality, Sabina just doesn't understand her third child. She tries, oh she tries so hard to get Lucy engaged in something. She is trying to help her find something for herself, but it comes off as a little pushy and not very helpful. But then Lucy just seems so busy and not really showing much for it and...if only Sabina could pause long enough to realize the real problem with her child. But Sabina loves all of her children dearly, and you won't find a mom more ready to fight you. That one punk kid who hit William years ago bot a literal boot to the head for that...people forget this under her clean, proper exterior.

Brother, William Harper (George Mackay) ⋮ 22 ⋮ Student/Arachaeologist in training ⋮ Energetic, Intelligent, Dedicated ⋮ William is highly intelligent and eager to share his knowledge. He is dedicated to his work and loves learning more and more. Currently he's studying archaeology, and has a trip planned to do some field work in South America. He along with Sophie run the household when their parents aren't there, and he always makes sure his siblings have food and homework help. Sometimes, he really just acts like a big kid. If only he didn't have all those honors and awards backing him up. Lucy loves him dearly.

Sister, Sophie Harper (Maika Monroe) ⋮ 22 ⋮ Photographer ⋮ Vivacious, Sensitive, Kind ⋮ Maybe the truest maternal figure in the home, Sophie has always been a sensitive girl who is in tune with the people around her. She can cpature a moment better than almost anyone, and has chosen to travel the world to cpature many of those moments. Out of her siblings, she is closest to Lucy and the two often take shopping trips when they can. Sophie, unlike their mother, recognizes the turmoil in Lucy and tries to get her to accept being an unsure teenager is fine and to take her time.

Sister, Amelia Harper (Brighton Sharbino) ⋮ 15 ⋮ Student ⋮ Fiery, Ruthless, Intelligent ⋮ Amelia is brilliant. Too. Freakin. Brilliant. The queen bee of her class, smart and popular, Amelia won't hesitate to cut someone down. Perhaps because of this contrast to Lucy, they do not get along well. For Amelia, Lucy is the next hurdle. It's too late to cut down the oldest twins as they are already near perfect in the eyes of their parents and community: but Lucy is weak. Or so she thinks. Amelia probably suffers a lot of the same insecurities Lucy has, but has chosen to shove those feelings so far away that they've become spoiled and sour. Truthfully outside of the home, these two don't interact much. And even her older siblings see a darkness in the child they don't want to admit to.

Pupper, Didymus (old English sheepdog) ⋮ 2 ⋮ Lap warmer, morning run companion, and stranger startler ⋮ Come to the Harper mansion and if you enter the gates, just past the koi pond, you will be greeted by this large ball of fur. Well behaved and trained, Didymus is supposed to be Lucy's father's dog. But while the eldest male Harper has trained him, the pup prefers the companionship of the Harper children. He sleeps in Lucy's room these days, and is her homework companion: i.e. he lays across her laptop or books.

⟪ OTHERS ⟫

BFF, Philani Peters ⋮ 17 ⋮ Student ⋮ Many years ago on a playground, little Lucy met a little Philly and the two have been near inseprable since. Vastly different from each other, they are the sort of friends who can debate intensely, call each other a dumb , and then amicably agree to disagree before going to get a soda together. Philani is often at the Harper Mansion, listening to stories from her family of their exploits, and is always welcomed at their table. Likewise, Lucy often joins the Peters for brunches and what she considers a more wholesome experience.

⟪ TRIVIA ⟫

- She is very much a BtoB fan. In fact, she likes lots of foreign music. Kpop is just her most current obsession (two years before it was jrock and some turkish music). She also, arguably, liked groups like NCT and BTS before they became popular. She doesn't proclaim this...but thinks it.  *she also has pics of Eunkwang saved to her phone as he is her bias and has she flashed a selca of him and said it was her foreign boyfriend once to make a boy go away yes she has...

- Lucy is very active in school activities: editor for the Rosemore Gazette; student council treasurer; rep for meeting new students and escorting them around for their first day; vice president of the student fencing club; track athlete particularly good at hurdles.

- She's actually a pretty good editor and has a way with written words. Essays and research papers have never been a point of contention for her either. *she just doesn't realize it

- Around school people have taken to referring her as "Lady Harper" due to her social standing, socioeconomic status, and immaculate image. She also can be seen carying a fencing sword at times for club activities, so that helps. This isn't new really: her brother was Lord Harper, and her older sister was the first Lady Harper. Surely Amelia will be Lady Harper too at some point.

- Honestly, had she not made friends with Philani and her two older siblings, Lucy might have grown up to be very vain and superficial, only seeing the good in things at face value. Funny how the relationships around you form your life. See Amelia.

- Her favorite food is pizza. Not very refined, but she loves pizza with lots of veggies. Yum.

- She is an extensive tea drinker, and a bit of a snob about it. Keep those premade tea bags away from her. She has her loose leaf silver needle white tea ready.

HEY! LUCY! ARE YOU GOING TO THE HALLOWEEN DANCE THIS FRIDAY? YOU KNOW YOU CAN BUY TICKETS AT THE STUDENT LEADERSHIP OFFICE RIGHT?

"You're joking right?" With a sigh, and toss of her hair, Lucy points in the direction of their auditorium, "we've actually set up there for the afternoon. If you're going to point people to do something, at least get it correct, Noah Vos. Okay?"

OH SHOOT. MY BAD. BUT YOU KNOW IT'S A COSTUME PARTY, RIGHT? SO, UH, DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING IN MIND?

"Yes, it's a costume party. Not my idea though. Administration didn't like it either. But the president got his way, so who's complaining right?" Lucy straightens her sleeves, and then realizes that Noah is still standing there, "oh okay, fine, I was thinking about being a 1920s American flapper. My sister has a really beautiful sequined dress I could borrow, and I can borrow some accessories from my mom. Basic, I know, but I haven't had time to get to the store or plan one. I'm actually running late to fencing, so if you would excuse me-"

HEY, NOT THAT I CARE, BUT YOU'VE BEEN LATE TO A FEW CLASSES AND TO NEWSPAPER SO-

Lucy steels herself, looking to the clock to see if she even has time to respond since not saying anything would be overly rude. "I've got obligations," she looks pointedly at the student, "And has my performance been lacking? I didn't think so. Hey, have you been watching me?" She narrows her eyes slightly, hoping that this kid would just give up already.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. MY LIFE DOESN'T REVOLVE AROUND YOU, "LADY HARPER". I'M ASKING BECAUSE I WANTED TO SEE IF YOU...UH...AHEM, I NEED YOU TO FINISH REVIEWING MY ARTICLE.

Lucy heaves out a breath, realizing the article was on her desk at home, "Yeah. Tomorrow. I'm almost done with it. It'll be cleaned and marked up by tomorrow morning." Lucy hadn't even read it yet. She could squeeze it in after track practice and dinner with her family, right before bed. Might take a couple of hours, but it would be done at least, and Noah wouldn't be the wiser.

UH, OKAY. WELL I'LL SEE YOU AROUND AND AT THE DANCE, YEAH?

"Sure thing. Be careful on your way home Noah. Oh, take this," she hands him an umbrella she had hanging from her school bag, "it might rain and you walk home. Just bring it back, okay? See you tomorrow."

Noah Vos

⟪ FULL NAME ⟫ Noah Vos

⟪ FACE CLAIM ⟫ Asa Butterfield (+ Cameron Boyce)

⟪ AGE ⟫ 17

⟪ PERSONALITY ⟫ This boy is sassy af. He lives in his emotions, in the moment, and is trying his best to make the most of a rather tragic situation he is in with his father. He does this with a good dose of sass and dry sense of humor. And a dash of vocalized pessimism. Don't forget that. Always ready with a snappy comeback, and an irreverance for the things people often hold sacred, Noah is hard to embarass. He's just a little obstinate, doesn't particularly like to admit when he's wrong, and can be stubborn as all hell. But he's easy to laugh and interact with people, and is never accused of being the most boring person.

Noah is full of insecurities, having been passed amongst his relatives for the past year until his father finally stepped up and asked for him to live with him in Roosenberg. He feels a little like an outsider, but has recently been working to make a good friend group and make connections with his father.

⟪ RELATIONSHIP ⟫

Noah moved to Roosenberg a year ago to live with his father after his mom passed away. He'd never met his father, and didn;t even know he existed until recently. Passed around relatives until he finally landed here, this has left Noah mentally feeling a little like an outsider. His father, Lucas Jansen (Noah didn't take his last name yet, if ever), lives with him in a small apartment closer to the poorer side of town where he works as a construction worker. Noah has felt lonely for a long time.

To combat this, he joined the school newspaper and drama club, and has been trying to be more active in school. He's actually succeeding, finding some normalcy in the newspaper, and even being surprised when his father never misses a performance. He has a good group of friends, and things are looking up.

Now, currently, he has been trying to impress the current editor of the newspaper with his journalistic talents. Enter Lucy. He has failed thus far and Lucy is not impressed ("Red pen my whole life why don't you. Ugh."). Noah actually envies Lucy since to him she is this near perfect student, person, etc. She is the person he wishes he could be, and it just sort of pisses him off. He tries to say he just doesn't like her all that much...but has recently realized his "envy" might be a crush and damnit high school is hard.
