All her life, Manhee has been trained by her father not to be vulnerable. Because of her status and upbringing she always have found herself quite the independent girl. Dependency in the Dae family means weakness and Manhee definitely doesn't want her father to think of her that way. Even as a young girl, she has forced herself to come up with solutions to her own problems, hiding her sobbing in the late nights because a heir of the Dae family has to be strong. Though being the heir, Manhee has depended on her own to work hard to achieve the results her parents want.
Manhee is tough. If an object were to describe her, it would be a Roly Poly toy, refusing to fall. Others have described her as a bullet, hard on the exterior and when pressue is added, it creates a huge and at times, painful effect. She can get quite moody, especially with staff under her. Mostly due to her perfectionist attitude, Manhee wants everything to be done with excellence and often wishes she could micro manage and do everything on her own. She oftens finds herself snapping at others when things are not done properly or sighing a lot when she gets frustrated.
Jumping into conclusions is one of Manhee's greatest weakness. She tends to overthinks certain matters and often assumes before getting her facts right which has caused a bit of strain with her co-workers. She often let do the talking first before her head can process the information.
Unlike others who can be impassive or unemotional, Manhee's emotions shows all over her face especially when she's displeased. She is actually a really genuine person who don't want to hide anything, except her vulnerability. She herself doesn't like others talking behind her back, so she is determined not to be that same person.
Lastly, Manhee spends a lot time at night, instead of sleeping, thinking and pondering what she has done and said during the day. She often gets guilty how her moods get the better of her and that she actually cares for the people she works with, but just not too sure how to express it. She would spend her time to think of how to make it up to them, without them noticing it. She cares a lot but isn't sure if she should show it.
Manhee is slightly like a Tsundere...but not really. She just wishes for some space to breathe.
BACKGROUND ·
Manhee was born in quite a tough family. Her family owns one of the top notch cosmetics brands in Seoul and she is said to be the next heir to take over. Ever since she graduated from University studying Business, her parents have brought her into the company to work in the HR department. Growing up, Manhee suffers like many other rich kids, being the neglected ones in the family, dealing with lonliness. Fortunately for Manhee she met her best friend, till a misunderstanding shattered her little dream and brought her back to reality.
FUTURE PLANS · Manhee is currently the HR manager in Hart Cosmetics. She is in the training to be the next heir for Hart Cosmetics. Currently, her future has been planned out for her, including her life partner - the son of one of the biggest shopping mall in Seoul. Manhee begins to realize she has been missing out on something and decides to be childish for once. At age 27, Manhee has decided to run away... to work in a part time cafe.

HOW DID YOU FIND US? · I needed to find a certain someone who I have not seen for years and the PI I hired (or rather with the help of Junwon) showed me this place he frequently goes to. I decided perhaps I should go look for him there...but what excuse would I have? Oh, I could work there, since I have nothing better to do now.

HOW IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR COWORKERS? · For now, I don't talk much to them, because I am just afraid I will get all overbearing, furthermore I am not in charge of SOL, so I better not overboard. I have been quite polite and controlled myself so many times as I really wanted to tell the two guys off many times. But I know my focus there is for one thing.
HOW ARE YOU WITH THE CUSTOMERS? · I understand we are obliged to give the customers advice at certain times, but I am not too sure if I am the right person to give out advice. Some of them have been really nice but a few have been quite well, detail orientated. Was I like that previously?
“I’M DOING ALL THIS WORK FOR LITTLE PAY. WHAT SHOULD I DO? I CAN’T KEEP WORKING LONG NIGHTS.” · whispers *Want to try my previous job?* but answers "Perhaps it's time to consider if this job is for you." /runs off
HOW WOULD THEY INTERACT · Manhee have been wanting to see Minseok but wonders if he recognizes her. When they first meet, Minseok ordered his coffee without paying and they forgot to tell her about his "special treatment". Manhee demanded that he paid. Minseok was adamant about it and ignored her. Manhee couldn't believe this guy, so she got angry and shouted. "Kim Minseok, you have to pay up!"
Minseok and everyone began to wonder how on earth the new employee knew his name.

Surprise, Surprise. Minseok and Manhee went way back. They were best friends in Middle School. Minseok was the reason those days Manhee didn't feel lonely and he even introduced her to other friends of his. It was those days Manhee felt like she belonged somewhere. Till graduation day, Manhee wanted to find Minseok but overheard him talking to his friends and hid behind the wall. They were asking him about something and suddenly Manhee heard her name and they mentioned how she was a crazy rich girl and Minseok didn't defend her, he even said she was all tough and moody at times. One of his friends even asked Minseok whether he went close to her because of her money. Minseok paused and said yes. Without confirming anything, Manhee let her assumptions cloud her and avoided him after that. They have never contacted each other till now
Somehow Manhee have told Junwon she wanted to run away and take a break from Hart Cosmetics and Junwon reckoned it was like her self discovery journey. He asked if she had anything burrning questions left unanswered, Minseok came to her mind.
Currently at the cafe, Manhee came up with a lame excuse how she knew his full name and everyone brushed it off . Minseok asked her what her name was and Manhee has stated that it was her privacy for him not to know. Minseok didn't pursue after that. It was a week later he ran in the cafe and grabbed her arm. "You're Dae Manhee, aren't you?" In shock, Manhee tried regaining her composure replying "What's that to you?"
Minseok lets go her hand slowly. "What happened to you?"
Manhee refuses to answer and everytime Minseok sees her on shift he would try to small talk with her and Manhee complies as much as possible. Till one day...
