APPEARANCE. Dae Hee can be seen (or heard) from a far with her bright coloured curly (messy?) hair. She's often seen smiling and laughing. She's said to be a ray of sunshine whenever she goes. Exactly like the photos on the left and below. Being born from Hongsan her whole life, Dae Hee pretty much knows everyone and anyone in Hongsan.
STYLE. Unlike many others her age, Dae Hee's love for colours can be seen in her clothing. She loves overalls, short and long. Also often spotted with a bagpack and her own hand painted shoes. And don't be surprise if you see a whole lot of yellow - cause that's her favourite colour! Loves accessorize with all things cute and quirky especially things with flowers.

PERSONALITY.
Loud, Spontaneous, Passionate, Blunt, Dramatic & Disorganized
While most people think artists are usually moody and observant, the local artist of Hongsan proves them all wrong. Dae Hee is loud and usually talks a lot. She can be heard from a distance and has never like a moment of silence - unless she is drawing cause even in her sleep, she snores. And the volume of her voice increases if she gets excited. Dae Hee also increase her hand gestures while talking the moment she gets excited as well. She hates awkward moments and would rather say something - which doesn't always end up well.
She is also well known to be spontaneous and enjoys trying out new things. Be it new food, finding new places or even meeting new friends. Dae Hee can be said to be pretty adaptable to wherever she is being placed. She often loves to dream and another moment where she is quieter could be when she is day dreaming. She often bursts into "the hwangs" telling the rest about the absurd dreams that she had the previous nights. Things like flying through a sky full of mangoes or building a 3ft tall cactus building, many are usually intrigued but whatever she has to say cause they are usually ridiculous.
However, Dae Hee can be pretty blunt without considering what others feel. She doesn't think too much about her words and would often blurt out the first thing that comes to mind. And that adds to the fact that she can be quite a dramatic person which is why sometimes the others don't exactly trust her when it comes to describing something. She tends to exaggerate and at times spin stories. Dae Hee has a fear of people disliking her, she has always wanted to be that interesting person whom people would look to for stories and ideals.
Lastly, Dae Hee is a mess. Her room, her bagpack, pretty much disorganized and she is often digging through her pile of stuff to find something. She is often misplacing her stuff as well.
Overall, Dae Hee still feels like a childish teengager even though she is almost in her twenties. She still feels like she still has a lot of growing to do.
BACKGROUND.
phase I
Being born in Hongsan, Dae Hee lives here with her father and her neighbours are her older brother and his pregnant wife. Because of his laid back personality, Dae Hee had quite an easy going childhood. Her father have never told her what happened to her mother, only that she left for the city when she was just 3. If you peek into Dae Hee's home, you will be able to see random doodles on their walls as her father have never stop wanting them to dream so much so she didn't really have much discipline in her life. But her old brother has always been the "dad" in the household and surprisingly is the one who maintains law and order. Being afraid how messy his father and sister would get, he decided to move next door which is why Dae Hee has a naggy older brother as a neighbour.
Her father and brother are co-owners of a small travel agency in Hongsan while her sister in law works as a pottery instructor but is taking a break. Dae Hee is used to running across the town, petting cats and naming them, chatting with the people around and she got even more famous when a few years back, they got her to paint a mural in one of the walls around the train station. That was one of Dae Hee's proudest moments.
LIFSTYLE.
how are they living now
CURRENT LIFE. Dae Hee does quite a bit of freelance over her website and instagram. She usually works on these at night where inspiration hits her the most. During the day, she is either catching up on sleep or helping out at the front desk of the hwangs. At times, she sits in her family's agency doing her projects when there's someone needed to be there and the rest goes out for lunch. Other times she's seen with her handy art pack and going around hongsan to get some inspiration or just people watch and sketch. When she's feeling it, she would draw random sketches for tourists and give it to them.
In relation to the hwangs, Dae Hee loves hanging out with them. She definitely opens more to Seunggyu and loves just having fun together.
STRUGGLES. One main struggle that Dae Hee faces is what should she do with her life. She loves hongsan and it's very much part of her. But part of her wants to explore elsewhere and immerse herself in something totally different. She doesn't want to burden her family with any expenses or anything and doesn't want to see her father alone.

🎨 Dae Hee loves drawing cats, plants and she usually people watch and sketch people in the hwangs or passerbys.

if you're new to the island, what brought you to hongsan? if you're a resident, how has it been like living here?
— Wow, hongsan definitely one of the best, if not the best place to live. I've been here for 22 years and it's practically all my life! I know everyrone here and they always have been lookinig out for me and my family! If you need a place to stay, I know a good B&B! And don't tell Hong ahjumma that her kimchi last week was a bit more sour, she didn't like it when I commented previously. Do you see the stick she holds, no way am I getting near that thing. If you need to know anything, feel free to ask me!
what is one thing you wish you could run away from in life?
— Another good question! I at decision making so probably that hahhaa. Well, I don't know what am I supposed to do in this life, not currently. So I guess not much of running away but going with the flow?
what do you think about when you hear the word, "family"?
— Something I feel like I can do without and can't imagine not having. My family means so much to me! And everyone here in hongsan is practically the big family that watched me grow up here. I feel that family should never stick to just blood relations, it definitely means so much more!
everyone has their bad days and personal struggles. when you run into a problem, how do you handle it?
— Why do you want to know? Just kidding. I don't really like to entertain the struggle but sometimes I need to go someplace to sort out my thoughts. Don't get me wrong, I love my family! But I feel they have enough problems of their own, they don't need any problems from me!
what's something you hope to gain as you continue to live your life here in hongsan?
— I... I don't know... I really don't. I feel like I might have the answer somewhere but now I really am not too sure.
NIL. I think for Dae Hee's character, would probably be more focus on growing herself? Don't think there's a need for her to have a love interest. But if there are any potential guys, feel free to pair him with her hahhahaa
Maybe she'll just grow old taking care of all the cats in hongsan.
Humourous, Loud, Warm
Many have said that Dae Hee is pretty much a photocopy of her father. They both have very similar mannerisms which make them very close. Ju Won have even joked that Kwang Hee is more like the dad while he is Dae Hee's brother. It's her father who inpires her to dream and never give up dreaming, no matter how old she is.

Organized, Smart, Witty
Dae Hee is quite close to her brother though he often nags at her like a father. He oftens play the voice of reason in her life and a dose of praticality. He can said to be more of a "tsundere" and is often mistaken to be a cold person but those around him knows his warm heart and love for his family.
Quiet, Supportive, Patient
Dae Hee doesn't really understand her sister in law. Mi Yeon is often the one in the background laughing softly at the interactions with the three Kims. She is often describe by Kwang Hee as his quiet strength and someone he can't live without. But recently because her pregnancy, Dae Hee seems to have gotten closer to her.
Dae Hee is one of those who calls her Dictator Hwang or Boss in her face haha. But she remembered being afraid of her previously even though she's only a year older than her. But Dae Hee admires Yeonjoo a lot, being able to do what she does even at her age. Looking at how she runs the hwangs, is when Dae Hee questions herself on what is she doing with her life.
YEONJOO
Junkyu is someone Dae Hee looks for, for fun. She likes hanging out with him. Even though he is younger, she feels that he has so much heart for others and wishes he would see himself more than who he thinks he is.

SCENE SUGGESTIONS. currently my mind is a little blank haha. It'll be interesting to read about the birth of Dae Hee's niece/nephew haha. Like some events that happen in hongsan that gets everyone involved. it could be the hwangs celebrating seasonal holidays together. Maybe for Dae Hee could be her deciding if she wants to continue staying in hongsan or go explore the world/ even further study.
