Hyun was fun, easy-going and loves to fool around. You can say she's dorky, she could make anything fun or make jokes out of anything. She is the believer of 'rules are made to be broken' thing. She chooses which rules make sense for her and which one is not, if some rules don't mke sense for her, she would complain those rules. That's how her Ms.Kwon nickname was made, to stop her crossed the line while complaining. Hyun is friendly to a lot of people and has a broad-knowledge about things. If you ask any question, she would quickly answer it because she knows the right answer. Hyun loves fooling around, but not pranking. She just loves throwing jokes and her punch lines. Sometimes she would laughs at her own imagination so you could say she's a 4D. Her imagination is beyond anyone's imagination. Hyun also a hard-working person because she will never give up on anything. Her hard-working will shows the first time you meet her, she even won't give up on math problems which she actually hates till death. She's very honest and loyal except if someone betrays her, she won't trust that person anymore.Although she is quite friendly, she loves her own me-time. She likes to spend her time alone during gloomy weather or rainy weather. Reading books and writing are her hobbies that you can't imagine. People who just know her won't believe is you tell them she loves to read especially reading english literature books and others. She does look like someone with empty-head because of her playful traits but actually she's very intellegent. Sometimes she's moody so you also should becareful with her.

Her hard-working traits creates a negative trait for her which perfectionist. She won't stop until she thinks it's perfect, that's how she got her OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). You won't find any mess or dust in her room. This is another hidden trait of her, people who just know her would think she's your typical messy-funny-witty person which she's not. She's very serious when it comes to working and practicing but after the training sessions ended she would play around again. Her seriousness in practicing also makes her become strict. People would thought she has two different personalities because of this too. Sometimes she would be sarcastic when she hears people asking some retorical questions especially when she's in her mood-swings. Her sarcasm is beyond your level of sarcasm, the first sentence that would came out from is 'what the hell'. Her honesty also could brings out her sarcasm, for example someone asks her 'what do you think about this dress?', if she think it doesn't that person she would answer 'Well if you're asking for diplomatic answer it would be yes but honestly, no. That's , I mean, you're with that dress'. Her brother said that she was born from a miax of 'savage-ness' and 'dorky-ness'. People who see her wouldn't sense her dorky-ness at all because hr resting face could be quite y at times. She's not afraid to speak out her minds, she's not your type of punch-bag. She is someone that will hit you back if she thinks you need a punch, two punches or some punches. That's why at times she could be seen as a shameless person because of her blunt-ness and braveness in saying her mind. She has a boxing sacks that was brought by her brother so when she's angry, she will hit the sack instead of people.

Hyun was born as Kwon Hyun in Hongeun-dong, Seoul, South Korea. She is the youngest of two. Her father is a professor at KAIST, he teaches Bio and Brain Engineering. His name is Kwon Junhyuk. Meanwhile her mother is also a teaching professor at Yonsei University, she teaches English Languages and Literature. Her name is Min Sooyoung. Her older brother is the singer-songwriter Dean whose birth name is Kwon Hyuk. They have 4 years difference but really close with each other. Dean helped her in her music career a lot. Although both her and Dean pursue a career in music, they both didn't think of music as their job before. They just think about it as their escape after studying or doing some exam. 

Hyun attended Myongji Elementary School where she found her interest in science. She ranked first during her 3rd-6th year of school, her interest in music also started as her family used to listens to a lot of music during weekend and even went to watch Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra at times. She alwasy listens to music whenever she's tired or taking a break from studying. It's like her hobby rather than something that she pursue seriously. After graduated from elementary school, she attended Shindong Middle School. Not only interested in science, she's also interested in language. Dean said that she inherits both of their parents' brain. Hyun is a top student who ranked first througout her middle school year.

She entered Whimoon High School and participated in summer study from UCLA on her second year of high school. Hyun interested in English literature because her mom has a large collections of English literature novels at home. She love watching Disney cartoons and follow the songs since a kid, she would write down the lyrics that she hears so that her listening ability grows. Her brother started tutored by Hyuk Shin, the CEO of Joombas Music group who works with several Kpop artistst when she was 17. Their parents are really supportive towards his decision, it makes Hyun interested in pursuing music. But she puts her education first, for her it's more important to be smart than being famous.

Hyun also involved in the school's english debate team. One time she was competing in a national english debate championship, her team win first. Then she was approached by a female who introduced herself as a talent scout from SM Entertainment. She said that 'the company would really love it if you came for our audition' to Hyun. Hyun was confused but then just accept the business card. She went to school and saw the very same lady that approached her in front of her gate's school. Hyun thought it was odd but that lady talked to her again, asked her to come to the audition as she missed the weekly audition last week, when the lady asked her to come. Hyun was confused why she was being persistent and finally came to the audition. 

She went into the audition and asked to sing or do anything that she might good at. She sang 'Part of Your World' from The Little Mermaid and she quickly asked to sign a contract with them. They also said that they knew she is the younger sister of Dean, who worked with them in writing songs. She became a trainee at 18 years old, on her last year of high school. Dean was delighted with the news and supportive to her. Her parents also supports her decision and even let her to decide about her education. She decided to pursue her college in Seoul National University, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering after placed at the top 1% of the CSAT result. She's a valedictorian throuhgout her high school years and became SNU freshman in 2014.

Her interest in music is fully grown after Dean decided to pursue a career in music. The siblings are really close with each other, Dean also helps her and tutors her in writing lyrics. not only academically and language, Hyun also grows interest in sports specifically in tennis and basketball. She used to play a round of tennis or basketball with Dean during their free time. She and Dean didn't use formal words, they used to make fun of each other even sometimes insults each other in joking manner.

Her father is really liberal and let his children to do anything that they wants. Dean is very close with her, they have the same interest in music. Both always thought of music as an escape after studying not as a career or jobs. She uses shorts a lot for her casual looks or to hang out 1|2|3|4|5, she also uses a lot of sabrina-type clothes because she's proud of her collarbones that stands out the most. She mostly uses long-sleeves in the airport because she will feels cold during flights 1|2|3|4. Hyun has a fair skin and natural brown hair. She's quite tall, standing at 166 cm with 48 kg weight. Hyun has a birth mark right above her left hip so if she uses a crop top and raises her hands, it will shown. She has a unique eyelids, her right eyes definitely have an eyelid but her left eye's eyelid wasn't visible enough unlike her right eyelid. trainee life. 

Hyun became a trainee in 2014, during her final days as a high school senior. Her entrance was quite a news to some trainee because her name was printed out in some newspaper as the top student with excellet CSAT result. Despite her great education background, Hyun always try her best during lessons. She knew she was scouted because of her looks, but she wants to show to everyone that she has talents. She works hard and just after a couple months of training, she introduced as the member of SM Rookies. She is known to be the 'hidden gems' among the trainee because her singing and dancing ability grows rapidly. Not only that, her rap also not that bad. She was nicknamed the girl version of Dean by some trainer although she knows she's far from her brother. Her voice is more like a fragile and light voice. By her brother's request, Hyun was featured on his single titled 'Come Over'. Not only that, Hyun also participated in SM Station's 'My Hero' and appeared in Baekhyun's 'Take You Home'. Her trainee life is quite smooth, she used to works hard at school so it's not really a big problem for her to catch up with the other trainees. She is known among the trainee as the problem solver, she is very friendly and always help others who need her help. There are some trainees who thought they couldn't fit in and Hyun would help them to fit in. She knows that she's not a pro but she'll practice till late nght, she's a perfectionist after all.
