Personality 

Hyun is fun, easy-going and loves to fool around. You can say she's dorky, she could make anything fun or make jokes out of anything. She is the believer of 'rules are made to be broken' thing. She chooses which rules make sense for her and which one is not, if some rules don't mke sense for her, she would complain those rules. That's how her Ms.Kwon nickname was made, to stop her crossed the line while complaining. Hyun is friendly to a lot of people and has a broad-knowledge about things. If you ask any question, she would quickly answer it because she knows the right answer. Hyun loves fooling around, but not pranking. She just loves throwing jokes and her punch lines. Sometimes she would laughs at her own imagination so you could say she's a 4D. Her imagination is beyond anyone's imagination. Hyun also a hard-working person because she will never give up on anything although her outside looks is someone who can't be serious. Her hard-working will shows the first time you meet her, she even won't give up on math problems which she actually hates till death. She's very honest and loyal except if someone betrays her, she won't trust that person anymore.Although she is quite friendly, she loves her own me-time. She likes to spend her time alone during gloomy weather or rainy weather. Reading books and writing are her hobbies that you can't imagine. People who just know her won't believe is you tell them she loves to read especially reading english literature books and others. She does look like someone with empty-head because of her playful traits but actually she's very intellegent. She rarely seen as a moody person, she always keep things lively and bright with all her sarcastic jokes and puns. 

Her hard-working traits creates a negative trait for her which perfectionist. She won't stop until she thinks it's perfect, that's how she got her OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). You won't find any mess or dust in her room. This is another hidden trait of her, people who just know her would think she's your typical messy-funny-witty person which she's not, she can be serious when she needs to. She's serious when it comes to working and practicing but after the training sessions ended she would play around again. Her seriousness in practicing also makes her become strict. People would thought she has two different personalities because of this too. Sometimes she would be sarcastic when she hears people asking some retorical questions especially when she's in her mood-swings. Her sarcasm is beyond your level of sarcasm, the first sentence that would came out from is 'what the hell'. Her honesty also could brings out her sarcasm, for example someone asks her 'what do you think about this dress?', if she think it doesn't that person she would answer 'Well if you're asking for diplomatic answer it would be yes but honestly, no. That's , I mean, you're with that dress'. Her brother said that she was born from a miax of 'savage-ness' and 'dorky-ness'. Hyun is quite an observant, she could feel if something's going on or the mood goes down because she could always live it up again. She's not afraid to speak out her minds, she's not your type of punch-bag. She is someone that will hit you back if she thinks you need a punch, two punches or some punches. That's why at times she could be seen as a shameless person because of her blunt-ness and braveness in saying her mind. She has a boxing sacks that was brought by her brother so when she's angry, she will hit the sack instead of people.

Background 

Hyun was born as Kwon Hyun in Hongeun-dong, Seoul, South Korea. She is the youngest of two. Her father is a professor at KAIST, he teaches Bio and Brain Engineering. His name is Kwon Junhyuk. Meanwhile her mother is also a teaching professor at Yonsei University, she teaches English Languages and Literature. Her name is Min Sooyoung. Her older brother is the singer-songwriter Dean whose birth name is Kwon Hyuk. They have two years difference and really close with each other. Dean helped her in her music career a lot. Although both her and Dean pursue a career in music, they both didn't think of music as their job before. They just think about it as their escape after studying or doing some exam. 

Hyun attended Myongji Elementary School where she found her interest in science. She ranked first during her 3rd-6th year of school, her interest in music also started as her family used to listens to a lot of music during weekend and even went to watch Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra at times. She alwasy listens to music whenever she's tired or taking a break from studying. It's like her hobby rather than something that she pursue seriously. After graduated from elementary school, she attended Shindong Middle School. Not only interested in science, she's also interested in language. Dean said that she inherits both of their parents' brain. Hyun is a top student who ranked first througout her middle school year.

She entered Whimoon High School and participated in summer study from UCLA on her second year of high school. Hyun interested in English literature because her mom has a large collections of English literature novels at home. She love watching Disney cartoons and follow the songs since a kid, she would write down the lyrics that she hears so that her listening ability grows. Her brother started tutored by Hyuk Shin, the CEO of Joombas Music group who works with several Kpop artistst  Their parents are really supportive towards his decision, it makes Hyun interested in pursuing music. But she puts her education first, for her it's more important to be smart than being famous.

Her interest in music is fully grown after Dean decided to pursue a career in music. The siblings are really close with each other, Dean also helps her and tutors her in writing lyrics. not only academically and language, Hyun also grows interest in sports specifically in tennis and basketball. She used to play a round of tennis or basketball with Dean during their free time. She and Dean didn't use formal words, they used to make fun of each other even sometimes insults each other in joking manner.

Hyun was approached by an agent from SM when she's attending a music festival right around July 2011. The agent asked her to come and have an audtion at SM because she's pretty and resembles Yoona. She didn't really think about it and didn't come to the company until she was approached after school on August 2011. The same lady asked her to try the audition once, she was hesitated but her parents encourage her to try new things so she agreed. She went to the audition and eventually joined them as a trainee at 17 years old. Despite already securing a good place, Hyun still puts her education first as she is accepted to Seoul National Univerity, Department of Cehmical and Biological Engineering after placed on th top 0.5% in Korea's CSAT. 

Hyun was trained for a little over two years because first year of college was quite hard so she decided to quit and settle down for her college because it is important for her. For Hyun, every trainee at SM are talented, good looking, and ambitious. They are way more hard-worker than her because they use training as their only chance. Not a lot of trainee go to univeristy like her. So the company didn't renew her contract as her wish and even offered her to come back to the comapny when she feels she's ready. She left SM around early August, 2013. 

For almost 6 months, Hyun focused on college and getting good grades. She eventually settles herself with the college flow and still manages to be the best in her batch. Around March, 2014 she was approached by someone who told her that he is a scout talent from Moon Entetainment and had heard about her from his contact at SM. He offered her to have an audition at Moon Entertainment and eventually become a trainee again on April 2014. Hyun actually enjoys music a lot and she can't denies it anymore. Hyun enjoys her time as a trainee at Moon Ent. because the company is just like another family. People help one another which is something she rarely saw at SM as the competition is really strong although she maintains quite a friendshp with some trainees. She graduated from college at February 2017 and currently attending Korea National University of Arts majors in Composition.

Her father is really liberal because let his children to do anything that they want, he doesn't really push them to become like him or his wife. He is strict when it comes to education but eventually let both Hyun and her brother to choose their own education after high school. He just wants to make sure that his children has a normal life, not being too smart that they could be an outsider but not being too stupid to do things. Enjoys instrumental musics and jazz songs. A highly sarcastic person at time even known as 'Professor S' by students at KAIST. Hyun is quite close with her father despiter he lives in Daejeon during weekdays and only come to Seoul during weekend. Her father loves to play game with her whenever he visits and he would team up with Hyun and Dean to prank their mother. Her father supports her decision to become a trainee at SM also the one who opens her mind and makes her realize that she actuallyenjoys music more than a hobby.

Hyun loves to talk about a lot of things with her mom because despiter her busy schedule at uniersity, her mom always tries to make time for her children.

Dean is very close with her, they have the same interest in music. Both always thought of music as an escape after studying not as a career or jobs. They have a bestie-relationship more than a brother and sister. They likes to insult each other and Dean would like bossing around, she will complain a lot. He loves teasing her. Hyun rarely calls him 'oppa', she only calls him like that when she's complaining or wants something from her (that's what Dean said). Dean saved her name in his phone as 'Wangseja-nim' and Hyun saved his name in her phone as 'Kwon-sanggung'. Though they might beat and insult each other, Hyun really loves him as a brother. Both have this 'ice cream Friday' tradition when they would have big tub of ice cream and eat it together while having a movie marathon until the next day.

Hana is her friend since junior high school. She's a bubbly and optimistic girl who would be loved by people. Her positive-ness always 'infects' others. They went to SNU together and even attended the same department with Hyun. Unlike Hyun who takes a master degree, Hana starts working for Nature Republic. Hana is EXO's Kai cousin (her mother is Kai's aunt from his father's side) but unlike her cousin, she doesn't really into entertainment world. She loves Chemistry above anythin else (except Tom Hiddleston). Since junior high they always stick together, wherever there's Hana there must be Hyun in the same place. Hana has a crush on Dean since they meet for the first time (during hana's first visit to Hyun's house, Dean was a senior high school freshman). Hana is close with Kai (she is Rahee's other babysitter) that's how she always get to go to any EXO concert because he gets her tickets. Hana is quite clumsy so she needs Hyun to balance that. Hyun's sarcasm always decreases whenever Hana is around. Both are tamer for each other.

Hyun met Jongin when she entered SM. They bumped a lot around the practice rooms and introduced themselves to each other. Jongin is the best dancer and alreay set up in EXO when she came to the company. Since she was busy with he study, Hyun always practice during night. That's how she got close with Jongin since he also used to practice during the night even after he debut he always stay in the practice room after s left. Jongin is just a few months older than she is but he tells her about a lot of things about eig a celebrity and how to cope up with the tight competition. Jongin is one of the few people that she told about her decision to not renew a contract with SM. He stil supports her and encourages her to find something that she loves. He is also one of the few people she told about her being a trainee at Moon Ent. Jongin sees her as a little sister, they're close and would give advice to one another. They become closer also because Hana is Jongin's closest cousin so he does hang out a lot with Hana, so does Hyun. Even until now they still talks. Hyun helps him a lot when he's in a relationship, she's somekind of his side-kick.

Seulgi was one of the trainees that were assigned to help some new trainee to cope up with the new environment. Seulgi met Hyun through the assignment thingy. Seulgi is a really nice and fun to be with. She helps Hyun a lot and even told her some blind spot of the camera to take a rest secretly or eat something outside the guidelines secretly. Seulgi is a great dancer and singer so she helps Hyun a lot with those two things. Hyun credits Seulgi a lot for her improving dance skill. Even after Hyun left the company, they still talk and hangs out together. Seulgi comes to Hyun's college graduation. Hyun helps her when Seulgi lost her confident and lost her voie during tainee days. Hyun encouraged her and try to calm her down whenever she's nervous whenever people watching her. When she doesn't have any schedule, Seulgi would asks Hyun to come with her and ride a bike around the Han River.

Hyun and this member is very vlose, as the oldest female in the group she wants to look out for other younger members espcially female members. She always tries her best to listen to their nags and complains. She is that type of peron put othes above her, she wants to help them whenever she can. For Hyun, this member reminds her of her own mother who always try to make time for her and her brother. Hyun got close because she knows that being the oldest musn't be easy and tell the older female to come to her if she ever need someone to talk to. Sometimes at the dorm they would spend their night drinking their problem away. Hyun looks up to her ecause she's mature and reliable.

This member is the one wh would team up with Hyun throwing up some lame jokes or puns. He always seems like a carefree and easy-going person. He always help the others and protect younger members as he is the older male and even wants to protect The Mother. His father jokes (Ajae gag) i quite severe at times but Hyun always manages to turn it into something really funny. Hyun always cracks up whenever they finished practice and he throw some weird sayings such as 'My leg are sleeping, I don't think I could make it to the dorm' or just innocently opens up a can of beer when their manager are telling them to take care of their foods. He takes care of Hyun well and even would get crazy whenever Dean pay her a visit and ended up buying the whole group foods.

Eunho is hell of a unique dude. That's what Hyun thought when she first saw him. Unsurprisingly they get along really well very quickly as both have weird personality. They would think about something in their own mind and then looking at each other before they bursts in laughter. The other members would look at them as if they're insane or anything. Euunho is just two months older than her but he would use it againts her (such as telling her to take food from the dining table to the living room although it's just a feet away). Eunho always manages to make something out of anything as his topic. Hyun enjoys his company, she calls him 'Memeho' because she says that everything he does always meme-able. Eunho always find a way to not get scolded by their managers or have an excuse to eat samgyeopsal in the middle of practice without being caught. His problem solving skill is beyond the top for Hyun. Others may can't really understand him sompletely that's why he acknowledge Hyun as his side-kick.

This member always live up the mood whenever they're tired or down. Even when Hyun is too tired to do anything, he would 'take her job' and entetain the others. Hyun always feel the happiness and fun radiates from him (that's how she describes it). He is younger than her but at times could be quite mature when needed. Hyun shares a lot of things with him because he coould be her side-kick when Hana or Jongin not around. Every jokes he throws are silly yet funny jokes. Although she's older, Hyun let him to call her by name rather than nuna (because she always feels like she's really old whenever someone calls her nuna).

She is very shy off-stage and really quiet which is really the opposite of Hyun. Although she still doesn't really open up to Hyun, Hyun understands her and always takes care of her well.

Ume is a really sweet and kind girl. Shes that type of younger siter that everyone would love to have. The nickname and her personality really matches her. Ume enjoyed being babied by the older members and Hyun love to do the same to her. Ume is really innocent and honest, you could notice when she's lying or hiding something. Hyun enjoys being with Ume because this girl is just the cutest thing she ever meets. Although Hyun loves to throw sarcastic comment to everyone, she just can't really do 'all-in' towards Ume because she thinks that the yunger girl is too cute being 'brainwashed' by her sarcasm.

Trainee years 2 years at SM + 4 years at Moon Ent.

Trainee life 

Hyun actually enjoys her trainee days because she doesn't have to search for time to do music, her schedule has been made by the company. Hyun entered SM at quite a late age, a lot of trainee at her age have been trained for at least 2 or 3 years before she joined the company. But Hyun always try her best and managed to catch up with the othe trainees. Seulgi was and is still her energizer whenever she feels tired or not confident enough. Seulgi always said that "If you're chased by the scout, it means that they see something in you" wheneve Hyun feels inaequate or inferior. She also get t become Jongin's friend sinc she spent a ot of times practicing late at night. She enjoys doing music but she just couldn't admit it that fast. She loves practicing at the studio for hours more than doing experiment at lab although the later is her favorite thing. During her time at SM she always placed first at rap, top 10 at dancing and middle at singing. She get to trained together with NCT's Mark because they were two of the few trainee who actually wite lyrics for their rap. SM isn't your number one cmpany when it comes to rap before Mark debut because this company always have this petty-shining image to people. But Hyun actually taught how to write lyrics with rhyme and flow at SM, with her brother making a big name for himself at music scene she also wants to write her own lyrics. But when the contact renewal comes, she decided to leave from trainee life to focus on the thing she fell in love first, science.

When she was recruited to Moon Entertainment, she meet Eunho who becomes a trainee earlier than her. He shows her around and eventually get her to meet the company's CEO. Unlike SM, at Moon she really feels like she practices to be better not only to be not get cutted from the company but because simply she wants to. Back at SM, she was determined to be the best and topped everything. But at Moon, she determined to do her best and look back at her mistakes, not quickly jump into another step. Despite the less-competition atmosphere at Moon, Hyun always pushes herslf to her limit. She won't stop until she feels it's enough. Eunho becomes one of her best friend and confidant during trainee years. Since both of them are 'weird', they understand each other very well when others can't or just simply give up trying to understand them. During monthly evaluation, Hyun always write her own lyrics and comes up with new lyrics and composition every month. During her 4 years training, she manages to have almost 60 different compositions for her monthly evaluation and for her song-writing class at the company. This is one of the reason why she takes a master degree at composition. During her recess from trainee life, she featured on Dean's song once and also get to participate in writing lyrics for other singers under alias.
