it's no secret that the way to jangmi's heart is through her deep love for dumplings. even the staff from other departments in the hospital are aware of her weakness for the dish.

🌹 Husky-giraffe (에스키모 기린)
Taking 'eskimo' from the direct translation of 'husky' in korean (eskimo dog) and fusing it with 'giraffe', jangmi earned the animal-inspired nickname thanks to aspects of her appearance. although a full-blood korean, jangmi is often mistaken as being mixed due to her unique hazel eye colour (the husky aspect). towering over most korean girls even without heels on, jangmi's tall, thin body body proportions earned her the giraffe aspect.

A defined girly-girl, jangmi embraces her femininity openly through a range of ways. almost as much as she loves dumplings, jangmi adores the colour pink whether it be hot pink, pastel pink or fuschia, jangmi will have a pair of heels in that shade. it also isn't exactly hidden that she is from an affluent family and reigns from a wealthy line of upper classmen.

Born and raised in the united states of america, english is undoubtedly jangmi's first and most confident language. but EVER SINCE SHE'S moveD to south korea for her career, jangmi is rarely ever referred to as "rosalie" by anyone anymore. however, she still has a habit of reading english words with the american pronunciation whenever she comes across them in reports at work. notices the confused looks received from her colleagues before quickly repeatind the word with korean pronunication.

coming in a close second on jangmi's rank of fluency in various studied languages would be korean. reigning from a westernised family line, jangmi's childhood was heavily in english. it wasn't until around middle school when she understood the importance of connecting with one's culture, did jangmi learn korean and used it to communicate with her family and relatives. of course now, as an intern in a korean hospital in south korea, jangmi's korean has signifcantly improved enough to correctly refer to the complicationed, technical doctor's vocabulary but it's inevitable that she still won't know very extensive words that native koreans use.

during her high school days, jangmi selected spanish as her language of choice. she took the class for all of 4 years spent in high school. although she doesn't remember everything she learnt, jangmi still remembers the essentials and would be able to hold a decent lengthed conversation with a native.

conversationally levelled, jangmi is still trying to grasp the complex language deemed the hardest in the world to learn by various critics. loving a challenge, jangmi chose to learn mandarin in her free time.

standing at a whopping height of 175 cm, jangmi doesn't need the help of high heels to feel like a model. Towering over most of the females that shes met, jangmi is even taller than some males at the hospital. her model height is emphasised by her lean and skinny frame, with her weighing 54 kg. equipped with her unique eyes and pouty lips, the workers of seoul hope memorial hospital wouldn't be surprised if she worked as a model before becoming an intern. Jangmi's preferred style is classy and highly expensive. you can tell upon first glance that one of her earrings would probably cost four of your paychecks. is often told she resembles kpop idol kai of boygroup; exo which she laughs at. 🌹 a tiny caterpillar
Born into a very established family group consisting of a line of doctors, lawyers, scientists, professors and other occupational backgrounds of that iq range, jangmi had high expectations set for her before she was even born. both her parents were successful lawyers and were a force to be reckoned with in the crime world. while her classmates were still learning the first 10 letters of the alphabet, jangmi was already learning the periodic table and by the end of kindgergarten, she was able to recite every element's atomic number and number of electrons. by the third grade, she was able to spout law acts in order to tell off the others kids on the playground - hearing "according the crimes act 1958 section 72, a person can be charged for theft if he dishonestly appropriates property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it, so i advise you give mandy back her scented highlighters tom" was just another day for the students of buckingham browne & nichols school.

Jangmi's entire life path was already planned out thanks to her parents by the time she hit the age of 5. following this flawless plan, the park's moved from cambridge, MASSACHUSETTS to boston, MASSACHUSETS so that their only daughter could attend boston latin school which was the highest feeder to harvard university. even though it was an exam school, jangmi effortlessly passed the entrance exam with flying colours and enterted the high school in grade 7 with only one thing on her mind; competition. even though she wanted to make friends, neither her parents nor her peers showed her same goal of making friends. in the world of boston latin school, there's only rivalry and fighting to emerge supreme in the end.

it honestly didn't surprise anyone when jangmi received early acceptance into harvard while the rest of her peers were wait-listed. as the top school for law students, jangmi's parents had wanted their daughter to graduate from the same university they had and in turn, follow their career paths so they were over joyed with jangmi's acheivement. after her graduation from boston latin as valedictorian in 2007, the park family moved back into their original home in cambridge. moved into the dorms and started her harvard journey in 2008 as a humanities major and minoring in biology. a year into her education, jangmi met the school's star athlete; alex grayson, a biology major aiming to be an olympic swimmer. The pair met when their biology professor recommended jangmi as a tutor since alex was failing the class - big time. even if the course was only her minor, jangmi's intelligence for all topics was known throughout campus. their relationship started off as simple tutor and student but falling true to their good girl-bad boy stereotype, they became the golden couple on campus with the help of alex's constant flirting and charming smirk. with her beauty, jangmi was a highly sought after girl and was extremely popular amongst the males but due to her demanding goal of being a lawyer, all her time was focused on studying so alex was her first relationship.

the rainbows and unicorns in jangmi's happy world didn't last long however because on the 12th of february 2010, three years through her four year bachelors degree, jangmi's world crashed down around her. funny how two lines on a plastic stick could change everything. although only 20 at the time, jangmi was over the moon at the thought of having a baby with her soulmate. unfortunately, alex didn't share the same mindset she did. "holy I'm a dad..." "i know babe, isn't it great?!" "rosa, you need to abort the baby!" "i knew you'd love—wait what" "princess, we love each other very much and we'd definitely have kids together in the future this baby is just going to ruin us right now" "what the are you saying alex" "having a kid right now would throw my future of being an olympic swimmer out the window! and how could you be a lawyer when we have to tend to a wailing mess 24/7?". Jangmi walked out alex's dorm that day knowing that her baby would sadly only grow up with one parent. when jangmi's parents found out about thr pregnancy, they panicked and ordered for the same thing alex had too, in fear that the baby could get in the way of the carefully paved path they had set out for their only daughter. But going against everyone's decision, jangmi kept her baby. even with a small person growing in her, jangmi kept updated with her studies from home.

🌹 a butterfly and its baby
on the 24th of november 2011, jangmi's pride and joy was brought into the world. a few names were contemplated but ultimately, jangmi decided that her beautiful baby girl would be named athena hyerim park. just like the greek goddess, jangmi wished wisdom upon her daughter. hyerim in sino korean meant intelligence and precious gem which jangmi couldn't agree with more. every since their fight, jangmi broke off all ties with alex even though he had tried multiple times to contact her so naturally, her baby inheritated her surname. with the birth of athena came wisdom. Jangmi took a year off school to look after athena and during this time jangmi realised that all her life, she's been working towards a goal that made her parents happy - not herself. so, jangmi disposed any dreams of becoming a lawyer despite having finished her bachelor's degree. from there, she found interest in the human body and so, upgraded biology from being her minor to her major study. Before surgeons are qualified to operate, they must meet a set of education requirements much like lawyers. This meant jangmi needed to complete four years of undergraduate study than generally, another four years of medical school leading to a Doctor of Medicine degree before she could work in a hospital. thanks to her helpful choice of minoring in biology, jangmi knew as much as a bio major did so the board of harvard university approved of her enrollment into harvard medical school in 2013 after her one year break. athena was looked after by jangmi's mother, who had grown fond of the idea of havng a grandchild the second she laid eye's on athena's face. from 2013 to 2015, jangmi worked her off to complete medical school to receive her doctor of medicine degree in 3 years rather than the average 4 years it takes. graduated as part of the class of 2016 as once again, the valedictorian with little 5 year old athena clapping for her mummy the loudest in the crowd.

jangmi wanted a fresh start from her life as the harvard prodigy so she had applied for an internship at seoul hope memorial hospital in south korea before her graduation. she was accepted and they expected for her to start a month after her graduation that was in may. however, still bitter about his daughter's failure in the law business, jangmi would be able to go to seoul but would have to leave behind athena unless no one found out about the latter. unable to give up on neither her daughter or her dreams, jangmi argued with her father for countless weeks before the day of the flight was just around the corner. jangmi begrudgingly agreed to his deal since she didn't want to be seperated from athena. started her internship in june 2016.
