— Appearance Seunghye's body measurements is one of an average idol's (the same has Eunha's). Through her long years of putting up with annoying individuals, Seunghye has mastered her resting face. Known for and proud of her very long lashes. Sharing the same mouse like features, large eyes and pale complexion, it doesn't come as a shock to people when they discover that she is the younger sister of Seventeen's S.Coups. All 3 Choi siblings are often mistaken as foreigners due to their facial features despite proudly reigning from Daegu.
As expected from a trainee, Seunghye's hair has constantly been transitioning from brown to black throughout the years. Having lived with long hair all her life, Seunghye made the drastic change from elbow-length to a short bob cut that doesn't even reach her shoulders. Saying that Seungcheol was shook is an understatement - he didn't even recognise upon his first glance.
Surpassing the pierced footsteps (or should I say ears) of her brother, Seunghye has a total of 10 earrings in both of her ears. With a simple 2 in her left rook, it is the more simplier decorated ear of the two. However, on her right ear, the outer conch is scattered with 8 piercings and 1 on the scaffold of the ear.
— Fashion sense Contrary to her cute looks, Seunghye is actually a tomboy who likes to express this through her personality, dance style and choice of clothes. She despises pink, frills and girly pieces. Seunghye prefers outfits that have a more boyish and hipster vibe. Positive Choi Seunghye is someone that doesn't simply follows her dreams - she'll chase them. Being one of the longest trainees at Pledis, you can tell that she's driven and persistent in regards to her goals. As a strong believer that nobody's perfect, Seunghye pushes herself to train more than others in an attempt to become flawless at all areas. Often spotted in the practice rooms at 2 in the morning, critiquing herself in the mirror as she goes over the same moves numerous times to master them. What makes her a good trainee is her ability to pick things up very quickly - able to memorise a dance routine simply by rewatching it a maximum of 5 times. Seunghye holds her head high and rarely lets the opinions of others bring her down. Whether onstage or while walking down the corridors of Pledis, Seunghye presents herself as a strong, bold figure. She is confident and believes that she has every right to be - she's talented, pretty, hard working and deserving. She's one of the best trainees in the company. It is unknown as to whether Seunghye learnt during her years as a trainee or whether they come naturally to her but as well as excelling as a performer, Seunghye enjoys participating in the production of choreography, lyrics and song composition.
Negative You know what they say; a person's past experiences define them. Seunghye was exposed to the bad side of the entertainment industry at quite a young age. This lead to her withdrawal from those around her, unable to trust the ones she did know and even the ones that she didn't. Not much is known about Seunghye to the new staff or artists at Pledis, only the basics such as her older brother Seungcheol, that she's a talented dancer and that she can get easily annoyed by a lot of things. On shows she prefers to stay quiet in fear that an impulsive answer could lead to a scandal or being fired at by netizens (as she's seen many of her sunbaenims go through). At times, it's a subconscious trait, while at other times it may be intentional - patronising others. Seunghye is soon entering her 8th year of training and she has acquired status and talent in that time period so sometimes she acts superior to others, forgetting to consider their training period and be empathetic or understanding. Much like she is condescending, Seunghye is also very impatient. The littlest things manage to set her off, making her snap. Since her actions speak before her mind think, Seunghye has trained herself to process a question fully before replying. Due to her cold nature, she comes across as intimidating and unapproachable which she isn't affected by since Seunghye prefers to only have her few close friends around her. Losing - it was practically unheard of for Seunghye. Whether it be monthly evaluations or who can tie their shoelaces the quickest, Seunghye always seems to always win and at this point, that doesn't surprise anyone either. Seunghye hates, despises and fears losing since it's just a sign of weakness or not being good enough.
Neutral As mentioned before, Seunghye strives to be at the top no matter what it is. Rarely satisfied with her achievements - is that annoying kid who sulks even after getting 99 out of 100 in an exam. Since she left home in her teen years, Seunghye grew to depend greatly on Seungheol since he was the only one there but when he gained more important priorities, Seunghye was forced to fend for and learnt to be there for herself. This proved to be both an advantage and disadvantage since today, she doesn't rely on her closest friends even during tough times, believing that she is strong enough to get through it herself. Her responses to you will 90% of the time be a bored expression paired with a dramatic sigh that's quickly followed by a sarcastic response - "unnie, I spin to the left right?" *cue sigh and eye roll* "no Siyeon, you spin to the right to collide with Kyla". Although, Seunghye's snappy and insensitive remarks can often get her into trouble or gain her an enemy. With Seungcheol and Seungbin, Seunghye would often visit her dad's theatre where she woulgd observe the actors and actresses, thus developing the skill of how to lie and keep her face straight.
Summary Seunghye is a very straight-forward person who cuts to the chase and doesn't like talking in circles - it wastes time. She is very realistic and has no guilt in crushing your dreams - "wow look it's a shooting star! I'll make a wish!" "you know, shooting stars mean that people are about to die since it's about to hit the Earth". She is very passionate about the things she does and finds no problem in over-working. Despite her appearance, Seunghye hates being called or acting cute.
The Cold, Hard Truth Seunghye wasn't always this cold towards people. When she first started training, Seunghye graced Pledis with her bright and bubbly personality. She was their sunshine, lifting up the somber mood of a day with merely her smile. Despite trainers warning trainees not to grow close to those around them, Seunghye's atmosphere managed to gain everyone as friends. From male to female, young to old, all those in Pledis knew of Seunghye. While everyone felt comfortale enough to seek her out as a therapist, Seunghye didn't have a best friend who she could confide her own problems to. Finally, 6 months into training, Seunghye met a young '98 liner who came from China - Zhou Jieqiong. The two were the youngest in the company, spreading happiness with their cheeky giggles and care-free nature.
Training Life It was a well-known fact throughout the company that despite only being a trainee, Seunghye was definitely one of the top performers that kpop has seen. Excelling in all areas of dance, trainees would fight each other just to end up in her group for monthly evaluations. She was an amazing performer who displayed strong leadership skills but damn was this girl hard to please. Being in Seunghye's group meant putting in 110% of effort and be prepared to stay back late because being the perfectionist she is, she'd rather stab herself in the eye with a nail rather than perform something she isn’t happy with. She likes getting things done quickly and slow learners are her biggest pet peeve - either keep up, or get out. However, instead of yelling at you, she'll merely roll her eyes and leave you for another person to help.
Despite trainees wanting to be in her group, this in no way meant that she was everyone's favourite person. Since being lead by Seunghye practically gaurunteed a high evaluation score everytime, that was the main reason why she was so popular during that time. Once evaluations ended, most trainees turn to gossip about how Seunghye thinks she's all that - not even bothering to make friends with new trainees. Hell, the trainees who joined after 2012 haven't even seen the girl crack a small smile, only being met by a sharp glare, unimpressed expression or one of her infamous eye rolls. In Seunghye's mind, she thought she had friends whom she could count on but all it took was a single failure for people's true colours to show, so why bother making friends now when they're just going to abandon you afterwards.
Seunghye is a very dedicated trainee. Waking up at 5:30 am every morning then returning to the dorms at 1 am every day just to get in extra practice hours. In class, she picked things up quickly and her hard-working behavior was often praised by trainers, although she was continuously nagged at by health teachers about the 'unhealthy' nutritional values of pizza. Pft as if that would stop her from stuffing her face.

Although not his fault in the slightest, Seungcheol feels responsible for his sister's change in attitude. While he constantly ruins a mood with his uncalled for apologies, Seunghye keeps her thoughts hidden. She actually feels sorry towards him since Seunghye believes that her addition to Pledis forced Seungcheol to grow up quicker, taking on the role and responsibility of her gaurdian. Extremely close to each other since they were the only family in Seoul. Seungcheol is incredibly protective of his younger sister and is even cautious of his group members. The only ones that he trusts enough to leave her in a room with are Joshua (child of God), Woozi (strictly friends) and Vernon (straight up scared of Seunghye). Although very close, they're still siblings after all so fighting is inevitable. So while new Pledis trainees find it a challenge to get Seunghye to say a single sentence, when around her older brother, Seunghye will be bickering nonstop. They fight over petty things and get unnecessarily reeled up - "pine trees are better", "fight me, oak trees are the best". While she likes to mock his stage name and calls him "ice cream scoops", he refers to her as "bingsoo" because despite her cold aura and icy replies to people, she's actually sweet to those she cares for.

Growing up in a household of 3 men was hard since no on ever spoke about where Seunghye's mother had went off to. The only female she had in her life was her dad's mother. Younghee is the sweetest, most encouraging and most caring person that Seunghye knows. Due to her loving nature, all 3 of her grand children like to compete for her attention. Contrary to her old age, Younghee still likes to joke around and prank her grandkids regularly, which mostly ends with them calling the ambulance mistakenly. Ever since her grandkids were born, she would openly support them in any way she could and she also pushes them to achieve their dreams. Instead of calling her 'grandma', Seunghye jokingly calls her 'Grand Muse' sometimes since Seunghye's performances are for her grandma. Knowing that her cold personality would disappoint her grandma, Seunghye acts like a sweet, aegyo-filled kid like she was before whenever around her grandma. Likes to whine and cling on to her. The 3 Choi grandkids always go to Younghee when they have problems or when they want something - "halmeoniiii, daddy won't let me have cookies before dinner".

Yin and yang, water and fire, sun and rain. Newer additions to the company still can't figure out how the loud, talkative and outgoing chinese trainee came to be inseparable from the cold, quiet and rude Seunghye. While Jieqiong was extroverted and caring to everyone she meets, Seunghye remains private even towards those who she's known for years. It's a mystery to all as to why Jieqiong continues to stay by Seunghye's side since the reserved girl doesn't seem like an ideal friend to have around. A frequent interaction between the two would be Jieqiong bouncing happily into the practice room to cling onto Seunghye after a long day, only to have her so called 'bestie' sigh loudly and whine "aish, you're so annoying". But what people don't notice is the twinkle that appears in Seunghye's eyes whenever she sees Jieqiong bounding through the door - relief washing through her to know that Jieqiong still hasn't abandoned her for yet another day, or they manage to miss the small smile that plays on her lips after she complains about Jieqiong's skinship. Like biological sisters and would not hesitate to fight you if you bad-mouthed the other. Seunghye was actually the original creator of the nickname 'Ostrich' after realising the uncanny resemblance that her best friend shared with the flightless bird. Jieqiong is the only person who has a death wish so she calls Seunghye "cutie patootie".

Joining Pledis a year after the Choi siblings, Jihoon easily befriended a 14 year old girl who was obviously adored by everyone in the building. Feeling out of place due to his introverted personality, Jihoon had a hard time fitting in with the trainees but being the overly friendly kid she was back then, Seunghye made it her personal mission to make Jihoon open up. While his quietness is critiqued by the variety trainers or louder members (*cough* boosoonseok), that was the quality that Seunghye admired about him the most. When everyone else in her life questioned her drastic change in personality and tried to coax out an answer, Jihoon never questioned her motives and remained a loyal friend. It isn't a secret that Jihoon has a soft spot for Seunghye - while he wouldn't hesitate to kick anyone who woke him up in the stomach, the only reaction that Seunghye gets is having his blanket thrown over her head to muffle out her voice. She calls him 'oompa oppa' which is a reference to the small men from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; oompa loompas. Not only teasing his height (despite him being 2 cm taller than her), the name is also a triggering memory of the time when Jihoon had his hair dyed a nasty green colour.

Seunghye is harsh - there's no doubt about it. Usually, she would step back and let others lend a helping hand since she feels as though no one is worth her time. But with this little kid, Seunghye sees a lot more potential then he's showing right now. Maybe it's the fact that his parents are both dancers, or his young eagerness, or his burning obession with Michael Jackson. Seunghye doesn't go easy on Chan and he often misinterprets this as 'torturing him' or 'hating him'. Despite not showing it, Seunghye cares for Dino as a younger brother. Although he whines and complains a lot now, Chan will learn in the future that Seunghye is helping him reach his potential as a dancer. She calls him 'Dino' because just like a dinosaur, she hopes that he'll dominate the stage.

Unfortunately for Hansol, the poor kid joined the company after y Seunghye made an appearance. Her piercing glares do not help his shy, timid personality one bit. As soon as Seunghye enters a room, he will try his best to situate himself somewhere that she can't pick him out. If it weren't for accidentally hearing conversations, Seunghye probably would have never heard Hansol's voice since the boy goes mute every time she talks to him - "Hansol, move towards the centre more?" "...". He finds her very intimidating and is scared that one wrong move could set her off.

Lucky for Seyeon, she managed to make it into Pledis a year before Seunghye's change in 2011. Although they weren't best frends, the girls were friendly with each other and had no problem with giving back hugs or stealing one another's food. After y Seunghye emerged, Soyeon actually felt sorry for her fellow trainee. She wasn't sure what had made Seunghye like this but it must have been something very hard-hitting. Since they were comfortable with each other before, Seyeon never gets hurt by Seunghyes snide comments - "you're a tenth of a beat late", "can someone get the sewing kit so I can sew shut", "for god's sake just shut the up".

To her luck (*cough*), Seunghye was seated inbetween Seokmin and Jaehyun during homeroom at the beginning of 2013. Turns out, this kid was a trainee just like the two students seated on his left - except his company wasn't broke nor financially dying. Ever since the first day of school, Jaehyun had openly shown an interest in Seunghye and constantly tried to woo her. Seunghye usually responds to Jaehyun's attempts with a scoff or a sassy comment that doesn't seem to phase him. While everyone else finds him charming and friendly, Seunghye views him as annoyingly perfect and irritating. Calls him 'Golden Boy' while he refers to her as 'sweetheart'.

Joining Pledis during the era of y Seunghye, Nayoung was blessed with the lovely sarcastic responses of Seunghye. Even from the first day of Nayoung joining the dancers at Pledis, Seunghye had taken a certain disliking towards her. Seunghye tried to be professional and not let her own personal judgement cloud her mind but Nayoung constantly spoke highly of her own skills while in Seunghye's opinion, they were merely average. I mean sure she had some talent but not enough to justify her words. Not gonna lie, there are days where Seunghye sits on the couch with a tub of ice cream and mumbles about sloppy footwork or late beats when Nayoung shows up while she's assessing everyone's monthly evaluation clips. The two like to provoke one another and can't stand it when the other is mentioned. Seunghye calls her 'Sloppy Turnout' since Seunghye had challenged her to a dance battle during her first week as a Pledis trainee - to say the least, Seunghye wasn't impressed by her so-called 'skills'.

"Obviously, I'd find group activities with Valient to be much for fun and enjoyable but if hypothetically speaking, we we're split up and forced to participate in solo activities, I'd love to try out acting. Seungcheol oppa spoke very high of it when he was obsessed with it before so I'd like to experience it. Or maybe even represent Valient in a dance show (like Hit The Stage but that hasn't been created yet)".

love story As soon as Seokmin had tried to woo her with his cheesy pick up lines on the first day, Seunghye had made an effort to avoid him discreetly. But that proved to be hard when trainers put him under her brother's group. It also didn't help that the following year, they were not only attending SOPA together, not only placed in the same homeroom, but also assigned as seat partners. Seokmin and Jaehyun are constantly competing, not only for Seunghye but in vocals, tests, who can get to homeroom quickest, who can give Seunghye the first cartoon of milk during break time etc.
Seokmin likes having lots of friends and making people laugh so he found it unusual for Seunghye to dislike him so much. On days where she's feeling extra grumpy, Seunghye will walk away or out of the room but only after making direct eye contact with Seokmin, just to hurt his pride even more than usual. His definition of friendly is her's of annoying. Admittedly, Seokmin has been hurt by Seunghye's cold actions on more than one occasion but he always bounces back and annoys her again within the next hour. Seokmin's hobbies include poking at Seunghye continuously, repeatedly calling Seunghye's name over and over, loudly yelling in Seunghye's ear and giving her tight hugs that she can't get out of. Since Seokmin is overly nice to everyone, it is unclear as to whether likes her or is just being playful. And to everyone, it seems obvious that Seunghye hates Seokmin's guts but then why is it that every time he hugs her, she feels little butterflies in her stomach? Seunghye scoffs every time someone suggests that maybe, just maybe, she might like him. That's absurd, he's literally the opposite of her ideal type. Referred to as Seokhye.
