A Time Limited Life: AUTHOR’S NOTES + EPILOGUE
Author’s Notes:
Alright, alright, I know you guys are looking at me murderously for killing off Woogyu, but hey, it isn’t called a tragedy for nothing.
So did you guys get the whole story? Did you understand that the timer down the bottom of each chapter wasn’t a time limit on Sunggyu’s life, but on Woohyun’s life instead? Woohyun’s life was based on how long Sunggyu’s life would last. The timer was never meant to represent how much time Sunggyu had left. It was a countdown until the day that Woohyun died because he couldn’t stand being away from Sunggyu after his death.
Thus, when Woohyun dreamed that Sunggyu was alive after the surgery, his own life extended by decades because Sunggyu would continue to live for a long time and Woohyun would continue to live along with him. And in reality, when Sunggyu actually died, Woohyun only had a few remaining days left on his own timer. Woohyun loved Sunggyu so much that the timer on his life was based on Sunggyu’s own life, and that’s just so bittersweet and romantic. Sweet because of how true and strong their love turned out to really be, even after their nasty break up, and bitter because of their tragic ending together.
So anyway, how many of you people cried when you realised that the happy dream where Sunggyu lived was exactly just that – a dream? I wanted you guys to see exactly what they could’ve been, what they should’ve been if everything hadn’t gone wrong. I know a lot of you wanted a happy ending, so this was sort of my contribution. There was no way there was going to be a happy ending, because I thought that just doesn’t work. For a story like this, happy endings don’t come by easily, so the most I could do was show you what Woogyu’s happy ending could have been.
And, OH MAH GAH. I ACTUALLY CRIED WRITING SUNGGYU’S DEATH SCENE AND FUNERAL. It was just. Ugh. So emotional when I was writing it. T^T
I also know that a lot of you dislike Woohyun for abandoning Sunggyu, but I want you to know that both of them are responsible for their break up. Or at least, that’s how I aimed to write it.
When their relationship was falling apart, Sunggyu did nothing to save it, and because of this, Woohyun ran away from Sunggyu before he could hurt him. Neither of them were willing to take the first step to reconciling, so this inevitably ended up with them breaking apart.
Besides, I was trying out a new writing style from my first fic, or rather a change of views. I’m a stickler over whether things should be in past or present tense, and admittedly, this isn’t my best work grammatically.
Anyway…I hope that I’ve at least managed to make you cry at least once, or made you laugh and go ‘awww’ over the Woogyu love in the first few chapters. That’s what I aim for – to make reader’s feel, and to make them think about those emotions and what it feels like to experience those very same emotions. So I sincerely hope that I have succeeded in some way, no matter how small. I LOVE YOU GUYS. /hugs you all
On another note, school started again. /cries. It’s my final year so I may not be updating as much. I caught up with a friend who went back to Korea for her holiday and FUUUUUUUUUUU SHE GOT ME AN INFINITE POSTER! I can die happy now. I actually have two copies lolol. Here’s a picture (not the clearest) of it ♡ AND HOW FREAKING ADORABLE DOES SUNGGYU LOOK. /dies.
And a picture of the adorable Kikwang socks (IKR!!?? SOCKS!):
Anyhoo~ I will try updating Dance with the Devil next, but I am so stuck for ideas. Like I tried thinking and all my brain could come up with was an image of Woogyu ing each other and Kiseop laughing ridiculously like all ‘OHOHOHOHO’ while clashing a pair of cymbals together and dancing to SNSD’s Gee (omg hate that song SO MUCH D: ). And just yeah. I don’t quite think my brain’s functioning correctly these days .____.
Epilogue:
Sungjong slowly meandered his way up the hill, a bouquet of white roses clutched in his arms. He stopped when he arrived at a familiar white marble gravestone and he leant over to brush away any stray dirt from the marble stone. Gently he placed the bouquet of ivory white roses lovingly down by the bottom of the grave, his hands arranging the fully bloomed roses carefully. Quietly, he stood back and observed his work, a smile breaking over his face when he was done.
“I miss you guys,” Sungjong said softly, “but I guess you’re in a better place now.”
He stood silently for another few minutes before turning away from the grave and the inscription that now read,
Here lies Kim Sunggyu. Born 28th of April 1989. Died7th of October 2011. He will be always loved and remembered forever in our hearts. His voice will never leave this world. Rest in peace, our beautiful angel.
Here lies Nam Woohyun. Born 8th Of February 1991. Died 14th of October 2011. He will always be treasured in our hearts and never forgotten. Your voice continues to walk with us. Rest in peace, our darling angel.
Kim Sunggyu and Nam Woohyun, two lovers in life, and now forever together in death. Rest in peace.

Dongwoo mumbled as he buried his head into Hoya’s chest, their legs tangled together underneath the twisted bed sheets.
“Yah, Hoya. We need to get up soon…”
Hoya murmured an agreement, before turning over and closing his eyes again.
Dongwoo sighed, before turning his eyes towards the ceiling. He smiled when he felt a pair of arms snake around his waist, pulling him in towards a muscled chest.
“Baby, are you ready for today?” Dongwoo heard a husky voice ask.
“Of course. It’s their anniversary today right? We can’t miss that for anything. Sungjong would kill us for that.”
Dongwoo nodded as he felt Hoya smile in agreement against his bare skin.
“They’re okay now, Dongwoo. I know it.”

Myungsoo sighed as he entwined his hand around Sungyeol’s, blowing on their linked hands to warm them up.
“Are you cold, Yeollie?”
Sungyeol shook his head, as a smile graced his choding features, before he gazed over at a club INFINITE.
“Do you think they’re happy now, Myungie?” Sungyeol whispered, as he swung their hands back and forth, a frown crossing his forehead as they walked past the club for a flower shop. They needed to buy white roses.
“Of course they are, Yeollie,” murmured Myungsoo as he brushed a kiss against Sungyeol’s forehead, “they always will be.”
Sungyeol smiled as he walked in, and he nodded his head.
“Yeah, they must be happy now. They’re together finally.” He smiled.

Sunggyu stirred as he curled around the comforting warmth against his body. Where. Where was he? He couldn’t remember what happened…
Slowly he blinked his eyes opened, and rubbed them adorably as he stared sleepily at the source of the warmth. He blinked once more, before his eyes grew wide, as he stared at the person before him.
“A-Are you– Why are you–!?”
The person silenced him with a slow and sweet kiss and Sunggyu rememberedeverything. He gasped as he broke away from the kiss, his hands touching frantically at the person, but yes, he was really here.
“D-Did you– As well–?” Sunggyu breathed eyes wide in shock.
The person kissed him again, silencing him effectively and this time Sunggyu responded to Woohyun’s sweet kiss.
