Background:
2000 – Six years old
The clock struck 10 AM when a six year old girl picked up the telephone, "Hello?" she asked, "Happy birthday, Mei. We're sorry that we can't make it today," a woman, believed to be the child's mother said. "It's okay, mom." the girl replied, a tad bit of dissapointment in her voice. "We've prepared a present for you, so make sure you're at home tommorow at 12 in the afternoon." her father continued. "Thank you." she said and hung up.

The child sighed, knowing that she had no choice but to follow, It's for my best. she thought. She spent that day scribbling notes; it read :

My dearest parents. Though I love them, they were never home. Though they love me back, I don't know what they're doing. Sometimes I wonder, do they still love me? Are they alright? But those are problems I don't understand...

I'm six years old today. It's about time I start growing up. But I need my parents here so I can grow happily. They left me a present, not today, but tommorow.

 – Min Xiaoxi.'

And so, the paper was fold in half and slipped in between her books.

The rest of the time was spent with her nanny, LaoYen. Xiaoxi was happy with her since Laoyen was the only grown-up at home. Xiaoxi and Laoyen played various games with her. By the end of the day, Laoyen gifted the six year old a book, a notebook. "Keep this, my present for you. Cherish it and write down all your wishes, and they will come true. Write down all your worries, and you will feel relieved." Laoyen explained. "Thank you, Laoyen.little Xiaoxi said and drifted off to sleep.

它是温暖和模糊

The next day, at 12 afternoon sharp, Xiaoxi was brought to a place. She found it amazing and graceful, filled with warmth and love. She heard the sounds of a violin, followed with a guitar. The music was alluring and welcoming, as if it were leading Xiaoxi to follow it.

A woman then approached her, "Hello, are you Min Xiaoxi?" the woman asked, "... Yes." Xiaoxi replied. The woman smiled and reached her hand out, "Come on, let me show you something." Xiaoxi was scared, but she knew her parents were the ones who sent her here. Hesitantly, she held the woman's hand.

Xiaoxi was brought into a spacious room. The walls had large mirrors instaled and music was all over the room. "This is ballet. Do you want to try?" the woman asked and Xiaoxi hesitantly nodded. Another woman in the room looked at Xiaoxi and smiled.

2007 – thirteen years old
A girl was in a room. The walls were white and it only had one large mirror, facing the girl. The girl began to lift her feet until only her toes touched the ground. She moved gracefully as the music filled the room, anyone who saw her would probably stay to only watch until she finished.

"Xiaoxi, you've been here all day. Aren't you tired?" a familiar voice rang. The girl turned to the door. A woman in her mid-thirties called out. "It is true that I'm tired. But it's okay." the girl replied. "If you say so." Laoyen said and the girl was alone once more. She wanted to make her parents proud.

但是,温暖只持续了一段时间

She practiced day and night, so she could one day please her parents. But by the time her parents watched her performance, they were impressed, yet disappointed. "You were not the best. But it's okay." her mother said. She heard the disappointmet in her mother's voice. I've tried, mom. she thought.

2008 – fourteen years old
"Mei, we're leaving for Korea in a month." the girl's father said. He was dressed in a full suit, with a firm face. He looked mature and confident, those were the right words. "But will Laoyen follow us?" the girl asked, worried about the said woman. "Laoyen is guarding our house, so she's staying here." her mother assured; though the meaning of her words were warm, Xiaoxi could feel the coldness in her tone.

"Make sure you learn enough Korean, Mei." her father said, "Yes, dad." Xiaoxi replied, knowing that her father doesn't accept a 'no' for an anwer. "We've hired a teacher." her mother said, kissing Xiaoxi's cheek before leaving for work with her husband. But I don't want to leave.

所以我离开了我的家乡

The plane was rather quiet. She felt uncomfortable. New place, new school, new language, new enviorment; she was never one to like new things. So she tried to sleep through her uncomfortableness. She then imagined something.

A girl, waking up in a strange place; where everything was white, and she was the only pale. The girl saw a mirror and a pair of shoes, amd she was happy. The girl wore the shoes and stood up, taking a deep breath after.

The girl started to hum, it was a wonderful melody. She spinned, catching her balance when she almost tripped. She smiled and danced freely. A white bird chirped with the same melody and flew above the girl. The girl danced as she felt freedom and happiness.

Until everything went black. And the girl woke up. "Mei, we're here." her mother said. The girl got up her seat and off the plane. It was all a dream. she thought.

新的地方,新的家,新的生活

2009 – fifteen years old
The girl looked at herself in the mirror again. She huffed and tyed her hair to a ponytail. She didn't like her new school, she didn't like her new name, she didn't like the new lifestyle. She glanced at her uniform, stopping on her nametag, 'Min Sohee'.

She walked to Gomyun, afraid that people might know she's new. She passed the gates, seeing unpleasant sights. She was uncomfortable and scared. Why did mom and dad enroll me to this school? she thought and shook her head.

为什么要去这所学校?

After registration, she headed down the hallways; text books in her hand as she eyed her surroundings. I already have one reason to hate this school. she mumbled. She opened the door to her locker and put in all her books; leaving a few in her bag for notes. She took a pen out and a sticky note and wrote something on it. 'Do NOT cross the boundarries. And don't forget to check the rooftop.' it read. She stuck it inside her locker and closed it.

She hurried to class, a little groan slipped out since the first lesson was science. Just great. First day, worst day. Welcome to hell. she sighed.

She was sitting there in class, scribbling a few 'Notes to self' in one of her blank notebooks. She started drawing.... She wasn't the best at it, but it could still be recognizable as a pair of ballet shoes with a hair clip and a ribbon; people might think she aces arts since the drawing's pretty nice and beautiful.

"Min Xiaoxi...?" an unfamiliar voice asked. She was sure it's a male, since the voice was pretty deep. She turned to the voice and it was a male, smiling at her. "Hi... I'm Genyu." he said, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. "Hi Genyu, have we... met before?" she asked, still confused why there's somebody who knows her name. "We're actually from the same ballet class when we were little.... So... Hi.. Again." he said, leaving the greeting awkward.

黑,我们再见面。这真好

2010 – sixteen years old
It had been officially a year since Sohee entered Gomyun high, but she still hadn't seem to like the school. She had also seen, or heard, so many... unwanted things going on around school; from , to suicide, to murder, to massacre. But she only stayed quiet.

Relationships:
.i
Classmate × Lín GēnYú [17] × Gomyun student [fc : Winwin]
At Gomyun, Genyu is the only one she knows. She– they rely on each other and are practically best friends. Both are Chinese and Xiaoxi depends on him when she can't understand what the teacher says.
ii
Role model × Carolyn Kwon [16] ×  Gomyun student
Carolyn doesn't really know Xiaoxi, but the latter is at least a bit comfortable when she talks to her. Xiaoxi thinks of her as a role model because Carolyn can protect somebody... Which is a thing Xiaoxi isn't good at. Carolyn helped once or twice woth her Korean.
Grown up who stayed with her × Wu LaoYen [42] ×  Maid
Laoyen is the closest person who raised and took care of her. Her parents never did care how their child grew up... Maybe a bit but that's it. They once had this mother-daugther bond between them. They still keep in touch with each other, though.
Stranger? Or not? × Heo Saehyun [16] ×  Gomyun student, deceased
The two never talked to each other or anything, Xiaoxi just very oftenly pass by him. But when Xiaoxi looked at his eyes, it had the same light as hers, but slightly darker. His eyes were dark and sad, and had thia hurt expression. She wanted to care for him, but she was scared.
Grade Year: Second year
Life in Gomyun:

[First year, high school. 2009]
It was her first year at Gomyun when she was classmates a person she knew, Genyu. She became close to him and they relied on each other. They hang out at the rooftop everyday after school or walk the streets of Gomyun for friendly dates.

It was fine until there was news about a suicide train, again. She also heard of the attempt of suicide by Heo Saehyun, whom she noticed has this dark aura and hurt lights in his eyes. She was... anxious and scared, What ifs were all in her mind.

She also heard about Carolyn Kwon. She heard about Geon Mijoo. She knew their basic personality and had always thought Oh, I want to be like them too. But she couldn't. 'You know, you shouldn't be somebody's copycat because you're unique.' something Genyu eould say.

[Second year, high school. 2010]
She was one class with Carolyn and she was a tad bit happy. She asked her about... Stuff... Sometimes.... Mostly about Saehyun. But she was kind enough to tell her.

What was your reaction to the massacre?
"Why?" the girl said, biting her lips in anxiousness, "They were all good." the interviewer looked at her, a bit confused. "Good persons." she said again. "Why.... Do they kill people not wrong?" she asked, lost intranslation. And she shook her head. "Nebermind." she was thinking before speaking up again, "I thought of how Gomyun kept loosing their students. Why are people this cruel here? Why did they do it? What ifs were all in my mind... The massacre wasn't very shocking, but the fact that the people who were killed are innocent, it scares me." she spat out; the interviewer knowing nothing about what she just said.

What was the first thing that came to your mind when the blackout came about?
The girl was quiet for a while, "Black...out?" the girl asked and the interviewer nodded. ".... I was at rooftop." she said, pointing her index finger up. "I... Don't know about... Blackout." she shook her head and sighed. "But when I heard.... I think it was... Scary." she admitted.

Do you have a feeling you know who's responsible?
"Someone bad." she said. She was quiet, probably thinking of a word. "A bad person kills someone good and caring in the end. Coming to a conclusion, if someone not hurt killed them, why would he? If the person is paid to kill, then why did he?" she explained, the interviewer blinked twice. "I have.. someone... He might be the one... But, that– it's only a thought. I don't know."

Did you know any of the five personally, most likely Saehyun?
"I know... but that doesn't mean I know them well to the extent that I hang out with them amd is very close to them... I know–" she gulped. The interviwer leaned in, "I know Saehyun... Because Carolyn." she said.

If you could uncover the truth, where would you start looking first?
"Truth... I– I think the classrooms. The abandoned ones. I've seen many unpleasant sights there." she said. She shook her head and stayed quiet again. "I'm sorry if you don't... Understand." she bit her lips again.
