oh cliché 4;
part one ; part two ; part three ; part five
Why may I ask is the "you" tag growing? It is growing because people keep wanting more of it. "You" stories can be seen in two different forms. Two forms of which are very annoying and can become very hard to read because of a bad plot or just aren't done "right" and thus become hard to comprehend. Please note that this rant is a bit incomplete and may be deleted to be reposted when it's 100% finished and is a full-out rant.
1. Tagging
I find it super creepy when I'm reading and all of a sudden I see my username. I find it to be disturbing in the simplest of terms. Some people think it's cool to see their username and that's fine but it's almost wrong. The main character shouldn't be jwhong005, it should be some lame name like Ahn Cho Hee.
In a tagged story I saw that my username was not only tagged but it was bolded too. So, among the amount of text they had it was "blah, blah, blah jwhong005 blah, blah, blah." I can tolerate tagged stories to an extent but when you just randomly bold my username when everything else is in plain text, there is no reason for that.
Don't just randomly bold stuff. I know that doesn't have to do with "you" stories but I had to get that out there.

2. Using symbols to replace names
I find that to be alright but keep the number you use consistent. That's really all I have to say about this particular way of writing you stories. Keep a type of consistency to your story or it'll look sloppy, even more than not giving your main character a name of their own except for underscores or squiggly lines.
Don't write:
"~~~, come here!"
and later put,
"~~~~~~, I said some here!"
