My fanfic sort of happened to me #DeviLife

So I was sitting at my desk reading some rather tragic stuff when I started hearing this sobbing voice. At first, I thought my head was just filling in for the story I was reading, then I thought I had left a video playing or something, but I realized quickly that it was actually my neighbor crying really loudly. I could hear her through the walls. The walls in my dorm/apartment are actually quite soundproof, but the doors carry sound between the hall and the room, so it becomes easy to hear what is happening in the rooms nearby if I'm by the door or in the hall.

This girl is clearly on the other side of the wall, near the door, I'm also near the door. I could hear her crying pretty clearly. I sort of panicked and didn't know if she was in need of help or something. I almost called security or knocked on her door. But then I listened closely and heard her say things like "I can't do this anymore." While that sounds really bad, like she's being pressured to do something against her will, it also sounds like a student cracking from her first week of college. She cried for a bit longer and has since stopped.

Basically, I heard strange things from my neighbor's room.

I thought to myself, "I could write a fanfic about that," when I remembered that I actually wrote a very similar story more than 2 years ago. Changmin is a college student who hears strange things from his neighbor's apartment. Things like crying, yelling, vomiting, things breaking, and . It's actually a oneshot I am rather proud of, so I can't believe I even considered writing a similar story. Haha.

It just made me laugh a lot that my really odd story sort of happened to me in real life. Sort of. I don't expect to start a romantic relationship with my mentally unstable neighbor.

Usually, I write things based on inspiration from my life. I wrote several serial oneshots about my experience with my terrible roommate. I also wrote some oneshots about how I felt as a student, and oneshots using writing styles from books I have read. It's not unusual for me to read something or for something to happen to me and I suddenly form a story idea in my head, but it doesn't often happen that something I write or read happens to me in real life. Ever. Especially because I write rather atypical fics.

Life is strange sometimes.
