elaboration /
► if someone were to tell you what sunghee was like in one sentence, it would that she's just too damn nice. she's always putting everyone else's needs before her own, and she has a caring, almost motherly-like nature about her. she would always greet every customer at the café with a gentle smile on her face, and make sure they would always feel comfortable in the café's environment. the way she was brought up lead to her being a peacemaker of sorts; when a disagreement arises she'll often be the one to try and conjure up a solution that will make everyone happy, or at least be sure that the parties can understand the others' opinions and ideas. over the course of her life, and especially when hoon saved her and how much of an influence he's had on her as a person, she has learnt to be grateful for all of the good things that have happened to her and to never take anything for granted. generally speaking, she is a very sweet and polite girl, and would never mean to do harm to anybody.

however due to her particular upbringing and having the impression that she should be a nice quiet girl, she had learnt to be just that. before she met hoon, she didn't speak up about things very often and she tends to be a sheep and follow along with the majority most of the time. this also lead to her being submissive, and since she always puts others before herself, sometimes it can cause her harm if she gets used the wrong way. due to her growing up, she used to be very distant, and she found it hard to connect with people unless she knows she can absolutely trust them. working with hoon at the café helped her open up to people though, including strangers, so she's been trying to improve on her social and communication skills ever since his passing. because of her distance from people most of her life and generally being one to keep to herself, she doesn't think very highly of herself, and when she gets praised, more often than not she'll secretly feel like she hasn't done 'enough' to receive these compliments.

background
► sunghee was born in itaewon on the 5th of july, 1992. her mother and father were both busy with work, though during her first few years of her life they tried to give her everything and anything she wanted. most of the time this would be through material goods, however, which didn't fulfill sunghee in any way. all she wanted from her parents was their affection and love, though due to their busy lifestyles and always having a different person everyday babysitting her, she concluded from an early age that she was at the bottom of her parents' priorities list. the fact that she was also a single child made it have an even bigger impact, since there was no such things as favouritism in the house, as there was no one to favour over her.

since she did not get to practice talking a lot when she was a little girl, this hindered in her ability to make friends during school. she didn't have a speaking disability or anything of the sorts, though she was painfully shy and things like going up to the from of the room to speak in front of the class absolutely terrified her. she had extreme stage fright and whatever type of activity you could think of that required communication, she would only do the work that was given to her and let everyone else technically walk over her. sunghee was one of those people that did her bully's homework for money, which made her feel absolutely humiliated. this escalated into her becoming a target for everyone who had something to say about her, and became a victim of bullying all the way through high school.

sunghee was unfortunate enough to attend the same high school with some, if not most of the people which had tormented her during both primary and middle school. soon all of the stories from the past had spread around the class, and she was yet again a target for everyone who had something to say about her. it wasn't that she did anything to receive such hate, rather that she was the ideal type for bullies; someone who won't speak up or try to defend themselves, and who will show a reaction. for yooa, she would often be hiding in the bathrooms (though she wouldn't use her grade's one, she would hide in either the younger or elder grade's toilets to hide from potential people she knew).

it was during class again when two other guys were making inappropriate comments about sunghee, though since they were older now they were about more mature and... let's just say explicit content. she saw another guy come up to the group, and she immediately assumed that he was going to join in on the torment. however she was surprised, shocked even, when this guy threatened the two boys who were bullying her, and soon they ended up backing away. she had no idea what else to do other than cry. however this time it wasn't out of dread or fear or sadness, but out of thankfulness. she couldn't remember someone standing up to the big guys and supporting her, and it was almost inevitable that the two soon became friends.

after they had graduated, hoon told sunghee that he wanted to open up a café. of course she was hesitant at first, talking with people definitely wasn't her forte, thow tugh hoon encouraged her to open up to the idea, commenting on her baking skills and how she'd be able to quickly learn how to brew coffee and, maybe more importantly, how to improve at talking to people. sunghee is happy that she decided to go with the idea, and hoon helped to get the word out about their café and get business going. even up to this day, she still does her best in order to bring the best food, drinks, and customer service to the café.

//// the plotline ////
funeral / she was definitely shaken by the fact that hoon had passed, let alone suicided. it was obvious to everyone there that she had a connection to him, seen by the constant tears which were rolling down her face and the sniffles and other noises which she was trying to hold back. she wasn't sure at the time which scared her more, the fact that she was attending a funeral, an event in which someone has died, or the fact that she was one of the only people she could talk to comfortably.

past / sunghee would say that her and hoon were close friends. she admired him a lot, though strictly as a friend. they've known each other for a while, and working together almost everyday would almost definitely make you feel closer to someone. she knew a lot about hoon, from his favourite book to that time he went camping with his brother, though she never spoke up about herself a lot. he also helped her learn to open up to strangers and such, and her communication and interpersonal skills improved a lot from working at the café together. she regrets not having been more open to hoon about herself, and wishes that she could have become closer to hoon while he was still alive.

present / since she had to start managing the café by herself, she felt as though she had improved a lot as a person. she's started to become more comfortable with talking to strangers, though the more aggressive types do make her uncomfortable still. she's hired skilled baristas and bakers to work alongside her at the café, and she's been able to become good friends with them. she hasn't changed a lot of the café itself, not even taking off hoon's name in places where it's seen; this was his idea and his dream to have this caf´é in the first place, so she keeps the mementos of him which are around the place as a tribute to him.

coffee
► espressino (not the same as an espresso)

//// the end ////
FINAL WORDS / hey there! i hope you like my character, and i pologise if it's a bit too dramatic for the story ;; also, feel free to write out the additional staff however you please! if there's anything i need to change please tell me and i'll get to it asap ^^
Suggestions / here are some names for the café, sorry if they're not great ahaha ;;
       ► bug in a mug
       ► milk and cream
       ► the room
SCENE REQS /
► sunghee having an anxiety attack (either in public or at home) with people around, and she's conflicted about if she can open the café on sunday because of how she feels, though she doesn't want to let down her promise of them all having coffee in the morning, which stresses her out a lot.
► this is more simple but her and her love interest (if she ends up getting one, otherwise it can be one of the other friends) giving sunghee a long hug, either when she's upset about something or just because they want to show affection to her, and her being happy that they're doing that for her.
► the café's business is declining for one reason or another, and sunghee is worried about the possibilities of what would happen if it were to close, and if she would ever see her grou of friends again, etc. and she has to find a way in order to make business steady again. (like getting the friends to start metting up everyday rather than just on sundays).
